Beautiful views and a fun walk around the lake! Great views guaranteed!
Cute little lighthouse, beautiful views, National Lighthouse day in USA is Aug 7. there's a another lighthouse further out, bring binoculars or zoom in on a phone camera. local rotating art painted around the base. Adding benches, improving the surrounding walkaways, roadsides, and green space would add time spent there, adding in more Native landscapes. Evergreen trees especially, to block the backsides of festival grounds/fencing. The surrounding neighborhood is up and coming in improvements, this area needs attention too.
Got here at sunset to find the lighthouse and the yellow bridge, next to the park where the lighthouse is, glowing in the sunlight. Not the nicest of parks, but right on the water and nice enough to walk around the area. Saw some peope jogging, and walking their dogs, though a number of people were just watching from their cars.
I had come a long way, and opted to paint the scene, and take some photos.
It was lovely even with the graffiti, and worth the walk as I headed back to my hotel. Wish it was a little better lit (irony haha) so I might have felt safe as a solo traveler getting a little closer. There were a couple guys over there fishing or something so I took my touristy pictures and videos and got on my way.

This museum would be worth it even if all you did was walk in and gawk at the halls from the front of the building. I had a small bag on my back and the museum makes/yells at you put those on your front, which got uncomfortable. So maybe I should have checked it. The cafe actually made a pretty decent sandwich, shout-outs to those guys over there. Some staff were super helpful with directions or recommendations. Only one person either wasn’t aware or full-on ignored me which was a weird feeling when I was clearly standing in front of her podium. Long story short, I’m glad I went and saw almost everything I wanted to see and it’s worthy of being on 1k places to go before you die in the USA and Canada.

Friends of mine lived in the weather station tower (apartment) back in the mid-70s. You could go out one of the windows and climb up to the roof where the weather instruments used to be. Those oval windows are over 6' tall. A beautiful and historic building.

A must visit when you're in Milwaukee. The mansion is stunning - the woodwork, the wallpaper, the art collection. Plus, the history of the Pabst family and the building is fascinating. Our tour guide Carolyn was absolutely wonderful.

This was a great tour!

The guide was very knowledgeable and funny. She answered questions well and had very in depth knowledge of both the structure of the mansion and the Pabst family history. Even seemingly insignificant pieces of information such as what kind of wood each room is made of.

The mansion itself was very beautiful. The first floor is fully completed and looks exactly how it originally looked.

The second and third floors are still in progress but it was still good to see.

Highly recommended if visiting Milwaukee.

This is an amazing museum.

It's huge with many pieces of art. You can easily spend 4-5 hours here wandering around and looking at the different types of art. There is also a studio room where kids can play around with creating art.

There is also an incredible view of lake Michigan inside the museum. Not taking a photo there is kind of a waste :)

This is a fantastic museum and I highly recommend checking it out.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is not only a cornucopia of masterpieces of art. The museum itself is a masterpiece of artwork, both the interior and the exterior. The world renowned mechanical wings, which spread out when the museum opens to the public and fold shut when the museum closes for the day (and light up at night), have made this building’s architecture world famous.

Most of the galleries in the museum are dedicated towards contemporary and modern art. I didn’t explore these galleries as much as the historic European and American art galleries, but I still found plenty of paintings and sculptures in the contemporary galleries intriguing to marvel at. The abstract images portrayed in those works leave you to make your own interpretation as to what exactly the artist is trying to convey.

I spent much more time in the historic European and American paintings galleries. These exhibits displayed a plethora of realism and impressionist masterpieces from a wide variety of artists, some famous and others lesser known. Most of the famous paintings and sketches were from the Dutch painter Rembrandt, but there was also a gallery dedicated to Paul Gauguin, and a couple of works from Claude Monet. These works further deepened my admiration for great art museums like this one.

This visit in January 2024 was actually my second visit to the Milwaukee Art Museum. My first one was in January 2018. During that time, there was a traveling exhibit featuring renowned masterpieces from artists such as Edgar Degas and Vincent Van Gogh. These exhibits are usually on display for a rather brief period of time, and whenever there is such an exhibition, you should definitely go to the art museum and see those famous pieces of art yourself. Even when there’s not any temporary exhibits featuring world famous priceless artwork, the museum still has a plethora to explore. This is after all, Milwaukee’s best tourist attraction and a must see in every imaginable way.
An absolute “need to go” to spot when visiting Milwaukee.

Not just for the relaxing lakefront walk outside and admiring the architecture. They also have great seasonal and exclusive exhibits year round. Plus, there’s a pretty good cafe inside if you’re hungry.

