La sélection de livres est excellente, mais l'attitude des libraires laisse à désirer. On a souvent l'impression de les déranger lorsqu'on sollicite un conseil. Je ne m'y rends que lorsque je sais exactement quel ouvrage je souhaite acheter.
Très bon accueil dans cette bibliothèque de la ville de Paris. J'ai choisi cette bibliothèque car elle est centrale, il y a toujours de la place pour s'installer et l'équipe est très serviable. Les activités proposées sont intéressantes également !

Lovely library that open on Monday when mamy other library closes. It was nice building with many old books and the stair is charming. I just enter the reading room, I wish there were more table. The coffee machine nearby with only 0.45€. Couldn't ask for more. It locates in a nice neighborhood.

La plus belle bibliothèque de Paris, avec sa vue magnifique sur le Jardin des Plantes ! Le personnel est très sympa, visiblement ce sont des gens bien formés, accueillants et compétents. Juste une petite critique : dommage peut-être que beaucoup de livres aient été écartés du prêt dans un souci de modernisme, ce qui donne l'impression d'un fonds restreint, avec un peu trop de livres de cuisine et de développement personnel (alors que la bibliothèque possède en fait des collections importantes de romans et de documentaires en tous genres)
A huge variety of design books. There few english books, of course being in Paris they are in french. But wonderful sort of displayed books.
We were so surprised to get in that library!! It was so big and bad all these very old books and manuscripts that you can actually rent. They also had huge maps of Paris throughout history. Really a great and unique library. If you are in the neighbourhood, I for sure recommend to visit it : it does not take too much time and is beautiful!
Centre Pompidou has several business inside of it including the library. I didn't buy anything from the library, although I passed it a couple of times and my friend checked out a book there. It is a nice set up and all.
Super bibliothèque située face au jardin des plantes. Personnel accueillant. Large choix de livres. Installations à disposition, tables et chaises. Lieu calme et agréable avec une belle vue sur le jardin.

Malheureusement l'espace enfant est squatté par les nounous qui ne surveillent pas les enfants dont elles ont la garde. Ils jettent les livres, "tombent" sur les autres enfants ou adultes qui s'occupent de leur enfant. Au delà de la gêne, de vrais soucis de sécurité, résultat un traumatisme crânien et un séjour aux urgences.

Une de mes bibliothèques favorite, le personnel est très serviable et amical. Il y a une grande sélection de livres.
De passage dans la capitale entre deux réunions professionnelles, agréable d'avoir un point de chute. Quelque peu bruyant avec l'école mais on s'y fait. Professionnel quelque peu incongru mais là pas sur qu'on s'y habitue.
Una grandissima e bellissima libreria, ci si potrebbero passare le ore, tante pubblicazioni interessanti da sfogliare e valutare. Diviso benissimo per sezioni ha veramente di tutto. Ovviamente quasi tutte in lingua francese 😇 .. ma tante anche in inglese… buona visita e buone letture !!’

J'ai découvert cette bibliothèque-havre de paix il y a quelques années et je suis vraiment enchanté par ce lieu calme, aéré, en plein centre de Paris mais préservé à l'écart de la circulation. On est accueilli par des personnes souriantes sympathiques qui vous préviennent de la fermeture avec tellement de gentillesse qu'on a envie de les remercier rien que pour ça. Le choix de livres est largement suffisant, il y a des tables de travail avec vue sur le Jardin des Plantes. Des conférences et spectacles sont planifiés dans un auditorium au dernier étage. Bref, un bijou de culture et de sérénité ! A réserver exclusivement aux personnes en recherche de calme et de silence. Chut ! Il ne faut pas trop le dire ! (:-))
I come here to study/do homework on my laptop. The public wifi from Paris has perfect signal inside the reading area. The tables have assigned numbers so you get a little square of space to work on. I recommend bringing a thin foldable bag to carry your things inside the room because you can’t bring in your laptop case or backpack, (or water bottle, sadly), so it would be messy if you carry what you need just with your arms. The chairs are comfortable enough. There are power sockets on the tables and lamps. Overall pretty good if you need to focus ;)
UPDATE: no one had told me anything for bringing my own little fabric bag with my belongings, but beware of this really rude lady that might yell at you for this. Then they give you a noisy plastic bag that who knows how many people has touched and that I’m sure is not disinfected.

La section jeunesse ouvre à 16h00 et pas 13h00 en semaine.... Donc on se déplace pour un titre spécifique et c'est porte close... Seul les retours sont acceptés. On peut le comprendre mais indiquez le de façon explicite sur google et sur vos sites.

Child section has a good variety of books. The premise is nice and clean.
Having lived in Paris over 6 years now, I can say that this beautiful library/study room is my favorite place to go when I have free time. If you like history- especially Paris history, you will appreciate the book collection of all things of historical significance that have happened in Paris since the last 2,000 years or so. If you want to work in the study room, you need to get a special library card. It's easy to do and free, but you need an identity photo and proof of address. Otherwise, you can still come and hangout in the public space which has books, magazines, maps, computers, and expositions. And the best part??

Les bibliothécaires sont très sympathiques, il y a beaucoup de choix pour les enfants - et en plus des activités très intéressantes et amusantes, comme par exemple des courts métrages réalisés avec les enfants.
Edit : ça fait maintenant près de 10 ans que nous fréquentons la médiathèque et le personnel est toujours aussi sympathique et serviable ! merci à l'équipe !

Attention en ce moment les horaires sont modifiés (vacances scolaires). Je n'ai pas pu y rentrer car arrivée aux horaires de période scolaire.
Jamais vu une bibliothèque où, à chaque fois que j'y suis, certain.e.s des bibliothécaires ou assistants parlent comme dans un hall de gare ! (mais ne sont pas gênées de faire des remarques aux personnes qui peuvent avoir oublié d'éteindre leur téléphone et par ailleurs ne disent rien aux parents des enfants insupportables...). Sinon, cette bibliothèque peut-être calme et agréable par intermittence...

Beautiful place. I love it. Is the most kind library that I know in Paris. They offer to you free coffee, tea, water, and biscuits. Additionally, is really quite place, perfect for study. Just a little bit boring to leave your stuff in a locker (why?)

Il est inutile de préciser les horaires sur internet si ce ne sont pas les bonnes. Alors je vais faire leur job à leur place: mesdames, messieurs sachez que cette bibliothèque n'ouvre qu'à partir de 13h pendant les horaires d'été. Si vous venez pour y travailler tranquille, je vous conseille de prévoir d'aller à un café pas loin au cas où c'est fermé.
