My family went to spend a beautiful day at Colby Lake park. Living in Woodbury for 12 years plus; I didn’t realize there’s such a park exists to enjoy 🧐

The City of Woodbury hosts summer movie nights featuring a variety of fun activities for kids and an array of food trucks. Families can enjoy the warm evenings together, watching movies under the stars while indulging in delicious food and engaging in entertaining activities.

Overall thoughts: This is a nice park and we will likely return. No bathrooms and no parking right by the playground though, you need to walk through the field to get to it. Looks like they're making a paved path by it though and that will make it a lot more accessible.

SWINGS?
One handicap, one baby/toddler and two traditional.

PLAY STRUCTURE FOR BIG/LITTLE KIDS?
The structure is for kids 5+ but there are some things safe enough for toddlers.

SHADE?
Some over the picnic tables but none for the park.

DISTANCE FROM PARKING LOT TO THE PLAYGROUND?
Quite a bit. The field was flooded when we visited but we should have taken the path that was under construction.

TABLES OR GAZEBOS?
Two picnic tables.

BENCHES?
None.

BATHROOM?
A porta potty is available but it might just be for the construction crew (they're making a path).

WALKING PATH?
Yes. Right by the park.

OPEN AREA?
Yes! Right by a baseball field.

BUSY/LOUD STREET?
No.

ANY FUN EXTRAS?
No.

Really clean park and it's a hidden gem tucked in a neighborhood by the high school. There's a volley ball court and a ton of space for family events. You can also rent out the building.

Beautiful park with play structure and bandshell, baseball fields and skate park, fun for kids! Note: Bathrooms are Porto potties when there isn't an event, so bring water bottles, and wipes for kids to wash hands.

Ojibway park is a hidden adventure in Woodbury! The football and baseball fields likely make it busy on the weekends, but the weekdays are perfect for a picnic with your kiddo and a play in the park.
With a mini kid area and a big kid area, everyone is happy. There’s even a hockey rink that would likely be a nice semi enclosed dog area.
Don’t forget the two sand volleyball courts!

Really cool place to go and visit and get some much needed outdoor activity! Places like this that preserve nature are truly a gem! Nature should most definitely be appreciated and respected just as it is here! Try to take a nice walk or a jog, whatever you're maybe into! I definitely recommend healthy activity and breathing fresh air! Enjoy!
We absolutely love to come here and take leisurely walks. There are many trails to explore. Some more difficult than others. Some problems we've encountered are that it's a shared bike path and some places are super narrow for a comfortable walk knowing there might be a bike coming at you. And although the park doesn't allow for dogs I still see many (which isn't a problem for me, the problem is that most of them are off leash and not trained)

This is a great park for sports, hiking, dog walking, and off-road mountain biking. There are two massive baseball fields and plenty on hiking trails to trek, from easy to difficult. My dog loves it here!

I decided to hit this place for some MTB runs. Boy was I not disappointed! This place has some awesome trails it’s great! Some of the steeps are steep and it can get pretty techy in there. Overall great time. I went after a rain storm and it was still good.
I visited the gardens it was 9/21/23 so I wasn’t expecting much. I was actually surprised to see a few flowers. They apologized, because apparently the Garden’s were under construction. The house is only open on Fri Sat Sun. I’m sure the gardens are lovely in the spring and summer.
No dogs allowed? Since when, it's a stupid rule for a big park. I don't want to sit in a giant rectangle with no shade for my dog to run around. I leash and clean up and deserve to have access to a nice place, too.

Love this park. Playground is nice and there's lots of places to sit and have lunch in the shade.
great trail for some mountain biking. some parts are harder than others and it’s indicated by the signs which is great. took about an hour to complete the whole trail with one break if you do all the difficult parts. beware of hikers. if you’re biking the trail try to enjoy it and take it in, don’t rush just to complete it.

Very fun skate park! I had a great time. Really glad they had some shade trees with benches under them. That’s what a lot of skateparks are missing. Shade and a place to get water. Very impressed. I’d go back when I’m in the area again.