For those locals, there’s typically a monthly deal for a cheaper entrance. I believe it’s the 3rd Thursday of every month. Correct me if I’m wrong.

They also have great events here all throughout the year.
Spent 2 hours. Self- guided tour through three levels including the antique bowling lanes in the basement. Beautiful and eclectic art collections, lovely woodwork and well-preserved home. They had a modern exhibit throughout the home which was a fun mash-up of old and new. All in all a worthwhile way to spend an afternoon
It truly is a beautifully designed building that houses unbelievably wonderful pieces of art. You will see works of popular artists like Andy Warhol, Georgia O'keeffe, and countless others.

The sculpture of "The Janitor" is amazing. He seemed as if he was going to tell me a story about the years of service he'd given to his field of work. Other works of art made me ponder what the artists message to us is, how the art was created, and what was the inspiration for the work? You will naturally wonder about these things and more yourself.

An excellent museum tour. All the staff are friendly and very well-informed. The house is beautiful and so well preserved that you can really get a feel for how things were like when it was in use by the original owners.

We did the self guided tour so we could go at our own pace! We bought tickets on line and check in is right next to the mansion , at the gift shop! We were lucky enough to find parking g on the street! The mansion is stunning and well worth the ticket price! You are greeted as soon as the door opens! You get to your 3 floors with a staff member on each floor to answer any questions you may have! You are allowed to take photos without flash and no video allowed! Overall experience excellent!

Made a stop here on a father son road trip in 2022. Man, we were blown away by how massive this place was! Also, there was so much to see and do, one could easily spend the day here! Once we got parked, we made our way to the door. Of course, there were ample amount of bikers and bikes to be seen by the many who rode to get there. Almost a free show before going in! Not only is it a great big museum but it also has events, a bar, a restaurant and merch shop! Unfortunately, our only plan was the museum. Upon entry, there are bikes everywhere! Too many to count and all with their own unique stories. From the beginnings to current and even original bikes from many famous movies. Unique and strange bikes too. There's many interactive stations as well. There were so many bikes that stood out to us but we are huge Elvis fans and our favorite was Elvis Presley's original 1956 KH. I could go on and on about how great an experience this was but it is definitely something you must see for yourself! This museum has everything to keep anyone from age 9 to 92 occupied! A great family outing if you're planning but overall, just a great place to go! Highly recommend the Harley-Davidson Museum! Last thing, buy tickets in advance! A lot of times, the museum will give discounts for advance ticket purchases. I saved $5 of each ticket at the time.

Going to start this review by saying it's a bit biased. Reason why? Because I never went in. This was a scheduled stop on a father son road trip in 2022. Had a financial faux pa a few days before getting to this destination. Well, long story short, my son and I decided we would save some money instead of buying tickets. Now, what I will say is that we still stopped here and took in the sights. The museum is a marvel of modern architecture and is stunning to look at. So, we took some pictures, enjoyed the view of Lake Michigan and walked the surrounding grounds. There's no doubt the museum is wonderful. I have toured the museum before but I didn't think it was fair I give an exact review of what's inside. Especially, knowing my last visit was over 30 years ago. I'm sure many things have changed inside. With that noted, I still would highly recommend visiting the museum!

We love the zoo! The line can get a bit long to get in, but inside it never feels crowded. We love that we can bring our own food and drinks, and enjoy things at our own pace. Even on a cold day, there’s plenty of buildings to go in and out of. The playground is always a hit too.

It was like stepping back in time to another world when life moved more slowly. I was amazed at the innovation, and progressiveness of the home's decor with ornate flourishes of the Hops plant throughout. Many of the rooms have been restored to their original design with plans for more rooms on the way. It was interesting to see how the home was custom designed for the Pabst family as they were short in stature, and so were many of the sinks and toilets. My favorite room was the butler's pantry where a distinguished stained glass window has German phrase engrained "experience matters." (roughly translated)
Such a cool place! MKE is lucky to have a place like the domes. 3 different environments, so many plants and cool things to see. Got my husband a year pass for his birthday and can't wait to visit again!
Hubby took me here as part of our date. Truly a lovely place to spend a couple of hours on a cold winter day. I thought it was super cool how the you would go through one door and the other would connect you to the next section.
Definitely would come here again! Just a heads up, there was a line out the door by the time we were done.

It was a lovely experience @ the Zoo visiting Milwaukee for the first time.

We started hopping on train to take a look at the zoo then started our adventure with big cats.

Even though we could not see Giraffes, Elephants and Zebras, it was quite entertaining.

