This is one of my favorite restaurants, in Germany or otherwise. Admittedly, it perhaps taps into some fun school years for me (when I frequented the venue). Goldbecker has authentic, delicious German food in a comfy atmosphere. Love it!
Wer mal Harry Potter gesehen hat und sich an den Tropfen Kessel erinnert weiß wie es in der Klimperkiste ist.....toller Laden und noch bessere Gastgeber.....man kann einmal im Jahr hingehen und wird begrüßt als wenn man jeden Tag da gewesen wäre.
Eine urige Kneipe die man mal besucht haben sollte. Dunkel, eng und laut. Es war ein langer Abend und wir hatten Hunger. Empfohlen wurde mir der berühmte mit Sauce Hollandaise übergossene Toast mit Käse und Schinken….sieht gewöhnungsbedürftig aus, war kein kulinarisches Highlight, hat aber satt gemacht. Die Käseplatte aus den 80ern haben wir dann auch eingeatmet. War ein lustiger Abend und nicht das letzte Mal hier vorbei geschaut.

Top service, good beers and prices and the atmosphere is great. It was a nice dingy bodega vibe but without the cigarette smoke. Wish it was my local!

Super Getränke und leckeres Essen. Vom Snackteller bis zum Croque ist alles mega lecker und macht satt. Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam! Komme immer gerne wieder. Weiter so.
Schöne alte Kneipe mit sehr viel Ambiente. So etwas gibt es nur noch selten in Hamburg. Schön, dass es weiter geht. Wir kommen gerne und sind froh einen Platz an der Bar zu ergattern.

Super schönes und gemütliches Lokal wo man allein oder mit Freunden preiswerte Drinks und Essen und einen tollen Service bekommt. Ich gehe immer wieder gerne dorthin.
Von außen denkt man, dass es sich nur um eine Kneipe handelt, dem ist aber nicht so. Es gibt gute bürgerliche deutsche Küche. Schnitzel, Gulaschsuppe, Herringgerichte, Currywurst, Grünkohl &Co. Gutes Preis Leistungs Verhältnis. Sehr freundliches Personal. Ein seltenes Lokal wo man rauchen kann.was mich als Nichtraucher nicht stört.Kann mein neues Stammlokal werden.

Barkeeper an unfreundlichkeit kaum zu überbieten, geht kaum auf einen ein und lässt einen dann einfach stehen... Unsympathischer Laden, nie wieder! Am liebsten hätte ich einen Minus einen Stern gegeben!

Service was not good at all and it seems they were understaffed.
I had lunch there yesterday, and the food was disgusting, undercooked potatoes(hard), meat was dry and tough. The table was also dirty. I left feeling hungry and ripped off.

Ich kam vor 6 Wochen zufällig in die Bierkiste..Wurde überaus freundlich aufgenommen. Seit dem mein Lieblings Ort um zu entspannen und nette Leute kennenzulernen. Besonderen Dank an BABSI.

Meine ehemalige Stammkneipe. Ich habe hier viele schöne Jahre verbracht. Besonders in Erinnerung bleiben Markus, Benji und Christoph, meiner Meinung nach die besten und gastfreundlichsten Ausschenker, die ich je erleben durfte.
Nun kam ich seit Jahren wieder zurück und der Geist der Glocke ist vergangen. Unfreundliche Bedienung mit sehr wenig Motivation und Einfühlungsvermögen.

Traditionelle Hamburger Kneipe mit netten Leuten. Insbesondere Gina aus Köln hat uns gut unterhalten. 👍

I just arrived few minutes ago, I wanted to order cocktails (Happy Hour), but unfortunately the lady who was getting the orders, said that they are not longer offering cocktails 19:56 pm. I ordered a beer, however, surprisingly I saw few minutes later, the same lady, preparing cocktails. I approached her to ask why, and she said they were doing a “stop”. What kind of service is this? Doing a stop of doing cocktails during the happy hour… unacceptable!!!
Very good bar in the St Pauli district of Hamburg. Goof beers from Weihenstephaner particularly the Dunkel. Friendly and helpful staff. Very large outdoor seating area. Busy on a Friday night.

