Hands down one of the best museums I've ever visited! This place is less a museum and more a set of art installations. It showcases the lives and beliefs of the various tribes in Madhya Pradesh through installations.
This museum was clearly conceptualized by someone who knew what they were doing and was super creative on top of that. I love the way they seem to have collaborated with local artists to create the installations.
The galleries were not only super interesting, but also Insta-friendly enough to appeal to the younger generations. My only quibble is that the boards with the explanations were difficult to read because of the poor lighting.
Overall, an absolute must-visit if you're in Bhopal city.

Excellent displays. The museum has re-invented the experience of visiting a museum and makes it more fun for adults and kids alike. Each part of the museum is colourful, vibrant and so aesthetically done, while introducing us to the lives of various tribes in the region, and their practices, architecture, arts, crafts etc.
The museum contains several articles made by tribal people in Madhya Pradesh. The items are exhibited in an orderly manner. Overall, it was a satisfactory tour of the museum.

A Vishnu temple named as birla mandir in bhopal, quite a nice place you will find peace here and if you visit in the evening then you will be able to see such a nice view from the right side of the temple, you can see the entire bhopal from here.
The place is absolutely clean and beautiful. Perfect and comprehensive representation of tribes across Madhya Pradesh. You shall get to explore all components of their life from games to spiritual beliefs. Housing and other architecture and art as well.
This is a place which recently garnered good amounts of attention because of aesthetics.
There was hardly any historical context I found about this structure mentioned anywhere in the building.
But they are trying to build this as a museum showcasing past 200-300 history of Bhopal and its establishment.
The restoration work is still going on.

Of course it has stories to tell, but they are about submission to power and loathing in self benefits these Nawabs lived as without any significant legacy to be proud of.

Great museum to understand the exciting tribal culture and the ancient ones. It gives us an understanding of how diverse is our culture, heritage, art, food, music, games and even our needs of existence.
What I likes most is the promotion of various art forms starting with tribal artists and musicians. Had the opportunity to see the world class display of the Gond tribal art, meet the artist and even buy some of her paintings.

One of the best museums where we can find great insight on our tribal and ancient cultures. Private vehicles or reserved auto or cabs should be the preferred mode of transportation to reach here. The phone camera charges are separate from the entry fees. So if you do not want to pay, keep your phone in your vehicle. Different tribal cultures and communities are shown magnificently using creative and unique designs. Must visit places for family and children during winter and spring. Highly recommended.
Golghar is one of the best places in Bhopal, filled with Precious historical pictures of Bhopal and memories of Bhopal's nawabs.

Very beautiful temple of lord Lakshmi Naryan. It has a birla museum adjacent to it which is also good. You can get the view of the lower lake and the city of bhopal from the hill top. The best time to visit is in the evenings.

Built over 150 years ago, near the lower lake and district commandant office of Bhopal, is the ancient Khatlapura Mandir devoted to Lord Ram. Besides the idol of the main deity, Khatlapura Mandir houses beautiful statues of Laxman, Sita, Lord Shiva sitting on Nandi, Lord Ganesh and may other God and Goddesses. Dol-Gyaras is an annual fair held here that lures a lot of devotees and tourists.

The views are amazing. It's not crowded and you can definitely have some amazing peaceful moments to spend quality time with your loved one. Art gallery is superb. Loved it.

An absolute paradise for a person who understands architecture. The play of spaces within various levels. The sheer thought process behind designing the whole space is very accurate. The use of proportion to get accurate building heights that in turn enhance courtyard spaces. The design of these spaces itself invites people to conduct various kinds of public entertainment activities or just a relaxation space. The oat and the view of the bada talab beyond which the masjid could have been visible at some point of time. Charles Correa just showcased the in-depth understanding of context and usage of discs in the best possible way.

Nice place, a good number of paintings of different artists are exhibited. But a little bit of the description of these paintings are to be given.
Beautiful place for a weekend visit on as a part of heritage walk this place is right now under restoration after the restoration is done it showcases the history and culture of bhopal.it is one of the oldest structure standing and open for public. It has a beautiful ceiling made of stone and timber in circular shape and around the corridor the colourful Play of light due the presence of colour glass doors and the cozy staircase with a small opening for light beautifully creates a curiosity to climb to terrace the terrace gives you beautiful views all around with the old structures besides it.

