This remarkable site, perched high above the northern shore of Lake Champlain, is a treasure trove of American history. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to fully enjoy everything it has to offer, as ample parking is available. The landscape presents some challenges, with certain areas featuring steep inclines and plenty of stairs to navigate.

As you explore the fort, you'll encounter a rich collection of historical artifacts that vividly illustrate the past, including impressive cannons and engaging reenactments of the French and Indian War. The displays showcase an array of weaponry, poignant letters of historical significance, and captivating pictorial depictions of life during that era, along with an assortment of period clothing.

While the fort once housed a genuine scalp as part of its exhibits, this artifact is no longer part of the collection. Nevertheless, the site offers a wealth of activities and sights. Wander along the scenic hiking trails or visit the charming house surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. After a day of exploration, you can relax at the onsite cafe or browse through the gift shop for unique souvenirs. This enchanting location is a must-visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in history and enjoy stunning natural beauty.

What a blast! Exceptional performances by the staff, very well curated museum and tons of history. A very immersive experience, from the well appointed soldiers and ladies to the authentically
cooked meal they ate, crafts they made and so on. Well worth the money and time. Hope to return again in spring!

What a cool piece of history! The fort is in a beautiful location and beautifully maintained. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to make so much of it accessible! Some places require a bit of walking, but overall there were ramps and railings and it was easy to see the bulk of the fort. The museum exhibits were fascinating. The gift shop is cute and we had a bite to eat in the Cafe, it was reasonably priced and delicious with fantastic service. We went during the early fall, the weather was perfect. Highly recommended if you enjoy history!

If you are in the Ticonderoga area, you must go see the Fort. The property is very well cared for, the tour guides as well as all other employees are very knowledgable, and you'll learn a lot about the history. There is a lovely cafe right on premise, the Kings Gardens are always well manicured and divine, and there is even an opportunity to take a boat ride from the gardens. They have many different events and special excursions throughout the season. A great family friendly place to visit.
Always easy to launch and trailer here and never very busy. Inspectors have always been friendly. A little out of the way but easy to navigate theough this area.

Ticonderoga is a bombed out old town with little to offer though other than the Star Trek museum which is amazing.

A very worthwhile visit! The tour guide was truly outstanding! The facilities, grounds, displays, and demonstrations were extremely well cared for and well done.

The entrance fee offers a military discount, but it still costs $52 and includes a token for Mount Defiance.

If you're in the area and like history, this would be a nice stop. They have a few employees in character doing daily tasks, such as armorer, bivouac cook, seamstress, and some that demonstrate the weapons and formations.

Nice gift shop, cafe, and restrooms. There's even an air-conditioned exhibit area to take a break from outside.

This is a huge fort with lots of history from the earliest days of our nation. Besides the fort itself, they have two museums with historic artifacts over several floors. They have many people in period costumes who give great tours, are firing guns, and are cooking typical meals of the period. There's also a beautiful garden, a corn maze, and a historic self-guided trail that you can walk or ride. Our guide (Audra?) was amazing..so much energy and knowledge. There's a large gift shop and a great little cafe with hot and cold sandwiches. Definitely worth a full day's visit.

I am from Vermont, but have lived in North Carolina for 20 years. While back visiting the area we decided on a day trip to Ticonderoga. The area was beautiful, the grounds were beautiful. Some parts under construction but it didn't impeded our time. The reenactment were entertaining. Everyone was happy from my 3 month old up to the grandparents.

Great tour, guides were very informative and the fort is restored better than ever! The cost of admission covers the fort, museum within, firing muskets, cannon and even a token to drive up to Mt. Defiance! Highly recommended part of our countries early history.
The help is very nice. We love Mossy Point

Nice flat paved trail along the water with signs for learning all about the chute. The bluest water I’ve seen in NY. Very clean, quiet & peaceful. #disabledhiker easy

Highly recommend buying tickets online, in advance of your visit. Research the digital archives and lesson plans from the website to highlight your experience of this must see historic destination. Hands down the absolute best reenactments and engaging staff anywhere.