This is a nice small park for the locals. It has a paved walking path around a pond, a basketball court, a tennis court, and a playground. There is no parking lot. We love strolling around the pond and listening to the birds.
We had the cemetery tour at 5:40pm, which was still light enough to see the gravestones and the actors. It was a lovely evening, which made the experience even better. The costumes were excellent, and the actors played their parts well. We learned some interesting facts about the local "ghosts." The spook alley at the Glebe House was fun, inventive and just spooky enough to have a good scream and a good laugh. We highly recommend both.
The annual cemetery walk and haunted house at Glebe House is a little gem. The walk to the cemetery and the cemetery itself is lined with beautiful farolitos. It always feels as if you've stepped in to a different era, which is very appropriate as we enter the season of honoring the ancestors and all who came before us. You can almost feel the wagons on the road, and the wolves circling round the settlement as the stories of the people whose bone lie nearby are told. Very evocative.

The haunted house is artfully and creatively done. Every year it's different. It isn't mindless gore, but it is great fun. The costumed docents and volunteers do a wonderful job. I especially recommend this for newcomers to Woodbury and the surrounding area so they get a sense of the history of the town.

Allow yourself a full hour and a half to two hours to enjoy the event. Even when your tour is done, it's still nice to enjoy the lanterns on a beautiful autumnal evening when winter is beginning to whistle round the corners of the old houses and churches which surround the glebe.

Well done Glebe House.
Great place to walk your dogs, bring your mountain bike etc. There's areas with a few picnic tables, no grills. Easy trail to walk and our dogs loved it there. Plenty of parking and there's a station to lock your bicycle up too. FYI, if you're bringing kids, there weren't any bathroom facilities. If you need one there's a Stop & Shop one parking lot over.
Nice location decent walking pass and a nice playground another plus they got a on site porta potty for bathroom use
Fantastic historical house to visit. Tour was just the right amount of time. They also sell plants from the garden for a very reasonable price.

Fenced in tennis court, regulation basketball court, one picnic table, children’s play equipment. Rarely crowded. Includes a walking path around the pond and a trash can. Surrounded by private residence backyards, like most area parks they are open from sunrise to sunset.
Nice park! Lots of open space to play ball or fetch. No bathrooms but a port a potty on the trail nearby.

Really enjoyed my self today. The weather was perfect. The park was clean. Bathrooms are so convenient and perfect in the middle where it's in reach for everyone. The nice cut field of grass was such a pretty view. Watching the girls play baseball and my husband play volleyball was something I been longing for after pandemic. Even on going with the craziness, thank you for still not shutting down the parks, keeping it welcoming and entertaining, whenever we all need fresh air .

A new state park, since 2002 and VERY green -:). The narrow park, runs between 2 other state parks: Bethpage and Cold Spring Harbor. We parked at Woodbury Road lot, (it doesn't seem to have a bathroom) and walked white trail.
Really great hiking trail for all levels of hikers. I usually don't give 5 stars unless I go back to a place twice but since I'm coming back soon anyways it deserves 5.
One of the nicer, historic homes, in the area. Our docent was very knowledgeable and took the time to show us the house, and answer all of our questions. The gardens outside were very well done. 5-stars all the way. When in the area, don't miss this house!!!

If your looking for a fun park to take your kids to, this isn't the park. Compare my photos to previous ones and you can see they have removed basically everything in the park. It's just a massive pile of wood chips with some swings and 2 pieces of equipment you can climb on. I would recommend you go to any other park if your taking your kids.

The picnic tables and covering need replacement. It's pretty grungy looking, but it works well for outdoor activities and meetings.

Spaghetti & pizzas were great.
People are friendly here and courteous of your space. My kid is almost 2 years old and loves to run around and swing.
Great entry point to the second leg of the LI. Greenbelt Trail. Beautiful! With lots of space & clean.
Park in the morning, avoid while the sports-parents are here.