We also rented a scooterpal. It’s highly recommended , so worth the cost( you pay for per minute)

They have a very nice cafeteria area, where you can get a quick lunch/snack and fountains are available all over the zoo.

Nice playground for young children is also available in Family Farm area, it was very lovely.
Love that this is still here!! And the rattlesnake is too! Great Memories today!
We were part of the 25,000 that attended the zoo on March 2. Took a little bit to enter the grounds, but once we were parked, all was great! The crowd is spread out, so it wasn't bad. Concessions were open throughout the park, which was nice. It was a beautiful weather day which brought a lot of people out! Great to see! The zoo was well groomed, and overall, it was a fantastic day!
Five stars are not enough. I drove from Illinois and was left speechless by the beauty of this place. I highly recommend that whoever runs this place consider adding something more entertaining to the third dome. Currently, it seems a bit out of place. I think an open garden with possibly a variety of birds or butterflies could be a better use than the current setup.

Regardless, $9 was totally worth the trip !!

This museum is such a gem! It’s a beautiful architectural marvel designed by Santiago Calatrava. You will definitely admire the combination of shapes, spaces and light.

The collection is also really well curated. Amazing contemporary art pieces and a great selection of modernist furniture.
My girlfriend and I always have a great time at this zoo! A beautiful winter day was no exception! I love all the animals, but especially the cheetahs! What other zoo around here even has any?
I am a wedding photographer and photographed a wedding at the Mitchell Park Domes recently. This is such a stunning venue to work at! The three different geodesic domes make excellent spaces for wedding portraits. The three domes are conservatories that are filled with lots of natural light and unique plants that will transport you to the desert or the rainforest or a floral oasis. The grounds around the venue are also fantastic for photos with views of the domes in the background. The gazebo can be used for a ceremony space. The main lobby can be used for the reception space. The venue staff were really friendly. If you are looking for a cool and unique wedding venue in Milwaukee, I would definitely recommend booking your wedding here!
The Harley-Davidson Museum in Milwaukee offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of this iconic American brand, featuring over 450 motorcycles and artifacts. It's not just for bike enthusiasts; the museum's interactive exhibits and engaging displays make it a compelling visit for anyone interested in American innovation and culture. With everything from vintage models to the latest designs, it provides a comprehensive look at the evolution of motorcycles and their impact worldwide. A visit here promises an educational and memorable experience, making it a must-see destination in Milwaukee.
I absolutely LOVED this museum!!! The staff was friendly and helpful. The art was absolutely STUNNING! I was very impressed with the number of Georgia Okeeffe paintings I saw. A great collection of both historical and contemporary pieces. I only wish I had more time to explore! I only had 2 hours before closing, and I definitely could have stayed another 2 hours.
We enjoyed our visit to the Domes! We went on a Saturday afternoon during a train show and it was very busy. It was hard to find parking we had to wait a while but once we were in we thought it was neat! The train show was all through the main lobby and extra exhibit building. There were 3 domes to see and each had a lot of unique plants. They aren’t that big you maybe spend 5-10 minutes in each Dome. The main dome which was themed to kids toys and had a large train when we went was really cool! I would recommend checking out the Domes.
i used to go to this greenhouse as a child. it was always on a fieldtrip. i prefered the arid area with the many varieties of cacti. then i went once as an adult. while a function was going on. the tropical area also had some appeal..
New animals, more enrichment toys, better food, and friendly staff.
They have some big things that will be happening at the zoo in the next few years. in the mean time, they have updated the amphibians and reptiles build with fresh new graphics and these cool bubble lights on the floor. And looks like just about every animal has a few toys or new things to play in/on.
Very well done. Takes you through history of HD from inception to present. Some interactive displays. Photo op at end on a real bike!

Amazing experience capturing the birth of a motorcycle legend from birth to present day! This place is a treasure trove of information and a collection of some of the greatest bikes ever built. There are two floors of history here in a very clean and beautifully displayed museum for all ages!

Our tour was delayed one hour due to weather (13JAN2024) but it was an amazing tour and home. Our guide, David, was extremely knowledgeable and fun to talk with. The level of detail and innovation in a home from the late 1800s is simply astounding. The history is extremely interesting.
Amazing place, we spent about 3 hours there and still didn't get a chance to see it all. I want to make it back to this location before they build the new one and then compare the new and old. Excited for the growth but worried that some of the elements they have there will be hard to recreate.