Very cool place. Lodge sells some nice things, though I didn't buy anything at the time (road tripping it and wanted to stay light) but later wished I had gotten some things. The fort is very interesting, with views and rooms to explore, as well as has a lot of exhibition items. Something to be said about walking on the grounds of a place that had such a significant place in the past. (Honestly, never knew about this place until watching reruns of Outlander and decided to put this on my travels)
The Fort Ticonderoga Ferry is a beautiful ride across Lake Champlain that will save 30+ miles of driving. Beautiful 360 degree scenery. Great crew on board also.

I got to the Fort late in the day but I was still able to walk around and take my time with looking around. It is a phenomenal structure and it is an awesome place to bring your kids and teach them about an iconic Fort with a really cool sounding name!
Such a beautiful place to visit and get some incredible pictures!!

A stunning site, for its majesty, history, and restoration. Highly recommend making your way up and checking out this landmark to notable key points in North American history.

My only recommendation is to add a designated section honoring local indigenous tribes and acknowledging difficulties in our history (unless I missed it)

Nice place. Well kept. Good place to catch the ferry to Vermont.

This place is today in the middle of nowhere. But at various points in history this was the gateway to Invasion or repelling same. I found the site to be full of History. Very knowledgeable tour guides. Cool musket demonstrations. Fascinating to learn how many parties over the centuries have fought over gained and lost and regained and lost this place. I would say that the staff here succeed in bringing history to life. And I think that's a very good thing.

Nice way to cross Champlain. Easy and safe. Took 20 minutes on the h2o. Prepare to wait for a bit for the ferry to return.

I've lived in NY my whole life and just finally made it here. My wife and I happened to be I'm the area so we went to check it out. We didn't know it but it was an event weekend and they had the live reenactments happening. It was a really cool experience and we really enjoyed ourselves. I'm looking forward to going again and learning more about the history of our nation.

We did the add-on photos option and had such an awesome time! Our photographer, Anthony, was not only knowledgeable but took the time to get some great shots. His "behind the scenes" information was fascinating. The rest of the staff we encountered were very friendly as well. We plan to return with our daughters.

The fort is impressive, and historical information provided in most areas. I recommend the boat tour as the guide was highly knowledgeable. I also recommend their cafe for lunch. My salad and son's burger were delicious and better than several other meals we had on our week-long vacation. Call ahead to get the schedule of demonstrations for the date of visit.
Really nice captain and crew. Military discount was a surprise. Also surprised that it's on a cable. Never been on a cable ferry.
A beautiful casual walk following the impressive Lachute river. Fun for learning about the history of this spot.

Super cool and interactive trip! I most loved the gardens, but appreciated all of the history at the fort. Views of Lake Champlain were amazing, and staff was informative and fun. We didn’t plan enough time- you could easily spend 4 hours here.
A great walk hidden in downtown Ticonderoga.
One of the oldest continuously running ferries. I went across on a rainy day. Cost $3. There was lighting in the distance. The pilot let me stand in the bridge so I wouldn't get struck by lightning.

This place was THE HIGHLIGHT of our trip! An absolute must visit if you are a Trekkie. The staff was knowledgeable and our tour guide was so kind about taking pictures for us and answering questions. And the sets are AMAZING! It really felt like being on the Starship Enterprise. Love it so much that I will definitely go back and visit again when I can.
Before seeing Ft. Ticonderoga, got to watch the ferry approach from other side. Then, unload and reload with a full group of vehicles. Enjoyed watching this process up close.

This is a great place for any star trek fan! Especially if you like the original series. They seem to have 3 to 4 events a year so keep an eye out for them.