Secluded and surrounded by trees, there is a playground, basketball court, and tennis court.
Awesome trails I kept heading north crossing over 2 roads and under railroad tracks took me an adventurous 2hours then I took the streets back or I would’ve been out 3 to 4 hours. This is one of my favorite riding trails now.
Long and narrow park that only has two hiking/biking paths. If you're looking for a quick and easy hike this could still work for you. I felt limited knowing that park ends just 50 feet to the right and left. Park also has ticks and lime disease warnings posted. The paths are not paved so if it rains it could get dirty. Some people in mountain bikes seemed to be enjoying this mildly challenging trail.

This is a good sized parked that has plenty of parking and green space. There are a few baseball fields and a ice rink that gets filled in during the winter. The playground has a good mix of options for multiple ages of kids. Exiting the park can be a bit tricky with the traffic on Valley Creek Road.

Pleasant small park with single softball field and playset. There is an off street parking lot and a single portable rest room on the west side of the park just off Interlaken parkway. A paved trail circles the park and connects with the rest of the Woodbury trail systems. There is a fairly large park pond with no water access, but it is fun to watch waterfowl and other birds, which are plentiful around the pond. As with some of the other parks, this one could benefit by a few more benches and picnic tables.

Poor accessibility, and not really a "park". Can't be seen from any road. Have to cut through people's lawns to get to it.

great place for walking and with childrens play area..connecting trails for wilmes lake makes a good long walking path
An authentic Connecticut historic home in one of the oldest inland towns in Connecticut, Woodbury. The house is beautifully preserved and doesn't even have electricity in most of the rooms. It was the home of Rev. John Rutgers Marshall, his wife Sarah, nine children and three slaves from 1771 to 1786 and is furnished with period furniture including a wonderful collection of furniture made in Woodbury during the 18th century. The garden is amazing and is the only extant garden designed by famous British gardener Gertrude Jeykll in the United States. The house is also the place where the first bishop of the American Episcopal Bishop was named. This act assumed the separation of church and state. This is one of the finest and most authentic historic house museums in Connecticut and perhaps New England.

Nice little neighborhood park with 2 baseball fields, tennis courts, a basketball hoop, pavilion with picnic tables, and a parking lot. It's next door to a church elementary school.it seems like a nice place for anyone wishing to partake in sports, or kite flying

Cozy and secure. Lots of nature, animals, and sights to see.

I came here biking and to see some nature. I was not disappointed.. I even saw a falcon of some sort and a stray black cat.

The park has many trails. I like looping the open field on the flat bike trails. Some of the trails are intense for biking, beware of large rocks, tree stems, and hills.

Overall, very nice park.
The trails at Stillwell woods connect at the South with Trail View park. At Stillwell, the trails are not mapped very well on Google Maps so navigation can be obscure.

This is a great place to walk, run, and bike. I also saw people flying model airplanes in the field.
A wonderful hidden gem. Early Americana home circa 1743 & spectacular English garden by Gertruide Jekyll a early 20th century British horticulturist.

Great playground with unique features, fun for kids and parents! Adjacent to a peaceful park with walking trails
Fun park. We have softball practice and games here and my daughter loves heading to play at the park after practice.
Park grounds are always in great shape and the playground structures are well maintained.
Also has a walking path around the park.
This is one of my favorite places. Starting at the trailhead by Stop & Shop, I go north to the big open Stillwell field and back. It is a perfect 1 hour+ hike with ascents and descents and a nice flat breather in the middle. Shady, then sunny, then shady again. Well traveled trail. Follow the White blazes for the foot Trail.

Quite and great paved trail surrounding the lake.
Nice place but too much sun around kids play area. Could have had some trees around.
The man giving the tour was really nice and had a great personality. He had a great sense of humor. Also, the garden was amazing. A picture perfect opportunity.

Good neighborhood park with basketball court, tennis court and playground. No traditional settings though :( The playground was replaced in the summer of 2015.
