I often visit here. Both to sit in or take away. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Service is always quick. The food is freshly and home cooked. It is above the average cafe food quality so good to take friends to. I've had sandwiches, salmon and cream cheese on sort bread toast to name afew. Today I had the homemade sweet potato soup which was delicious. It had a little spice which made it ideal on this cold day. I definitely recommend this Café bar.

Great value, even better atmosphere. So much choice! I do try to plan my visits to the area to coincide with Foodie Friday as it does feel like a unique opportunity for socialising.

Over crowded over priced average food with rude crowds. A woman run over my foot with her pram then the boyfriend threatened to punch me if I said anything. Don't bother if you're a real foodie, it's just an excuse to go out drinking. Waited 40 minutes to get food from a single stall.

Working next door to SQ so me and the lads are always in there ! Excellent service from Chan, Gracie and the crew. Lots of homemade stuff, cakes, soup, and the gluten free brownies are out of this world !
Highly recommended 👍🏼
The pictures say it all ! A massive event in the heart of Stockport ! Amazing food from different cultures fresh on your plate ! Thousands turn up ! The setting is beautiful surrounded by iconic buildings ! Last Friday of every month ! Go your self and experience your self ! My saying is if you don’t photograph it of film it ! It never happened!

I'm sure this was great once and whilst there is still a nice vibe overall it is just far too busy for its own good. The minimum wait for food is around 30 mins. Endless queues.

Not been in for ages. Really lovely staff / owners. Food was delicious- I had the feta and beetroot salad, other half had a chorizo panini, daughter had tuna bloomer and we shared cheesy chips. Smoothies nice - daughter had berry one. I had an iced latte. They have 2 beers on tap too.

Even when you live somewhere long enough and you think you know it all you can miss something. This was one of those occasions where you walk through a door and come out surprised!
If your passing by and are a bit undecided then don't be. An excellent venue run by people with a passion for what they provide. Good food and drink at a reasonable price and a smile is not far away. Please enjoy.

Just tried this place for the first time and loved it. Gorgeous flavours in the creamy mushrooms on sourdough, delicious smoothie and hubby said his coffee was fab. Loads of stuff on the menu to choose from and it's a lovely space inside. Will definatly be coming back.

Enjoyed but very crowded in a small space drinks over priced, music and atmosphere good, food expensive, toilet queue was terrible, not much else to do so got bored after a while.

Always a great time at SQ. Regularly visit with work and a group of students - the staff are always patient and friendly. Really good coffee - best chai latte in Stockport! Food is always good too from all day breakfasts to jacket potatoes and paninis. Cosy setting!

My new favourite coffee and food place in Stockport!!
(I remember this place from years and years ago, when it was a tasty and characterful Pierre Victoire French restaurant for a while!!)
The old, original building has a very high ceiling - was it an old bank, originally??
Now, with original cast-iron radiators, some sofas, but otherwise clean, modern café tables and chairs.
A tidy, very reasonably priced brunch, salads and sandwich/soup menu, and coffees, shakes, etc.
Beautiful views out to the square with an old church building and clock tower.
On a sunny day, blue skies and nothing like Merseyway shops!! which is a real haven, in Stockport.
Close to the covered market.
The all day breakfast is so fresh and tasty! - proper bacon, tasty sausages and sourdough toast!! My companion had the Eggs Royale (poached eggs with smoked salmon) - which he said was also very good, fresh and well prepared/presented.
Good, tasty "Grumpy Mule" coffees!!
A hidden gem!! Deserves to flourish, despite its off-the-beaten-track location...!
Go if you can!!
We will be back, a.s.a.p.!!!
Great friendly service, from front of house and from cooking staff :)
Thank you :)

Never seen Stocky like this before.
So civilised compared to the late 80's ;)
Had some nice Spanish wrap. Atmosphere buzzing and constant queues for food and drink.
Visited last night with friends who are up from Brighton and what a fabulous night we had! Lovely to see stockport so full! Will definitely be back thanks for a great night ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