This is a must see for any Star Trek fans or those interested in early TV production. It was fun to see my more stoic husband get little kid excited. Highly recommend. Staff was friendly and our tour guide was very knowledgeable.
Gorgeous trailway and park overlooking LaChute waterfall. There is a playground with modern equipment. The trailways are mostly level, so it affords a comfortable hike.
Path is paved and interesting in the exercise station section of the trail. Nice place for a family picnic. Path is a gravel road behind houses for most of the rest. You can easily find a better three mile stroll up in these parts.
Nice scenic and historic trail going up to Lake George from the village of Ticonderoga.
"what was that forest of beautiful tall pink exotic flowers that greeted us at the parking lot?" The museum curator's intriguing answer--"KISS ME OVER THE GARDEN GATE": brought up from Thomas Jefferson's Monticello plantation! Wow! We were there only to buy an historical book. Got it with no Hassel and no entrance fee (unlike the new arrangement at fort Ti) but liked what we saw and will be back to pay for a proper tour. Felt welcomed, and enjoyed very informative and personable conversation. Worth it for anyone who loves history or archetecture. Go
This was a gorgeous little walk while my husband and I were on vacation. Only a 20 minutes drive from where we were staying and we were looking for some time to kill. My only regret was not having my bathing suit on me!! I’m not sure if you’re supposed to jump in but where it’s safe it looked so refreshing!!
We would definitely go back to this spot and use some of the workout equipment along the trail.
Little place to ramble mostly. Meets up with river several times and also exercise equipment that seemed old, and a nice little playground for the little at the end. Also a museum at the end. The kids had a lot of fun near the river in the beginning, watching sticks go down etc. The water rushing down the waterfalls (some manmade) were impressive!

Star Trek’s USS ENTERPRISE LIVES, and is found in Upstate New York! Calling all Trekkies to make this a Mecca destination as you step back into time to an exact set replica of the ORIGINAL STAR TREK series by Desilu Studios. James Cawley and his dedicated crew have created all aspects of the ship, with lights, sounds, colors.. it is as if you were beamed aboard on a unexpected voyage with Captain Kirk and Spock! Relevant not only for the ground breaking equality it showed onscreen with a bold diverse command crew at the time, Star Trek lighted the imagination for much of the technology we use today. Visit and see..William Shatner himself has visited often , and will do so again this July 2021.. remarking that not only is this a remarkable set and place to visit, that his travels upon Lake Champlain from Montreal to New York were some of the most beautiful country he has seen and best adventures in his life. Take the ferries if coming from Vermont, and don’t forget to visit Fort Ticonderoga and Mount Defiance! A wonderful surprising destination in the Adirondacks!
It's free, easy to get in and out, boat inspection on site, lots of parking for trailers. You'll need a Lake George sticker to launch, but they will sell you one on site. Make sure to get back in before they close the gate for the night or you'll be sleeping on your boat!

Awesome recreation of the original series set. The tour was excellent, the guide gave a lot of information about how the original set was made, like how an oven rack was part of the engineering section! My wife is more of a Trek fan, but I thought it was great. Even the teenagers who had never seen the original series enjoyed themselves.

Great launch. Shallow angle ramp. Totally protected from wind and waves/wakes. Docks are stable and have rubber cushion so fenders are not necessary. Deep keel boats should be wary of the end of the ramp at about 5ft depth. My 22ft Whaler slides off well before the rear trailer axle reaches the end of cement.
Parking is ample but the flow can be strange when crowded on weekends. If there is a fishing tournament on Lage George, the lot fills early in the morning.
Love this quiet and protected ramp!

Great attraction with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Happy to see it back open following the pandemic.
If you get a tour with Mr. Cawley he is the best.

This is "have to be seen to believed" quality. Like walking on the Enterprise right out of the 60's show.

Great suspension of disbelief as if you were there mixed with learning the magic behind the scenes. Learn the history behind the sets and props and how the show was created and filmed.

Just a wonderful place to go!!!

Nice launch. Easy access with double wide ramp for two boats to load or unload or load at the same time. Ferry crossing right here as well to cross over and cut your time down from traveling all the way around the lake.
Rustic restroom facilities but clean and usable.
Free boat launch at northern tip of Lake George. The parking lot does get filled up, yet I very rarely have to wait to launch. Staff is friendly. They will tag your boat so you wont need another hull inspection next time you launch . 4 bays to launch. I enjoy this boat launch.
Love this short trip into Vermont. We bike up this way every spring and it's one of our favorite routes. Reasonably priced and a lot of fun.
Great public launch, staffed during the daytime so you can purchase a Lake George sticker if needed and have your boat cleaned before entering the queen of American lakes to ensure it stays clean. You can also have your boat tagged if you plan to return so you can skip the cleaning step.
Great location to launch your boat. No problems, friendly staff. Great parking. Boat inspection station.
