I was amazed by this small museum and learnt a lot of things about Mersin and the region
70 years ago I spent my childhood around this place Roman remains, it was covered with Orange, lemon, tangerine trees Fields. There were more columns in 1955 over the years people damaged many columns, broke them possibly looking for treasure. After so long visiting this place all modernised and local authorities kept it protected. I was extremely happy to be there . We used to live the north side of these columns in a Orange fields, my grand father was a gardener . We used to walk through these columns to the sea and swam.
Nice medium sized museum. If you are only going to stay in Mersin and not visit nearby towns, don’t skip it. It’s one of the few cultural things to do/see in Mersin.
This center museum of Mersin stores and publish the best archeological sites and objects from before centuries. You can take lots of aesthetic photos here too! (Which i did a lot haha).

A great history viewer place.
In my opinion, Mersin is the only town in East Turkey with the educational museums. One of the best museum is this archeology museum, come earlier since you’ll see a lot of interesting stuff here. I came here twice because I didn’t have enough time exploring. There was a line before I enter and it takes few minutes to wait for your turn to enter. If I had kids I’ll definitely bring them here.
Very Interesting to visit. I have been lucky enough to visit many Museums in Turkey & they are all Very Well Presented. The Information on The Exhibits are given in English & Turkish which I am sure visitors will find helpful. As with all Museums in Turkey the Place is kept spotlessly clean.
Great museum about all things archeology. The museum has a chronological flow with lots of artifacts on display. Very educational for the kids. There is an entrance fee .

Closed because of covid as they say while the literally next door museum is open
Very good museum! 2 floor, elevator. Open now. Price 10£. Interesting collection. Before we was soli pompous, after in museum see another part. All history, how live. I liked that there is a part of the excavation and it was completed how it was applied or what happened. No fencing, which gives a more complete immersion in the atmosphere. Other museums worth learning. Who want make photos, need knew that light not enough. Camera need with good ISO. I am delighted! Recommend!
Mersin Archeology Museum is located in a very spacious place.
Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Muslim Civilizations is a museum worth visiting.
You can watch important developments in Turkish Maritime History in Mersin Maritime Museum.
This museum provided a great overview of Turkish Maritime History right from the 15th century and the Ottoman times...
