Lovely little place. Doesn't take long to walk around, but still steeped in history.
A fabulous place to take a stroll and imagine life as it was in the 14th century before Google was ever imagined.
I'm a very quiet village, we stumbled upon this place, unfortunately due to time and repairs are very clear , and in places looks like an eye sore
A great place for the whole family to get out and about. Perfect for walking, bike riding, picnics etc.
Really lovely trails.
We did the gruffalo trail and the kids enjoyed it.
Would like to come back to go mountain biking soon!
Parking not cheap but facilities are great so it’s worth it.

Great place for everyone of all ages. Plenty of activities to take part in or just stroll through stunning woodland
A great place to come for a family bike ride. Trails to suit all abilities and lots of amenities to keep kids occupied. The car park is expensive and the food isn't fine dining but that's not what the day is about; the memories last longer than the money would have. We'll be back again soon!
Such an enchanting place for young and old to visit. Well maintained paths for walking
Surprised i haven't visited before ..very pleased i did go, very pretty easy to get to clean and the staff were lovely. Toilets were a bit small but clean.

Lovely country park with lots of routes and decent facilities. Parking was cheap too. Saw loads of jets coming into land at RAF Lakenheath too just to add to it! Dog friendly but just be aware of wildlife if yours wants to chase.
A good outdoor space for children and family. Good walks, park and excellent for cycling. Parking a tad on the expensive side if unable to justify the annual parking pass
Parking £2 for couple hours. Lovely views and perfect dog walking place. Walk far enough out and it's rare to see other walkers for a bit. There is a toilet, playground and cafe at the car park. Lovely pond area with ducks. The cafe sells duck food for 30p
Had a lovely yomp around the park, despite its proximity to the road at one point and the roaring of planes from the nearby military base. We saw a greater variety of fungi here in one afternoon than we'd seen in Cambridgeshire in months. We really enjoyed the trip.
We went for the Segway forest experience over the weekend and we an absolutely amazing time. Our instructor Erin did a fabulous job she was happy, friendly and very professional, highly recommended. The forest is beautiful and it even nicer when you can see it from Segway. Thank you for the great experience.
A beautiful woodland walk for families. Great place to take the dog. LOVE the giant redwoods. Yes, actual redwoods.
A great place to visit with family and friends or just a quiet walk on your own. Clean and easy to get to. The car parks are of a good size and very cheep. £2 for two hours or £3 for the whole day, they take cash or via an App. Nice cafe on site to choose from a small selection of drinks and snacks. They welcome people bringing their own food. Some really nice walks with ranging distances that take you through the forest. Paths are well maintained and easy to follow. The 3.5 walk (purple route) through the wood was a good choice. Will go again.
First time there with my wife and children today. We had a good time. Good play areas for children and plenty of walking and cycling trails. If I had one complaint it would be the lack of waste bins.

Lovely forest with lots of different things to do, my son loved the GoApe, you can choose different levels that are suitable for their capabilities. My son did the tree top adventure +. The staff were friendly, informative, and safety conscious at all times.
Amazing adventures for the kids and even adults, there are lots of play equipment, forest walks and even go ape. There is a cafe and toilets, parking is not too expensive. Plenty to do and to much to do in one day if you wanted to do everything. So worth the trip.
Lovely location, nice play park for the little ones. Treetop challenge was definitely great fun. Kinda wish to have upgraded to challenge +. Either way, it was worth it. The only downside is parking, going into double digits ££ fairly quickly.
Great fun to have in an afternoon, we did the challenge plus course and it did not disappoint us, although we did finish it very quickly (2hrs) but the activities and course were fun and exciting. Worth the trip from London! Staff are also friendly and knowledgeable and easy to interact. The only downside I would say is that there are very minimal instructors around the site in case of an emergency. Would recommend.
We had an amazing experience completing the 12km trail at High Lodge National Forest. The services provided were top-notch; the cafe impressed us with its use of locally sourced ingredients, and the bike hire, information point, and clean toilets added to the convenience. The abundance of picnic spaces was a pleasant surprise, and the range of activities for children made it a family-friendly destination. What we loved the most was the tranquility of the fir trail, which allowed us to immerse ourselves deeper into the forest.
We were also pleased to find ample car parking available at a reasonable cost. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can park on the main road and take a pleasant walk into High Lodge. The flexibility in parking options made our visit even more convenient and enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic day out in nature!

