Small, lovely, inviting, creative classes. My experience is with the children’s classes that incorporate science. We love them. Parking can be challenging. I

Huguenot library, or as me and my friends called it: The HUG Library, was a staple of my memorys in High School. I used to love loitering on the computers around here going on all sorts of funny websites and using the black screen they had to hide what I was doing. The place is small, but makes up for it by having multiple floors. They have a decent selection of books I would say, but slightly lacking compared to some other libraries I've been too. I remember the people who worked here being cool people for the most part too.

This is a fantastic building/establishment. It is a branch of the New York Public Library. Having been to many different branches of the New York Public Library, inside of Staten Island and outside in other boroughs, this particular location in comparison to the others is grade A. It has multiple levels/floors, separating different purposes or intentions for coming to the library to avoid confusion and keep a cool, calm, and quiet environment. Great place to research or study, and it has a large selection of books and information.

Just great to know the library has summer pop up tents. The workers were extremely helpful and supportive. The workers really go far and beyond to help anyone who walks in.

What friendly security guard as posted in previous review? This dude from Securitas Security was on his cell phone when I entered library to return book. This guy needs retraining! First, cell phone usage only for breaks and lunches, not when you are supposedly guarding doorway. Multi-tasking!!! Cell phone in one hand and temperature gadget in the other.
This security guard talked down to me. I am not a three old child. This doesn't fit here in Huguenot. You don't talk down to people. He needs to change his tone of voice

Honestly, the place is really old and it is kind of smelly. The elevator is sooo slow. Children’s library is pretty good and clean, and they have nice activities.

The staff is so helpful and nice, the bathroom is clean and all the computers work. My kids love going to do the art and crafts.

This is a smaller branch, but a vital community institution. Its holdings are limited, but one can order books from other branches and pick them up/return them here. Excellent service, kind and knowledgeable staff, reliable internet. Often hosts excellent children's programs downstairs. However, it is not always an ideal place for quiet study. It is much louder than the Great Kills branch. There is a children's area downstairs and a quiet adult area upstairs, but children must go upstairs to check books in and out. Parents have no choice but to bring crying babies and energetic children into the adult area. It's a small space, so that amplifies the noise. On some days, this is not a problem. On other days, it's too noisy to work. Kids are kids and it's not their fault, but the library should consider bringing back the downstairs desk to better control the noise. I suspect, however, that the city would not give them the needed resources.