I really enjoyed this bar. Very friendly and happy bar staff. Enjoyable cocktails. Caipirinha and Pisco Sour were well made and seem to be house specialities. Good crowd here too - not pretentious or rowdy, just happy people enjoying a drink and chatting with one and other. Recommended.

Das perfekt Mischverhältnis für eine Rum-Cola wurde hier entdeckt. Wer geleitet von scharfsinnigen Stimmen aus dem Off darten will und dabei musikalische Meisterwerke von Pink Floyd bis Andrea Berg genießen möchte ist hier perfekt aufgehoben.

One of my favourite bars in Hamburg Altona. Very nice location and atmosphere, specially at the weekends.
Finally some German restaurant in the neighborgood. The lunch portion was massive. Service was very good. But the furniture not very comfy, spent just the lunch break there. Anyway I recommend to visit
KöPi, Bud, Bayerisches Hell, Guiness, ... alles frisch vom Fass. Unschlagbar gutes Personal, tolle Küche, faire Preise und für Doko- und Skatspieler perfekt. Fußball wird auf mehreren Bildschirmen gezeigt - tolle Stimmung.

Der mit Abstand unfreundlichste Mitarbeiter, der mir je in einer Kneipe begegnet ist. Als wir den Laden betreten haben, konnten wir direkt einen Disput mit einem mMn höflichen Gast beobachten. Darts und Spielautomat durften wir 2 Stunden vor Ladenschluss nicht mehr bedienen, die Zapfanlage war auch nicht mehr in Betrieb und ein so dermaßen unfreundliches Verhalten uns gegenüber hat dem ganzen noch die Krone aufgesetzt.
Leider ist mir der Name des Mitarbeiters mit langen Haaren und Brille nicht bekannt - aber wäre ich der Kneipenbesitzer würde ich diese Umsatzbremse sofort entlassen.

Authentic German resteraunt with great tasting Schnitzel and beer
Superior look‘n‘feel at THE LOCAL. Great service, free water (always a stunning experience in Germany, sad, but true), great bar lighting, fresh interior and good drinks. Even though it‘s location is a little bit off, coming here to spend quality time and enjoy substantial cocktails is recommended.
In the day time, it’s a perfect place to relax and in the evening, the best place to have a drink with. The caipirinhas are the best I’ve ever had and also why I keep coming back!

Among the best curry wurst in Hamburg, in my opinion. Normally the place is quite busy and the staff looks a bit overwhelmed, but the food doesn’t take so long to be delivered to the table. Ambient wise is nothing special, has an underground look, but normally this kind of places hold the best food. I recommend seating outside :)

Best pisco sour and capirinha in hamburg! FINALLY A GERMAN BARTENDER who is absolutely GREAT. The woman knows her job. the cocktails taste like cocktail. So happy we found it, after so many disappointing experiences in hamburg. Amazing!

Great little place. Friendly staff and great vegan options. Had to wait 20 min for a table though so I recommend reserving.
Cool traditional bar with nice wooden interior. Spent a couple relaxing hours there with kids while sightseeing this part of Hamburg. Flammkuchen was very good.
This is a decent imbiss with friendly staff. We only tried the currywurst and it was nothing special. That said, we certainly don’t classify as “Currywurst Connaisseurs” and you should take our review as that. We hardly ever eat imbiss-style and we probably will try another imbiss if we have emergency hunger like this time.
I like the look and feel and vibe of this place a lot BUT (and a BIG BUT), it's not a good choice if you don't like cigarette smoke. There is a smoking room upstairs and the whole place has a smokey smell. That hasn't changed in a decade unfortunately. For me, it's the one thing that ruins this bar.
It could also be improved by offering a non-alcoholic cocktail menu. There is only one on offer and not mentioned on the drinks menu at all.