This was actually one of the best zoos I've ever been to (and I've been to a bunch of zoos all across the country!). The enclosures are expansive, with both indoor and outdoor areas for the animals. They look well taken care of and it's nice to see that they are entertained/enriched to keep them happy and healthy. Now this might be a fluke but the animals here are some of the most active I've ever seen at a zoo before! I was worried about going so late in the season but there was no problems at all with seeing the animals! Plus, there is such a wide variety of animals, you definitely can see it all here! This might be my new favorite zoo, thanks Milwaukee!
The lighthouse itself is smaller than I expected, but the views are amazing. The other lighthouse a few hundred yards out in the water looks really neat. Panoramic views of Lake Michigan are beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful and such a great educational area for kids and adults. Definitely one of the seven wonders of the world and should be saved. If sports can be added to our taxed dollars, this is even more important to be saved. It's a beautiful location to sit and enjoy the children and families it a climate controlled environment. Even with the animals in nature is so peaceful and enjoyable. The good Lords little piece of heaven.❤️🧚🌺🐸 The membership status is unlimited & gets us into so many wonderful other gardens as well

The people in the house were so friendly and very knowledgeable. The Christmas decorations were gorgeous! My only issue was my own expectations: I thought, if we were getting a guided tour, there wouldn’t be so many closed doors. Storage? Empty closet? Office space? But I guess this was a Christmas tour - and that was totally awesome!

We did the Mimosa tour and it was fabulous! The room we’re beautifully decorated, the young lady that gave us the tour was AMAZING, and we were able to go back to the rooms when our tour was done to see them again and take pictures. I would highly recommended this holiday tour!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED visiting this compact little botanical garden! It gives 60s architecture or EPCOT vibes, the domes are connected by a small lobby. You can make your visit as long or quick as you like. The dessert dome has so many different plants I've never seen! There are neat birds in it that I didn't expect. The tropical dome was my favorite, with orchids that were so unique! Can't wait to visit again!
We had a great day on Sunday at the public museum! First time here and it didn’t disappoint. Loved the butterfly area, as well as the trolly/old Milwaukee area. We didn’t quite get to experience the 2nd and 3rd floor in depth, but if it’s anything like the 1st floor exhibits, I’m sure we’ll enjoy it the next time we’re here. We’ll be back!
Came from Chicago to see this exhibit. Heard it was decorated for Christmas. Enjoyed it very much. Very interesting seeing how life was om Milwaukee 100 years ago. Also liked it's twin exhibit which shows may European life scenes. This is a great museum
Many interesting and informative exhibits. Easy to get to, easy to park, and reasonable prices.

Went to the Milwaukee Zoo, and it was a fun time! It's a very clean and expansive zoo, easy to walk around in, and various ways to get around! The animals were just cool to look at! Fromnthe reptiles and amphibians, large mammals, and big cats, I was ONLY really disappointed in the gorilla and bear exhibits, only because they were hard to see or just not showing up! I got in on a weekend at a good price, and if you can do the same good reader, do it!

Pictures are of the outside and inside of the Zoo and AVERY large amount of animals I saw!
The layout was very nice! Go in one, out the other, and you're at the entrance of the next environment. The prices for tickets are more than affordable! They are affordable for a reason. Took me and one other person about an hour to go through all of the domes, and that was us trying to go slow. It was beautiful, don't get me wrong, there just wasn't a lot. The Amazon dome was probably the only one I was "wow-ed" at. I think all-in-all for the price, it is definitely worth it! We also went during the Christmas event and it was decorated beautifully!
Great tour through history. I learned a lot and it was lots of fun! I love that all motorcycles in the place actually run with the exception of two. It’s really easy to tell which one don’t. All of the staff are as passionate about motorcycles as I am. Must see. Major check off of my bucket list.
A must visit for all bike lovers and riders. This is the only place where you will get the complete history of Harley Davidson and see all the models they have manufactured so far. They have a very big parking space. I loved the visit My dad and my son thoroughly enjoyed it.
So much fun & it was fantastic to see the vintage motorcycles. You can tell how carefully they curated their collection. The posters, the old magazines, loved it all! We will absolutely be going back again.
It will be a total shame when the new museum opens without the REAL Streets of Old Milwaukee.
Stopped during our road trip and definitely wish we had had more time to spend here.

If you’re a Harley fan, you’re going to want to check this place out. There are a ton of things to do.. shop, eat, ride.. even a museum (which looked awesome but we didn’t have the time to see).

Prices were what you would expect, for the most part, for anything Harley.. some good deals to be had at the outlet.

Make sure you have a few hours at least to spend here if you go!

Wow, this is an excellent natural history museum that kids will absolutely love! Very well done exhibits showcasing animals from all climates. There was a live butterfly exhibit with tons of butterflies all around. Also a civilization exhibit with Egyptian, Sumerian and other near east exhibits. Great job Milwaukee!
Haven't been here since I was young. Wanted the nostalgia before they move to a new location and do not incorporate it in the new museum.

