A JK teacher tried diagnosing my child with autism the first day of school. The family doctor disagreed, child psychopathology doctor disagreed, Scarborough special ed teacher with her Masters disagreed. However, given I live amongst a vulnerable population it seemed to be the common story amongst my neighbours as well from the same school where teachers were trying to diagnose our children with things they are not qualified to do. My daughter had a traumatic JK experience with such teaching qualities. One teacher suggested I wash my childs mouth out with soap and thankfully I caught my daughter before it turned dangerous. There are many more negatives that occured however overall, for me and my neighbours, this was a very unhealthy school to send small children to and I will be applying for an out of bounds school now who hopefully has more patient or understanding teachers, unlike my daughters experience at 3 years old being told from her teacher shes never experienced such a child... and guess she didn't want to start. For me from a vulnerable population as with my neighbours, our journeys in this school have not been loving. I would say more bad things that occurred however I'll spare the essay.
I'm a graduate and everything is great. Fun trips, amazing staff, and a great location
I went there JK to grade 2 great school.
I remember going to a teacher in this school system and tell her of the abuse I suffered at home and she looked at me like I had 10 heads. I'll never forget having the courage to finally reach out for help and recieving that. Thanks Mrs. Sherry Thomas.
Beautiful Location. Elementary School at its best. Best teachers & huge play ground to offer students.
this school system is terrible. for the past 4 years of me going here I felt like I was being stripped of my culture. I felt like they wanted to me sensor my culture and water down my history to please everyone around me. This school has me oppressed everyday with the lack of representation and the fact that when we do represent our culture our peers laugh and take us for a joke. they have even mocked us before. At our school if we talk out we are wrong and seen a a threat rather than people. I do not see my peers that are not of colour having to deal with the same issue. I have been told before to get over it and overall I do not feel heard by my school whether it's the teachers, students, or admin. We even had an issue where there was racism going on and we were basically silenced and they basically cut us off and said that the presentation was over and basically we could no longer discuss anything and it felt like they silenced us not to mention that the presenter was not a person of minority nor would they be able to relate to any of to problems that we face on a daily basis. Honestly if you are a person of minority I do not suggest that you attend any type of catholic school in Whitby especially All Saints Catholic Secondary School.
Normally the buses run within a 5 min window, reflected on the DRT app. Today, my schedule was completely thrown off by horrible delays for connecting buses. The app did not reflect that there were delays and when I complained, someone called me and tried to tell me alternate routes. I don't want alternate routes, I want an app that updates in real time to reflect what the situation is. Horrible customer service and a complete communication failure.
Teachers will dictate what is in a child’s lunch box and will throw out anything they deem “unhealthy”
I called in to inquire an issue with my high school transcript and the woman that helped me on the phone went above and beyond on getting my issue resolved. I am very pleased with the service i received through this office and if i need any guidance in the future, this is the office i will go through. Amazing!
My brother owen c goes to that school
Did not do a thorough investigation when my daughter's finger was slammed in a steel bathroom door. We never found out how it really happened.
