Popped in for a quick pint and ended up staying for bingo! Jo is an amazing landlady and I had an absolute ball! Free buffet, bingo fun and cheap drinks.... Can't wait to go back! Thank you for cheering me up

They kept the kitchen open for us as we arrived pretty late, there was a lovely snug room we all sat in by the window.

Nice traditional pub , staff lovely but food poor , spicy chicken panini is Bernard Mathews chicken, crucials chilli sauce with cheese , small panini . Fries nice £8.50 , not great value, but edible nothing more
Very nice place, friendly, serves food, handy for Hamilton Square train station. They serve Sunday roasts, looked good (we didn't eat here).

Great pub. Good prices even when there’s a band on. The only drawback is how hot it gets (87 degrees at 11pm recently) but I assume it gets like that to ensure that no sound escapes with houses nearby.
Its just a Birkenhead street corner pub. Plain ordinary predictable beer selection, no food & a really quiet place. Recommended for locals who can't be bothered walking more than a few hundred yards from their front doors for a pint or two.
Great place for entertainment and a good time open mic on weekend is fun highly recommend 👌

Walked into a lively pub,lovely atmosphere,we both fellt at ease being in a new environment,2 guys on mike,singing,both spot on ,several karaoke songs all good,will def go back next time in Birkenhead,thanks to all

Absolutely Delicious Gluten-Free pizza. Coeliac Safe and the staff were super accommodating and kind. One of the best Gluten-Free experiences we’ve had in a while. Also have Gluten-Free beer

Good pub nice staff am chill atmosphere
We went here today on the off chance of a roast dinner and although we hadn't booked and they weren't sure they would be able to accommodate us they were amazing, not only did we get an amazing roast dinner the service was fantastic and they made sure we had a lovely time and meal. Our children were very complimentary of the food with one saying that we should say thank you twice. We will definitely be back (for our yorkies lol) everyone should definitely try a roast from here.
Had a lovely pint of Guinness, and some food (burger & chips) very good quality, really enjoyed it. Very reasonable prices too 👍 update:18th August 2023, this pub no longer serves food. Still a nice place and decent prices.

Lovely little pub, fantastic food. Had the half pound cheese burger (served with fries and coleslaw) caramelised onions on the burger was a pleasant surprise and the chips were perfectly cooked
It's the best pub in Birkenhead, friendly staff great atmosphere, quirky and you never know how it's going too pan out it can go from quite to a full blow out wedding party.

Barbershop pole + military memorabilia. Long bar + beer garden. Lots to see. Real ales good. Helpful service.
Listed grand ll. Circular bar. Leaded glass.floor and wall tiles. Good old fashioned corner pub. Very helpful landlady. Will go back.
Definitely don't get my rating very disappointing pub loo are gross never cleaned lack of hygiene and not empty bottle bins in beer garden or cleaning up broken glasses off floor and left food that been there some time over all it's cheap place enjoy few drinks that's about it
Pleasant staff & locals. Beer is the usual naff cask beers you'd get anywhere else but but its an ok pub to stop off for 1 or 2 pints enroute to somewhere else & the locals are genuine people. The Waterloo is literaly just side of Argyle St which is also a pleasant & honest local so I'd recommend a pint in each pub before moving on elsewhere for a more lively evening.
Went here today for Sunday lunch staff were very pleasant very welcoming ,good view over the mersey out of front window nice little pub .
The lunch it's self was gorgeous everything was so tasty hot and lashings of meat juice gravy. Couldn't fault it . Followed by sticky toffee pud and custard my day was made 😋 then home for an afternoon on the couch 🤣😂🤣 very enjoyable will definitely have another roast in here. Go try it you won't be disappointed

Nice local pub..which as a tourist to the area we wouldnt have come across. Land lady was cheerful as were the few locals that were in there on a Wed night.. tried a new to me gin...
Couldn't be rougher if it tried, even the leg of the pool table had a bandage on it.