Fantastic play areas. Beautiful musical trail. We enjoyed the Zog trail too. Ideal for our 4yo and 7yo. Great place for a picnic but can buy food in the cafe. £3 an hour to park but worth it.
Hidden away, off the beaten track - literally! Weeting is a gem as few manor houses of this period survive. Free to visit with reasonably level access. A wheelchair would be a challenge but not impossible. The main walls were being stabilised when we visited but the scaffolding should be away by now
Very fun (if a little terrifying) adventure through the trees. The initial safety explanation is succinct and engaging, and then you're left to have fun clambering across shaky bridges and tightropes.
We then spent the rest of the day exploring Thetford Forest, which included playing some adventure golf, and taking part in orienteering.

What a delightful little park! Featuring walking trails, woodland, cafe, flower garden, lake (which needed some serious tlc when we visited), playground and picnic benches. Good paths. And very loud fighter jets overhead from neighbouring air base. We will return for the remaining trails and seasonal flowers.
This was our first time at Thetford and we had a super time, my grandson did the Adventure +, thoroughly enjoyed it. The instructors were friendly and made sure everybody knew the rules. We took the dog and walked her through the forest which she really enjoyed. Nice cafe
I was taken aback by this beautiful venue. We went to see Paul Weller. Parking was exceptionally easy in the stunning woods. Using the facilities was a breeze! There felt like there was lots of space for all. The stage nestled in amongst differently coloured wonderful old trees. Everyone was very kind. I loved it here. I thought it was absolutely stunning. 😍
We love high lodge! Great walks in the woods with lots of benches along the way. The heritage walk is nice with wind-up sound boards with local history and nature info. The play areas are really good with big slides, and we love the sound and music trail - there’s lots of different instruments to try. We’ve done Go Ape based here in the past and that’s really fun too. It’s lovely year round.
Parking can be a bit expensive but if you arrive on foot or bike it’s free and membership is a good deal.

Pay a whole day parking , bring your food or buy in Cafe. you can enjoy a big meadow, free playground facilities. Rent a bike and also book a go ape tree top challenge. Full of fun with kids and teens.
Beautiful location! Nice and remote area to give from the bustle of city life. Nearby church adds to the view quiet nicely. Small free car park with a 1 minute walk to the castle. I came when there was scaffolding, but it was still lovely to see and be in the presence of history.
Had a great time at Go Ape Thetford. The course was challenging but achievable for us, and we are reasonably active but did not have any climbing experience. We took our time going through the course, and it took us around two hours to complete. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the comprehensive safety briefing made sure that we felt confident throughout the activity.

The cafe serves hot food, including burgers and macaroni cheese, as well as sandwiches and pastry items. Parking is a bit steep at £3 an hour, but we received a voucher from the Go Ape staff for free parking the next time we go.
Overall, we enjoyed it a lot and would consider going to other Go Ape sights around the country.

My daughter, being a new 6 year old, was feeling brave and wanted to do the course alone. And although she's tall at 4ft, there were a few parts of the course where she struggled clipping herself on. Luckily enough, a slightly older kid was happy to help her, but it did make me slightly nervous from the ground. It needs a minimum 4ft 6-inch height limit for unaccompanied children.

More of a moated hall than a Castle, with the great remains of an old ice house. An absolutely huge willow had fallen buy the old moat which must of been hundreds of years old. A beautiful old Saxon church very close, but was shut. Lots of yew trees growing on the island, (longbows?)
An English heritage site that is free to enter. Parking is reasonably limited and is in essence the parking for the church (also worth a look, it has an unusual round tower). weeting Castle is not substantial and was at some time more of a moated Manor house. Not a bad area for a picnic but little of interest to see

We visited again, this time in April and completed the heritage trail. This was good as less people about. The birds were singing and the trees looked beautiful.

Well hidden. Gem. Not much there but a few flint walls and an empty moat. 18th century ice house too. It's just a peaceful place lovely trees. Great for a picnic in the summer.
We love High Lodge. Our daughter can spend hours in the playgrounds. There are beautiful walks and cycle routes that cater to all abilities. We recommend the music trail for some silly, noisy fun! The dogs enjoy it all as much as we do and there is also a selection of treats for them in the cafe! Facilities are clean and well kept.
You have to book GoApe well in advance, but the archery and adventure golf are great additions to the day.
