I went to visit my aunt's grave this morning to find it completely buried under about 6ft of dirt that had been removed from a neighbouring couldn't even tell that she was buried there I'm glad my grandmother wasn't with us because I think it would have killed her to see what they had done to her daughter's grave

Beautiful cemetery to the left of the R122 road as you drive towards the Nail. Very peaceful.

It can be dated as far back as the 12th century and the Lord of Clochran, Ryryd, the son of a Welsh prince. The name Cloghran also dates from that time meaning ‘Stone of Song’ – a reference to the limestone hill and church, the ruins of which remain inside the walls of the graveyard. The last burials believed to be in the 1930s. Locals state that the massive stone walls which surround it date from the 1700s.
The wonderful local preservation society have kept the place immaculately, including raising funds for restorations and repairs. When I arrived the gates were locked, I believe the gates are locked al year round.
*EDITED after research* Cloghran graveyard, a refurbished cemetery in north Dublin that was derelict for 50 years, has had to be closed again in 2019, after the insurance premium of the group that restored it doubled..

Very upset and hurt.
My mother died in May this year, so in the midst of this awful covid pandemic.
I planted some autumn flowering plants on her grave on the 13th of September, Visit 21st of September to water the plants.
Only to see on the 28th that 6 plants have been dug up and removed.
I have no words.

Typical Celtic cemetery.

Very well kept

Nice clean graveyard

Really needs a second entrance it’s a very very long walk to the back especially for the elderly.

Great place to end up. Why does a cemetery need a review anyway? Surely the dead know better than anyone?