Urgemütlich, Raucherkneipe, Oldstyle und lecker Essen. Preislich nahezu unschlagbar. Tolle, freundliche Bedienung, total leckere Bratkartoffeln zu den Gerichten.

Goldbeker... One of those places you have to visit when in Hamburg! The menu is rather small but what they offer can hardly be outdone...we had a very nice meal with a good friendly service..very clean restrooms...good value for your money!
Erster Bummel nach Hamburg's Öffnung für die Aussengastro und gleich so einen netten Laden gefunden. Zwischen Elbstrom uns Kiez ein ruhiger Platz zum verweilen. Nett und freundlich und vernünftige Preise. Pauli flair - Top!.

Cosy place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Great vegan options, especially the “Döner Teller” which reminded us of Greek style “gyros”. A big plate incl fries, mixed salad, a cabbage slaw and tzatziki. They also offer vegan desserts!
I am vegan and since this place serves meat I can only grand them a 4/5. Otherwise I have no complaints, left very happy.

Good bar. Gets super busy later at night but very pleasant in the afternoon. Has benches all around the bar outside so perfect for a summer afternoon. Following the red riding hood theme, you’ll have wood sounds in the loo :)

As much as I want to give this place a five star- I gotta let others know that it was a difficult time to be here and enjoy everything- the time delay was beyond an hour for food- and even 20-30 minutes to get the order placed — which was frustrating- the food was “ok”. They carry a great vegan menu and regular menu- for the night we were there I believe they were very understaffed. Our server was racing around- but the benches outside are very uncomfortable and narrow and sitting on them for 90+ minutes was definitely a negative. We asked for check and still didn’t get it so I had to go in and ask and pay- again it was obvious they were understaffed but well liked by all who were there. I would recommend going- but if it’s busy or they haven’t hired someone else for assistance- prepare for a wait!!

I've been taken here once this winter and I am sure to come back. The menu changes regularly and we had a vegan traditional dish of 'Grünkohl' with vegan sausages. It was so delicious, I could hardly believe it. Always inspires happy thought walking past that place now. The vibe was chill, the staff are friendly and relaxed and it is sure to breathe the sternschanze atmosphere. Also a nice place to sit and enjoy a chill drink.
Cheap drinks, good cocktails and tap beer. The atmosphere is great, bar is nicely decorated and it's very cosy. You can smoke inside. In the summer they have outside sitting which is pretty nice. They usually also have happy hours which is great
What a lovely place to visit while in Hamburg. This place is very cozy and has a few food choices most of them vegetarian or vegan. Really loved the place, will probably come back. The food is very good and the portions are big. As for the prices, I'd say they are typical from the city.
Great spot for drinks or lunch if you're visiting the Saturday flea market, service is a little carefree but the prices are nice and the garden is lovely. Right next to the stalls, it's a great people watching place too, with all the hamburger specialties you are allowed to expect. The patrons are of the eclectic type this part of town is party to but it's colourful and fun!
Recommended to us by Hamburg City Cycles as a place where the locals eat. Located on a quiet road. Staff helpful but didn’t speak the best English. This didn’t matter though as we got exactly what we wanted which was a fantastic currywurst. Portion sizes extremely good and great little addition was the Marie-rose dressing to the salad. This was all backed up by some really reasonable prices (2 main meals and 2 soft drinks all for £14). Will definitely go back to try some other dishes.
Good bar, although too bad the bar woman is extremely impolite towards non German, went for a drink cuz it was next to my hotel. I gotta say it was nice ambient and people were happy, the first barman was nice to serve me a gin & tonic (which was not on the menu), later i had the bar girl who i asked a rusty nail (my 2nd drink of the night, admit it, was not on the menu) and she complained that was not on the menu hence cannot be served. After that gave me the glares until i left while she was partying with her friends at the bar. It's a good bar but i felt totally unwelcome.

An ideal place for a few drinks at the heart of Altona. Casual and cozy atmosphere. They also serve tasty Flammkuchen. Staff is really nice and helpful.
