Rick did a phenomenal job with a rush order for a property in DC. It was a family project which only makes it twice as an important to use a skilled appraiser to help you get an expert's opinion. I very much recommend and hope to work together again in time.
Rick was great to work with: prompt, courteous, professional. I spoke to him at length about the appraisal process and he clearly was very experienced, knowledgeable and thorough. Without charging me an extra fee, Rick went above and beyond providing me an appraisal. My house burned down because of a fire, and I asked him to appraise my house with certain changes that I was going to make. In addition, I asked him to recommend key changes to the house that could add extra value. He provided very specific recommendations that he estimated would allow me to move to another "category" of house and add hundreds of thousands of dollars to the value. Rick was very patient with a multitude of questions and even reached out to a local real estate agent friend to evaluate his construction recommendations. I was happy to have a data-based approach to reconstruction.

Rick appraised my mother's house in Arlington VA and was very thorough and professional. I needed an independent appraisal of my property for the purpose of selling, but it's a unique property with a main home and separate rentable guest house.
First, his turnout time was phenomenal. He was out at the property within a week, and I received the appraisal a few days later.
The appraisal initially looked good. I have bought and sold many houses in my life and seen lots of appraisals, and his appraisal was very thorough, including a good analysis of the GRM (gross rent multiplier) for the Income Approach, which is appropriate for commercial properties. Unfortunately, when it came to the Sales Approach, because of the uniqueness of the property, there were very few relevant comps, but he did a good job of searching and adjusting the values of other properties that weren't perfect comps.
His initial appraisal included two mistakes on the most relevant comp. I discussed this with him and he quickly corrected, re-analyzed, and sent me a new appraisal. All appraisals will have minor mistakes (wrong square footage of one comp, wrong number of bathrooms of another, etc.), and the only reason it mattered in my case was because there was only one really good comp. In 99% of cases, these minor glitches wouldn't matter. No matter who does your appraisal, always read it and make sure nothing important was left out.
I was impressed by his thoroughness and professionalism. He also knows the area (Arlington) well, and knew the nuances of different neighborhoods. I'll happily hire him for my next appraisal.

We need an appraisal done and Rick provided a quick, thorough one within a day of the request. He is professional, courteous and responsive to calls and/or texts. I will definitely reuse him if we dver need another appraisal.
Rick was great! He did a thorough report in exactly the timeframe I needed it completed. He was also very flexible on scheduling the appointment. I had to cancel our original time at the last minute and it was no problem. I would definitely use Rick again!