The Best place to visit to get an experience on history. They have dinosaurs to butterfly. The first floor is the best floor imo. The butterfly exhibit is the best part. You can get up close and personal with it. Have it landed on you. It’s better to come early to avoid the rush and find parking.
Our Milwaukee Museum is a fascinating diaramic natural history museum. The displays and sound clips help visitors transport themselves to different times and places. The museum is so comprehensive with what is covered, you could make multiple visits and still find something new to learn about. I love the special exhibits that come through and entice return visits.

This is the BEST museum I've ever been to. We decided to visit on a whim while exploring the city, and it exceeded our expectations! There's a big planetarium, a butterfly conservatory, areas for animals and nature, old-time stuff, different world cultures, and more. I could stay here for days. I want to come back.
Such a great day trip!! The cost of the ticket is $25 per adult but you can easily spend the entire day walking through the exhibits & eating lunch at the cafe in the museum. Safe parking in the parking garage Next-door and direct access into the museum ground floor.

Walking through the live butterfly exhibit is a must!! Such a great experience!

The Mitchell Building was built in 1876 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. This is a beautiful historical building and a must see. Check it out!
Always a gem of a visit even w/o an exhibit/show. This is a wonderfully preserved Victorian Tudor home with extremely interesting furnishings and art in a beautiful lake side setting.
Unmistakably one of my most favorite places in Milwaukee! The addition of wild flowers carefully tended to, just adds to the breath- taking views as you watch kayaks, boats, pontoons, ships, shows & cruise ships slowly slip in & out of the harbour, during Summerfest, a great place to listen to bands play?

So much beauty packed into the iconic Mitchell Park Domes. The domes take you all over the world, right in Milwaukee.
It is a great area with many things to see and do... it is technically a museum... but very beautiful, clean and with many sections such as; dinosaurs, old streets, animals, plants, etc. You will love the butterfly dome!!
Awesome little local museum representing the life and art collectioning of Sarah and Charles Allis at the beginning of 20 century. I've had a great hour there. Recommend to visit.
Beautiful home of Charles Allis and his wife. 10$ entry for adults and you get entry into their sister place (Villa decorative arts). Doesn't take too long to go through.
Excellent and awesome museums,if you visit Milwaukee, you need to visit here. Street of old Milwaukee are details and awesome feels like traveling back to the old Era. Seriously, it is worth it to visit. My kids are happy and love it.
The museum closed on Tuesday and there was a lot of parking around the museum.
Beautiful historic home, made for a nice walk through. The museum lacked information about the home itself and its art collection. Though the current exhibit ‘Ghosts of Segregation’ was fascinating. $10 wasn’t bad, but like i said would have enjoyed more historic information on the home and individual.
Beautiful architectural site. It’s amazing how well preserved it is, the city of Milwaukee has done a great job helping this gem maintained in conjunction with its owners.

One of E. Townsend Mix work is art!
Gorgeous house museum. First floor focuses on furnishings showing how the family lived plus a diverse and global art collection procured by the Allis family. Upper floor is more minimalist, showcasing temporary exhibits and contemporary local artists. This dual-function house means locals can return with confidence that they’ll see something new each time. And visitors and locals can glimpse into the past thanks to the first floor. Admission here gets you admission to the Villa Terrace Museum, just make sure you obtain proof of ticket purchase. Or even better - purchase a membership! Recommend!

I really love it here but you have to ware a face Mask 😷 but it's a good place to see something new and show your kids Different plans around the world
Been here many times swung in yesterday on my way to see my parents the sky was red and I knew I could make it just before the sun hit the horizon so swung in and got some great sunrise shots before heading to the UP
This is a beautiful indoor place that takes you to the outdoor of all around the world!

One can see all the beauty of evolution and plants, plus it’s also an engaging park.

I definitely recommend visiting this place.

This is very neatly maintained, very friendly staff, and also had a cute nice local shop.

Wild Nights was fabulous again. There were definitely new lights. The elephant and reptile buildings were open. There were Carolers in the lobby and quit a few refreshment stands open. The $15 included parking so I feel it was a bargain as so many other light events are much pricier.

Amazing historical building!
Visiting this museum was part of an enchanted afternoon in Milwaukee's Lower East Side. You'll have to decide for yourself what's the most appealing: the private art collection or the home itself. I ambled thru the museum at my own pace and enjoyed all of its tranquility. While standing on the second floor marble staircase, I watched a wedding reception on the patio below. What a lovely setting for special occasions.
