Great venue. You will overheat, though -- old building = no AC!
Quaint, lovely piece of Victoria's heritage. Comfortable seats, small venue.
What a neat little corner of Victoria. And there's the belfry theatre in the middle of it. Very cool. Came here for a show and would come back here if fate brought me again. The boys choir is touring Western Canada so check their website if your interested. The theater is well kept and feels new. Seating could be more comfy but the views and angles are great. Had a chance to go upstairs too.
Beautiful and intimate theatre. Our group enjoyed performing here. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. 👍

Wonderful spot! My partner has taken me here for two seasons of shows. I’m not really at show person, but had the most wonderful experiences here. They are pay what you will. Come see a show it’s cheap and like nothing else in town

The venue is charming, intimate and has more comfortable seats than I expected. Make sure you get seats with good visibility. The performance of "The Lehman Trilogy" was outstanding, completely absorbing for its 3 hour length. Victoria is lucky to have a small local theater like the Belfry. We will likely become subscribers.

I love the Belfry. They do an excellent job with the plays that they choose and I generally enjoy their choices. They are in a fabulous neighbourhood with lots of great spots to eat or have a drink before or after the show.

Poor leg room in the otherwise excellent seating - not suitable for long performances. Otherwise, an updated building with the intimacy of a small theatre.
We saw the play "Five Women Wearing the same Dress". We really enjoyed the Play and the theater itself. A cosy atmosphere with a lounge where you can get a glass of wine and a snack during the intermission.

We have always supported community theater and and have seen bad and sometimes excellent shows. This production is in a category all its own on the bad side and my wife and I ask ourselves if we had ever seen a worse production and could not think of one. To begin the play itself was poorly written. Clearly, the play writer had a particular audience in mind which is likely the post adolescent, immature, crude no nothings, which is a very small percentage of people that age. It wasn't just the over the top language, sex, alcohol, dope, but the monotony of the dialogue reminding us of the life choices these girls made.

Acting? With perhaps 2 actresses it was miscast. Better actors could have been found in the local high schools. The two women with the tattoos were interchangeable and seemed to think that the yelling of their lines was the only way to capture emotion. Surely the director could/should have caught this. However, I must admit that it would be hard for a good actor to save this play.

Amazing arts/music venue that has been doing great events for 15+ years. The vibe is very relaxed and fun. They host tons of different genres and every night I've been is busy and fun. Check it out!

Cool venue for ☠️D.O.A., Neurospazm, and White Collar. It was kinda nice having seats available and cups of water!
Vic wouldn't be Vic without this space for the bizarre and exchanging arts

As a student, it's got alot of issues, as do all theater programs, but it has the broadest scope of skill teachings, and if you try, you can leave with the ability to do many jobs spread out between focuses. I can hang a light, build a set, sew, Asm and board OP from two years of being there. Our shows are alright, but keep in mind that we are students.
One of the best events spaces in Victoria, staff are lovely, events are always fun, and there's pinball!

Keith Alessi is a gift to society! The ability to take a snapshot of life, the roller coaster it is, with its tremendous downs, ups, downs and poignantly deliver the story thru the immense gift of story telling, fun jokes & banjo playing of what it took to get back up, to take those steps and elevate one's heart, body, mind soul and in the process elevate ours too was nothing short of FABULOUS & AMAZEBALLS. 🪕💥♥️💥🪕💥 I loved it. Let the Closet Cleaning Begin! ♥️😎♥️
I love this venue. Every night it's different, from burlesque to comedy, from storytelling to blues, from electronic music to burlesque... The list goes on. The team works incredibly hard to curate a safe, inviting, and inclusive space for BIPOC, LGTBQ+, and all those who attend.

If you haven't already checked out this non-profit venue, I highly recommend it. ❤️

I'm a little bias but this student operated theatre is one of my favorite theatres on the island. Every season brings new and fun plays to the stage.

Amazing place to go and see a show. The fact that they have a sliding pay scale gets huge respect for me, helping theatre be open to everybody and not just those who are wealthy.

Cozy live theatre experience. Hot L Baltimore had some good acting, sets, costumes. Not my fave play, but the cast and crew did a lot of things right. Theatre itself needs to put railings in along stairs, as there were several near-miss trips/falls the evening I was in the audience.
I went with my mom and dad, we had a great time! Awesome set design, intriguing plays, and a nice spot to sit down and have some drinks and snacks before the play, and during intermission. We're very excited to visit again!
Productions are amazing and high quality. Seating is very tight, I'm just under 6' tall --my knees are wedged against seats in front. Seats are not that comfortable and have seen better days, so it's painful and distracting for attending a 2-hr production. Parking is difficult for mobility impaired. Almost all surrounding area is resident only on streets. Give yourself lots of time to find a place to park legally. Access by transit requires a bit of a hike through this neighbourhood.

What a fabulous theatre experience at Langham Court! With its small size and limited set/stage changes- you really get to see the absolutely talented actors front and centre. I just saw Murder Weekend, and couldn’t be more impressed by the actors. Amanda Spurlock, in particular, brought her character to life, and enthralled the audience. Bravo to the entire cast and crew!! The directing was brilliant as well. I can’t wait to see another show!
Audition went nicely. I'm too old for the part -- but the director, producer and Stage Manager were very very kind! Will post video when it becomes available.

I think Asking credit card info over the phone is not safe. I reserved 2 sits and they charged me for one. When I called again for that they told I should and stand in the line for other sit :/ but was friendly! The scenes and sits are cozy and you have the chance to be very close to performance, but there is few sit in the center, where performers are facing to. University performances are always novel and real as they don't have commercial intentions

I went to see Othello & was impressed with the production. The characters were well chosen for their roles, the black & white theme for costumes made for an effective & non distracting theme, the sets were interesting visually & suc an effective use of space. As student production it was well done.

We always enjoy the plays at the Belfry Theatre. The actors and stage staff are professional and the plays are well produced and directed. I have attended live theatre for over five decades and what we see at the Belfry Theatre is among the best I've seen.

The Belfry Theatre is fully accessible and the front of house staff and volunteer ushers are helpful and considerate.

Well it's a theatre for university student plays. The set design is always impressive for University Students. The acting is always good.

An intimate theatre used to stage student productions through the University of Victoria. Impressed by the level of professionalism.

Women's washrooms far too small to serve a full house at intermission; small snack bar is cash only; coat rack (not coat check) is unattended.
