Great collection of Military History and information about the wars and some great History on the items on display.
Very nice lady in charge. Pleasant , Educated and willing to share. I learned some things I honestly did not know after 46 years. Interesting displays of Nature, Animals, and Changes world is experiencing. A large Cypresss Knee caught my eye. RR display was nice. Older than me. I think the children would enjoy visiting. I did. Only a big child. Restrooms were spotless too.
Small private display of military items from revolutionary war to Iraqi Freedom. The library is very impressive with lots of military books.
Good entry price on Groupon.

Very nice "museum" to start your stroll/hike through the park. Gives you good background information about the development of the area from about the early 1800dreds.
Just had a fantastic family outing at the Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum. Firstly, the outdoor walking trails are a treat. There are two distinct paths, both easy to maneuver, thanks to their concrete and deck-like surfaces. These well-maintained trails offer a serene stroll through nature, making it enjoyable for both young kids and adults alike.
Inside, the museum was an unexpected delight. Immediately noticeable was its cleanliness, a detail that certainly extends to their restrooms as well. After enjoying the outdoors, the museum's air conditioning provided a welcomed cool down. The place is tastefully decorated, featuring a plethora of taxidermy-style fake animals set within full diorama room-size settings – it felt like stepping into various slices of Florida's rich past.
Beyond the aesthetics, the museum does an excellent job of presenting pieces of significant historical importance. It offers a comprehensive look into the region's heritage, from early settler stories to natural history. For a father of two curious daughters, it was enlightening to see them so captivated by the blend of history and nature. If you're in the area, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit!

Very thoughtful design and layout of this military museum. They really did a fantastic job of making the most out of the space. There's so much to see and learn here I promise you will see something you missed your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th visits. Definitely a must if visiting Central Florida. Also, huge win on having a recent section for Vet's like myself to reflect on. OIF/OEF here. 06-07. Bonus. Very kid friendly.
Interestingly, in the installation about the Second World War, the role of the USSR is practically not indicated. Whereas the USSR took upon itself the entire blow of the German fascists
We saw this place upon arriving in the Orlando area down from our hotel. My daughter is a history buff so we decided to visit the following day. Don't let the small appears of the building fool you. It's quite spacious inside and a friendly staff. It took us an hour and half to tour. When we arrived there was only two cars in the parking lots for a Wednesday afternoon but families slowly start coming.
The building on the outside looks small, but don't let it deceive you. It is jam packed in there with a library! So very cool. I love how all of the items were donated to the museum. We were able to see the individual stories for a lot of our veterans for the different wars as well.
Definitely overlooked visitor ctr/historical museum. Friendly & knowledgeable attendant. Worth the trip inside.
They definitely have some interesting and detailed displays. Saw many things I've never seen in any other museum. The library, that you can join to check out books, has a very impressive collection of military and history books.
Only reason for the 4/5 is it's a bit small. The whole thing only took just over an hour. Hopefully they can continue to expand and improve.

We were greet by a very nice lady at the front desk. She gave us some directions and we walk around the museum. Is free very important, thank you Osceola county for that. You can see some of the history of Osceola. They have a lot of item used in the past 1900's. Also next door is the Shingle Creek trail.You can do kayak, bicycle, run and more. Such a great place to spend a fun day. We'll come back.
This is my second time there. I love this place. Looking back at Osceola County's history is amazing. I am originally from Osceola County and it is crazy how much it has changed over the years. This place is like stepping back in time. It is a wonderful place to bring your family!
The Osceola County Historical Society Experience is amazing and definitely a must see with the family! This place is loaded with Osceolas History and the Staff is Very Knowledgeable! Did I mention it was free 👊😎👊 Have a wonderful Time
This place has lots of interesting displays and fun activities for kids of all ages. The building is not very big but it is packed with information! My teens and I walked through the exhibits three times and found new things (plus things that we missed) each time. Learn the history and nature of the area, or get souvenirs, or just get information for local attractions. Whatever your reason is for being in the area: I suggest that you add this welcome center to your list.
