I spent the weekend here running forest service trails in my Bronco. I dispersed camped Saturday night at a wonderful site next to a river. I will definitely be back to spend more time enjoying this beautiful expanse of forest.
I LOVE bring in the woods and water and this place had both! We scouted out some hiking and kayaking spots for the summer. We can wait!
We live near the forest and love to visit as often as we can. Our dogs love to walk there. Peaceful and calm.
"Land of many uses" for 100 years!
Such a beautiful area!
Absolutely gorgeous. We did dispersed camping in a beautiful open area.
When you needs your "woods" fix, the ANF is waiting. Beautiful scenery, waters, natural habits, trails... space... all in rolling Pennsylvania hills.
One of my favorite views. There's no garbage on the hike so carry in - carry out...we always end up picking up garbage but nothing ridiculous.
One of the most well-developed, maintained and beautiful areas in the entire National Forest system, the ANF has something to offer everyone.

From the amazing hiking and riding trails, to the abundant and flowing waterways of the Allegheny to the hosted and dispersed campgrounds, adventure, peace and relaxation can all be found here.

Super helpful visitor's centers too. Come see all that is offered and you'll want to keep coming back for years.

"May the forest be with you!"
SUCH A GIFT !! Such an amazing National Forest… so many trails .. biking .. boating .. scenic … amazing beauty.. nature at its best !
Fantastic area. The red Bridge campsite had decently sized campgrounds with ample space around it. We were situated next to a nice river and a short drive from Kane, which we needed for picking up supplies we forgot.

There is a surprisingly gorgeous main bathroom with several showers as well as smaller, less gorgeous, bathrooms dotted around the sites. No poop-trowel needed.

Across the road is a trail and several other areas suitable for fishing and camping and there's a boat launch right next to it. Overall very pretty and a good mix of having everything you need at your fingertips and being in the wilderness.
Did some dispersed camping off FR 160. Even though we saw a young bear we felt safe. Good weather and enough sun for our solar.
Absolutely stunning. Our family has been camping here every year since longer than I've even been alive (a tradition started by my grandmother). Leave it better than you found it and your time will be magical and beautiful ❤️

Check out my insta @kimberlyannsalvino for more pictures if you are so driven ;)
All of Allegheny is so beautiful. There are so many places to camp in a tent for free and just unplug and enjoy all this forest has to offer including Jayke’s rocks, devils run, Watkins glen, and all the waterfalls you will discover !!
