Amazing. Clean. Beautiful. People actually pick up after themselves and their pets. Unlike Hendrys Beach. I wish I lived there just to have access to this beach on a daily.

Do not try and enter here. It is for the rich people of the neighborhood only.
"Lake Los Carneros Park is a hidden gem! I recently discovered this beautiful park and was blown away by its serene atmosphere and stunning natural beauty. The lake is picturesque, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant wildflowers. I enjoyed a peaceful walk along the trails, spotting birds and turtles along the way.

The park is well-maintained, with clean facilities and ample parking. I appreciated the variety of recreational activities available, including kayaking, fishing, and picnic areas. It's a perfect spot for a family outing, a romantic date, or a solo escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

What struck me most was the sense of tranquility that pervades the park. It's a true oasis in the midst of urban sprawl. I left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, with memories to cherish. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat, look no further than Lake Los Carneros Park – it's a must-visit destination!

I've been going to this park since elementary school that was over 40 years ago more like 45 years ago LOL my parents, my kids and their kids still have parties and family gatherings still till this very day. Today is my grandson Elias's 13th birthday party and it was a blast, happy birthday to my grandson Eli!
Had a joyous time on my birthday visiting this lovely beach. We went for a peaceful walk down the scenic landscape followed by a therapeutic exercise in balancing rocks and other found objects on a large upright log (seen in photo below) The distinct smell of the salty water brought back memories of time spent by the sea as a young boy and the enormity of the vast ocean brought about tender thoughts about how paradoxically infinitesimal a single life appears and the contradicting boundlessness of my single existence.

Much of the beach is still corded off due to the sewage contamination including access to the pier.
There is a lot of driftwood on the beach after the storms.

There are some lovely flowers growing after all the rains including some lovely local lupins.

Excellent park for a stroll. Views of lakes and mountains as well as wildlife.
Attractions available for children include a train, tractor ride and petting zoo.

Comfortably walk around the lake in 1 your but two hours to really enjoy yourself is recommended.

I don't believe bathrooms are available other than a portable restroom.

On Saturdays and Sundays there are a few small museums available about Goleta history.

It's sad to see it so torn up..... Came out to spread my mother's ashes at sea as this was where she used to hang out constantly.....the shoreline is a mess..... the ground is uneven and hard to get to the water line.....Our old favorite restaurant was shut down and half gone from previous storms and construction work was going on, hopefully to put it back together......but it'll always be a favorite place in our hearts...... There are restrooms easily accessible, easy parking but the lot is worn and tattered.....Saw lots of dogs and their owners. Still a nice spot to visit.

They've added several acres of sand after the storm damage and the beach is looking much better than it has in a long time

What a nice and peaceful place to walk or just sit and enjoy. Many people come to hang out or to exercise. The lake landscape is gorgeous and the ducks are super cute. We parked in the small lot next to the fire station and train museum and walked along the wooden gate. Just followed the pathway in the grass that's kind of paved. A big plus, dogs are allowed.. yay!
Easy trail, beautiful view to the ocean so much to explore. Cherry on top... Seeing so many monarch butterflies in one place
An absolutely incredible park. So many trails, so many amazing views. Genuinely was blown away by this place.
Beautiful park with great views of the mountains. Parking is a little tricky as there’s not really a designated lot but rather multiple entrance points in neighborhoods. A great place to walk!

Nice park along the beach. Pretty calm but plenty of people out and about on a nice Saturday evening. Lots of free parking and some amazing views from the pier!
Truly a local's beach. I love that we have our own beach in Goleta. It's unpretentious, there's always plenty of parking, and there are picnic tables, BBQs, and clean restrooms. It's not a wide beach, and it's often rocky (so bring shoes), but it's always beautiful. Try the short hike up to the UCSB campus for a bird's eye view of the beach. Dogs must be on leach, which is appreciated, and I rarely see off-leash dogs here (yay!). In the summer, there are lifeguards on duty.

Camping here for the night
Private beach for the billionaires. If you’re not a Hope Ranch resident you can only access it from more mesa ,walking 2 miles across the reserve, down the cliff plus walking down the beach and back. This beach is no different from any other beach in SB besides it not being accessible to the public.

I’m not wealthy or a conservative, but I support private/restricted beaches. The same way I support conservation zones. The general public / tourists destroy every natural environment and ecologically sensitive area they touch. That’s not even an opinion. It’s a fact.
Goleta beach is one of the best beaches in the area. It has easy parking right next to the beach, very rarely crowded and has mountain views, a really nice pier to walk on and decent amenities (public bathroom, water fountains, picnic areas and playground). A great advantage is the meant trees on the adjacent lawn to provide nice shade.
It is also the best free starting point to walk to UCSB, just above the bluffs.
It is out of the way and a nice small hike especially after work.

A sweet park with lots of park benches and a little redwood forest that is next to the live oak so they're not going to live very long. Totally different climates silly people! Of course star loved it and she met a new friend!

I grew up around the corner from this beautiful lake. I love it. It's scenic, plenty of wild life, and a very nice walk around the lake is my favorite thing to do there.

This park is awesome!

It has a lot of space and nice public amenities. My favorite spot in the park has got to be the bench that is in the grove of Redwoods.

It's a really peaceful spot in the shade where you can listen to the wind rustle the leaves and watch squirrels chase each other on the fence posts and tree trunks.

Awesome spot! Lots of glass, watch your step.
Window to the sea is such a wonderful place to walk everyday every day and see all kinds of new of new surroundings such asuch as pelicans by the group of of 20 sharks sharks right at your feet along the seashore and punch and punches of I love vista surfers and beach goers .....juan
Beautiful sights and views at the end of groomed trails. So many walking/hiking options with gorgeous views of the water and Bluffs at the end. Worth the trek back to the beach to hang out for the day. I could have spent the day here, but was not prepared as thought it was just a hike out and back.

