The vineyard has a nice selection of wines. The venue has plenty of seating outdoors that you need to share with free ranging chickens. The hazard of that is that there is chicken dung everywhere on the tables and chairs. The chickens also pester you for hand outs if you're trying to enjoy your wine with a picnic. The server we had today also did not know much about the wines. One thing we always check on is the residual sugars and she didn't know that information. One wine that she recommended as off dry was ultra sweet and undrinkable for us.
I had the pleasure of visiting Wilderness Winery, and it was an exceptional experience! The beautiful surroundings, coupled with a warm and inviting atmosphere, made for the perfect day. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, guiding us through a delightful tasting experience. Each wine had its own unique character, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into the production. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just looking for a great spot to relax, I highly recommend Wilderness Winery. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing friends and family along!
Lovely place, loads of room for different parties, plus live music on certain days/nights.
We went for a friend's birthday party and stayed until they closed.
Lots to drink, food options are limited. Pretty over-priced charcuterie and cheese box. They had a food truck, but it ran out of propane. I suggest eating first.
Lots of animals and livestock around. And they have restrooms and dirt/gravel parking.
Beautiful place.
Awesome venue. Great variety of alcoholic (wine, beer, mead, seltzers) and non-alcoholic (kumbucha, slushies) to choose from. Enjoyed the Sip and Pour candlemaking event with Pearlescent Candle Co, on a cool and clear autumn night.
Wonderful winery with a lot of different atmospheres. The wildlife includes social chickens, beautiful peacocks, charming koi fish, and more! There is a brewery in front and a winery in back, plus even more to discover. Will return again.
The best winery we've visited in Virginia so far. Each wine was delicious with consistent quality from variety to variety. On a Saturday night, there was excellent live music and an inviting atmosphere. We will be returning!!
Huge property (dog friendly!) with lots of seating, mostly bench’s (Easily tip😂) and metal tables outside. Food trucks and fresh pizza/wings the day we went. Playground for kids, corn hole and beer was good but not a huge list of options. Will absolutely try and come back!
I have been visiting this winery for the last seven years. I was even coming here when they did not have the brewery attached to it. By the way, that was an excellent idea. They have very good beers as well as wines and slushies and sangria. It is a very nice, quaint, and, family oriented environment. However, there is an adult only area in a very beautiful garden to enjoy some adult time. There are multiple animals on site that you can see and lots of chicken roaming around. We also saw horses, donkeys and even a peacock. This place does not lack any sitting areas as they are all around as well as restrooms. They usually have food on site with several food trucks. Super recommended and it is only about 20 minutes from Fredericksburg.