It's a good temple to visit. It was the first time that I had been to any Birla Mandir. The msg written instead were very complex to understand, but I liked the overall feeling of being there. They have kept racks to place your shoes, and there is enough parking near the Temple, which avoids the rush.
I feel very peaceful whenever I visit the temple. I’m able to connect and feel the power around me. I often got jitters while meditating in a positive way and introspection of me within me. The people who look after the setup are humble and always have smiling looks.
They have Gaushala, books to sell, a milk outlet to sell milk and ghee, a healthy juice centre, and an acupuncture walk with three variations.
When I mention counters to sell milk, ghee or juice centres, it does not make money. They are opened with Seva Bhav and offer everything at less than the production cost. It is also to provide or pave the way for a healthy life.
To add to a healthy life, they have a yoga coach in the morning to practise classes.
Finally, everywhere, you will find many social messages that make the overall setup content rich and inspire you to live a healthy, beautiful, responsible life.

It is built by Nawab Shah Jahan Begum under her rule during1868-1901. This spectacular building consists of 32 beautifully crafted decorative doors. It is having round galleries having stairs which leads upwards on the roof. The upper chamber has a dome, the pillars are round and the doors are ornate. The dome has been painted using the colors purple, yellow, orange, red, brown and green. Upstairs is a circular veranda, covered with a sheet of tin, which is based on wooden poles. Originally it had a Persian style garden, known as Jannat Bagh.
Begum, initially used it as a zoo that housed a collection of different birds. Later, Golghar was used by the Nawab dynasty as his office. It was then used by the Government Railway Police as its office. An attempt has been made to display a glimpse of the social, cultural and landscape of the time of the Bhopal Nawab.
Since 2013 State Archaeological department has conserved and maintained this as a local City museum. Clothes, diaries, House hold articles, photographs of Nawab’s era has been displayed here which gives a glimpse of the social, cultural and heritage of the City.

Nice place to visit in Bhopal. The architecture was also very good. The best place is the museum where we can find ancient times rock carvings. From here we can see the beautiful view of Bhopal City.

Although the museum may have a slight shortfall in the number of ancient artifacts, I still rate it a commendable 4 out of 5 stars.

Situated just beside the birla temple with entry fees of 25/- per head. Sculptures of many gods and goddesses can be seen here. Personal collection of antiques from Mr. Birla is also put on display. A peaceful place to visit.

This temple is made by birla group. It's one of the famous temple in bhopal. During festive seasons, Thursday & any special occasions it's very crowded but in normal days it's not crowded. This temple 🛕 is also known as laxmi narayan temple. Among the devotees this temple is very famous. Inside of this temple taking pictures is not allowed. Temple garden is very neat & clean & beautifully managed. Before entering the temple there is water cooler available for drinking water. On the back side of temple washroom facility is available which is very neat & clean.

It is built by Nawab Shah Jahan Begum under her rule during1868-1901. This spectacular building consists of 32 beautifully crafted decorative doors. It is having round galleries having stairs which leads upwards on the roof. The upper chamber has a dome, the pillars are round and the doors are ornate. The dome has been painted using the colors purple, yellow, orange, red, brown and green. Upstairs is a circular veranda, covered with a sheet of tin, which is based on wooden poles. Originally it had a Persian style garden, known as Jannat Bagh.
Begum, initially used it as a zoo that housed a collection of different birds. Later, Golghar was used by the Nawab dynasty as his office. It was then used by the Government Railway Police as its office. An attempt has been made to display a glimpse of the social, cultural and landscape of the time of the Bhopal Nawab.
Since 2013 State Archaeological department has conserved and maintained this as a local City museum. Clothes, diaries, House hold articles, photographs of Nawab’s era has been displayed here which gives a glimpse of the social, cultural and heritage of the City.

Small shiv temple always there is Peaceful environment good for worshipping for a long time because there is not so much rush in regular days but in shivratri there is lots of rush. It is easily located in normal traffic condition you can drive vehicle any time and you come here with family morning to late evening in all days. In front of temple parking space for vehicles.

Maa Gaytri temple i visited here many time when i visited in Bhopal. A place for good meditation, prayer and learn and meet good people. Park area where acupressure walk throughout the ground . You got juice corner here they provided Amala jwar juice, coconut juice, and others in very cheap rate.