Toller Blick vom Water Tower auf die Umgebung. Leider befinden sich auf dem Water Tower viele Scherben und Müll.
Sonst sehr schön, auch wenn der Weg nicht ganz einfach war
Often visited by locals and nearby residents, this beach park is perfect for walking, jogging, taking the dog out, bird watching, tide pooling, and picnics.
Wonderful for dogs (must be on leash) and children. We spent several hours playing on the plentiful eucalyptus trees and making forts and other “make believe” games with the kids. The hike down to the beach was absolutely breathtaking- maybe it was 2 miles there and back to the parking lot. Take water and snacks and charge up your phone for picture.

This park will not disappoint you! Play area for kids and bathrooms. Great easy parking. 👍👍2 thumbs up!!

Looks great since they've put up the wooden fence. The new water spikets are great. My Dog enjoys the fresh water
Any time I find a piece of (mostly) undeveloped land, it brings joy to my heart. One paved path and a network of dirt trails cut through this natural landscape of the Good Land, old Goleta. A variety of trees, grasses, brush and wildflowers await those on foot or bike. The many bird species that call this area home provide a fitting soundtrack for this idyllic setting.
Respect the spot.

Beautiful VERY secluded, local Family, specifically the hope ranch community and their very young childrens gathering spot. Do not that deter you away though, If you were born and raised in this city As I was you completely understand How silly the hope ranch folks are for putting up their fence. It all comes down to respect (doesn't everything though...) and there are ways to access this beach to the left and right of the actual hope ranch entrance. This will always be one of my favorite beaches attend frequently with my friends throughout jr high and high school, but again they were hope ranch residents so we could actually access the beach from the hope ranch gate with ease. Again. It is accessible to the public but not through hope ranch. There is a gate with a guard and you will not be able to get through. It is accessible if you walk the path from More Mesa, climb the stairs down the cliffs to the beach and taking a left and walking until you see the roundabout with Palm trees.

Again, let me emphasize you will not be able to enter or exit through The Hope Ranch gate not even if you are walking so if you come from more Mesa, you must exit from more Mesa

Or you can try the long walk from the boat house at the pit, The good luck trying to time those tides. I suggested kayak. Just be respectful no one will mind, Such is life.
Beautiful park, good surf. Nice and clean, no trash. Great place to ride your bike and walk on the beach.🏖️

Unorthodox road to get up here but in the end it was worth it. We went around 11am and it was just us but be aware lots of bugs if you are wanting to stay a little longer bring some bug spray! For you aviation nerds this is a great spot to see aircraft flying into the airport. If you have a radio you can turn to approach, tower, and ground and be able to hear everyone perfectly.

BE CAREFUL ABOUT THE SUNSET PARK CLOSING TIME LIMIT

They are quite strict about it, and me, in my classic forgetfulness, forgot about the sunset limit (8:15 pm) but managed to get to my car in record time (8:14 pm) to escape the patrol which was parked next to my lone car about to write a ticket.

That being said, this is a fantastic park! Equipped with a playground, a wide stretch of forest as well as a large field makes it perfect for an event. Very well maintained and kept.

That being said, I didn't see much people wearing masks throughout the park so be wary during COVID19 season.
This park was a nice gem to stumble upon. There are nice dirt pathways with pretty views of a small lake. The boardwalk was a fun discovery as well. I know the beach is the first draw to this area, but if you're spending a couple days here, check this place out for a nice stroll.
While this spot is beautiful, I was so sadden to see the beach covered with globs of tar, no doubt from the oil refinery just off shore. The smell of the tar was awful but the fact that my dogs paws were covered in the stuff is probably the worst part. So sad to see an absolutely beautiful beach ruined by humans..
You can definitely see the sea, plus a nice bench swing

Very pleasant place to sit and relax alone or with a companion. The swing bench is awesome. This park is on a small lot between houses. It is a pleasant and unexpected break from the rest of DP.
Sweet spot great views. No o high tide access
Very nice and clean, great location close to beach. Tamara & Chris are very pleasant and accommodating, everything is well explained and straight forward. Would definitely use them again if it is available.
my favorite place to go be alone, there is a swing there and yes you do see the unusual there.

Just a good view point really. It's very appealing to the eye and an over all good vibe. I would give 5 stars for the scenery but someone really needs to clean up the broken glass on the tower. Looks like it turned into a party spot for young drinkers. There is also a nice shaded spot on the other side of the road down a little path of you want out of the sun for a bit. Very chill spot.
good use of space, the swing is very romantic.

As a resident of Hope Ranch it is nice to be able to have private access to this beach. While the beach itself is NOT private, there is a private access to the residents of Hope Ranch that enables use of our park facilities - bbq areas, parking, restrooms, surf board storage and even a SNACK SHACK in the summer for the kids. We do have a private lifeguard on duty for most of the summer. Its nice to be able to walk on the beach. I would like it better if I could bring my LEASHED dog to the beach without worrying about all the people that bring their UNLEASHED dogs. I have seen too many dog owners ignore the leash law, let their dogs defecate on the beach and NOT pick it up or pick it up in a bag and then leave the bag on the beach. If people want to take their dogs to a beach find an area that allows unleashed dogs but don't come to this beach and unleash your dogs and be an irresponsible dog owner. All too often I have had my LEASHED dogs with me and have had people's UNLEASHED dogs run toward us and YES, have even been attacked. I give our beach a 4. If I were rating based on the dog owners that don't follow the law I would give the beach a 2.

Quiet peaceful secluded beach and they even unpack your car for you. Dogs on leashes only and they in force this for the most part unless you get really far down the beach. If you know someone that lives in HR ask if they will invite you down sometime!