Lovely little pub with inexpensive beer, nice atmos and a pool table & dart board. Glad we found it after doing our weekly shop. :D

We called today for a drink. A pint of John Smith's and a diet coke. It was a pleasant atmosphere with music tv playing in the background. A super view over the water from the seat next to the window. The barmaid was friendly. It wasn't busy either.
what a lovely old pub the staff was lovely the people was so friendly we dident know anyone but by the end of the night we was treated like friends anyone that wanted to sing could we will be going back again its just behind the market
This could be a nice pub again if they got new bar staff as the staff they have now are running the place like a hostel went in the toilet and they liked if they needed a good clean the drinks we had were warm and just like drinking warm water no wounder it was no one in just me and my friend worst pub iv been in for a very long time .. P.S. I'd rather go to wetherspoons then go back to this pub
Small but great venue for live music. Staff really friendly and the atmosphere great when the bands are on. It's so good to see a pub supporting local live music.
My nan has been going to this pub for 60 years we love going back there because the guests make everyone feel welcome and the staff are amazing

Nice clean family run business great Sunday lunch friendly atmosphere welcoming had a fantastic Sunday roast with all the trimmings even provide highchairs for infant's.
Nice little place ice cold beer polite staff , but this was my main meal now to say I was disappointed was an understatement this was it before I started. Needless to say I had to go home and make myself something to eat , wouldn't have filled me kids up won't be ordering food here again ..

Averagely priced beer but at least they serve both Coors & Guinness. Friendly staff & regulars. Open plan & spacious so observing covid guidelines is easy & hand gel is by the entrance just inside the door. They accept debit & credit cards which is a bonus as some backstreet pubs only take cash. There is a £5 min spend limit on card transactions tho so I advise pay for 2 pints then put 2nd pint on tab til you want it at a later time. Sadly, due to location there is no car park & no room for an outside drinking area so I can't mark them down for something that is out of the landlords hands. I like this relaxed clean locals pub & I use it regularly. On Sunday afternoons the landlord Mike serves up an exceptional Sunday Roast lunch btwn 2 - 4pm for only £5 each but he only does upto 20 covers as he does it all himself with no backup as he is an enthusiastic talented amateur, not a pro chef so take your chances as to availability & just enjoy a sociable locals pub atmosphere while waiting for your meal ok.
The pub is a very good place to go in Birkenhead and is in the heart of the town centre and has a up to date decor live music at the weekend and a nice little beer garden to the rear of the pub and is also cheap for drinks .
Unfortunately there were no real ales on, but the Guinness was good. A real gem of a place with mosaic flooring and etched windows. A listed pub full of Victorian charm. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
A decent boozer with well kept beer and a decent selection of spirits. Good special offers were adverised throughout. Hand sanitiser was available and measures to adhere to social distancing were in place. The staff were friendly and polite. Great to see they do karaoke and quiz nights. I may have to pop along one evening to dabble at the karaoke.
Warm and friendly pub thats been one the few last in Birkenhead. Good selection of beer. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere has got an old style feel it but not in a bad way in a sit and relax way. No wait at the bar as the staff are so efficient. It a pub you can sit and chat and totally enjoy yourself.
Decent place mostly quiet got music jukebox dj sometimes serves beer has two pool tables outside smoking area in the back dance floor and a dartboard

Decent little pub in Birkenhead town center. Loads of drink selection available, decent crowd who drink in here, no idiots. Karaoke on most weekends which is a good laugh and not taken seriously. Good old fun pub. Not many left now, lets hope this one stays open.
This pub has been going for years. Pulls a good crowd of people too. Pool table availabe and has a function room above. Good selection of drinks.
What a bar back. Very handy pub if caught in the rain on the way to Conway Park station. No hand pulled beers.
Absolutely amazing and staff our exceptinal and the dj what can I say ha he doesn't carry a Bible that's for sure but a good night out in here xx
