Such beautiful scenery. Takes your breath away. You didn't have to go right up to the top to see this scenery, which is good because I'm unable to climb too far. Just looking up and seeing this beautiful scene above you. Would definitely recommend a visit . You would miss out on some stunning scenery if you didn't go.
Had a great half day here. Paid £24 per person to see the 2 caves, cheddar movie, museum and Jacobs ladder and tower and really enjoyed it
It was closed. Yes, on arrival most of the tourist traps of cheese, cider and fluffy toys were open, but the caves were closed.
Then to cap it all, there are two parking charges, 9:00am to 9:00pm £6. Or 3pm to 9pm, £4. Toilets had seen better days, think local council are taking the perverbial! However, had a pleasant walk around, saw some goats, lots of rushing water, very friendly staff in shops.
Fantastic experience walking through these amazing caves. It was very quiet on the day we visited, and we we felt like we were the only people in there. Beautifully lit, the commentary was very informative and the guide at the very back of the caves gave us some more information.
We went on a weekday out of the school holidays and it was not busy at all. The caves were really impressive, fascinating formations, interesting history. We walked up jacobs ladder and the tower, good views all round. It was a bit pricey at £24 but they did do an NHS discount. Lovely little shops, cafes and street to walk down outside.

Great place for stopping on the motorcycle. Park in the car park adjacent and grab a coffee over looking the waterfall
Caves that are well cared for, accessible and breathtaking. Cheddar itself is a lovely town even on a rainy day and the caves provide good shelter and activity for a few hours. The walk/climb up Jacobs Ladder is tough but worth it if you can manage. Spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.
Cheddar Gorge is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. The breathtaking limestone cliffs and stunning views create an unforgettable experience. Exploring the caves reveals fascinating geological formations, while the surrounding trails offer invigorating hikes. The area's rich history, combined with its natural beauty, makes it a truly unique and awe-inspiring spot. Highly recommended!
Be a cave man/woman and explore the super natural beauty of the caves with paths leading all the way in and out it's easy to navigate through, but there are some steps to climb but it's worth it.
With plenty of shops of all types down the main road cafes and restaurants, you're not stuck for a drink or something to eat. Parking is plenty, but you may struggle as it gets very busy.
Enjoy your day.
Amazing experience. We had great weather so that made a huge difference

Sat right at the top of Jacobs ladder, the Lookout tower offers some great views.
The easy way to get here is via Jacobs ladder, but the climb is very arduous and very steep.
It sits on the South side of the Gorge and from the tower you can see for miles.
There are distances and destinations included on the towers structure at the top and its quite fun to spot the closer one's from the viewpoint.
The other way to reach it is to walk the South side Gorge walk from the top. It's about 2k in total and I'd way less effort the climbing the steps.

Good views of the surrounding countryside -
but not so much of the gorge itself.
This rock Rocks!

Nothing special. Nothing to see from the top of the tower. I was expecting to see more from the top. It would have been nice if they would build a tower overlooking Cheddar. All the scenery is being hidden by the trees. If you want to clime all the way up and see the trees, then it’s a right choice for you.

Beautiful little waterfall with fast flowing water. There is some construction work going on nearby. They have also installed a unicorn right next to it, so if your kids love unicorns, they are going to be in for a pleasant surprise.
Fantastic place to visit, though rather busy. I would definitely go again as this was my first time. Sadly didn't visit the caves.

I expected a view of the gorge but it was obstructed by trees, the better view is 180 degrees of the surrounding countryside.

If you've walked up Jacob's ladder then it's worth walking the extra steps to see the panoramic views.

Beautiful feature running through Cheddar Gorge. Relaxing to sit near and watch for a while. Free to visit, plenty of shops and restaurants around. Free public toilets also situated near here.

Lovely place to visit with local shops and restaurants. Some parking on the road otherwise there's carparks at the top and bottom of the gorge. Chedder caves is also worth a visit if you've not been before. There is also Jacobs Ladder... A walk up 300+ steps to the top of the gorge and a nice walk along to the other side, fantastic views and you might get to meet the locals 🐐

A 10 mins walk on 275 stairs. Nice views from the tower. There is a connection to further walk up the hill from top point. Bit of stones at top

If you want astonishing views you'd better go up the Cliff walk. In less than 20 min walk you'll have much better views. The tower won't satisfy your high standards for a proper view. It's also quite narrow and it can get a bit crowded.

Not much to it, but worth a look for the nice views over the area. Go up via the Lippiatt and Lynch Lane!

300 steps just to find out the tower was closed, and no views whatsoever due to high dense trees, but I'm sure the views are nice from the tower, just would have appreciated a sign at the bottom informing people of the closure.
Nice place

Great views of surrounding area and the cheddar gorge. It’s a good workout to walk up the 274 steps and up the slope to an amazing views. Highly recommend it but make sure you have good walking shoes and be prepared for steep walk up to the looking up point :-)

The videos and the set up are very creative. After visiting the main cave, this one is entertaining and interesting. It’s more about the atmosphere. I love it.

Dreadful! Way too dark to admire the beauty of the caves. Then my girls found it very creepy with the weird voice and constantly insisting on death and the wolves. Strip it back...get rid of the weird visuals and voice... light up the beautiful caves. Gough's cave was incredible...this was a disappointment.

Visited here because it was included in the overall ticket for the day. It is an interesting installation, however it was not always clear when to progress to the next chamber so I was left feeling like I've missed out by rushing ahead too quickly or not moving on in time.

Good job this was free as part of entry to the main cave or we would have asked for our money back! Most entertaining thing was the woman behind laughing at the cheesy dialogue. Despite everything, the cave and the stalactites/mites are pretty good.
Brilliant and entertaining

Audio visual tour with special effects inside Cox's cave. You walk through different chambers with a 3 minute presentation in each, lasts for about 25 minutes. Cleverly done.

This was the best part of our day and my son really enjoyed the video clips. It was a bit confusing as to when we were supposed to stop but still really fun and informative.

This is the best attraction of the whole package of the Cheddar Gorge and caves. You enter into the cave and into a journey back in time. With the help of projectors, you can see how people in prehistoric times used to live. The whole concept of the experience is just amazing. I do not recommend it though to people that feel uncomfortable in confined spaces, cos the passage becomes smaller and smaller at some point.

Fairly new cave attraction - re-done for this year 2017

Multiple use of colour and projectors to show life in the caves for Iron Age man. some great animations as you explore the caves accompanied by a soft female poetic narrative which is quite haunting. Included in the Cheddar caves package. Try and wait for a quite time, first thing is best, before the kids coaches, more atmospheric if it's quiet.

Much better than tired old Wookey Hole - try it.
