Disappointing and Unsafe Experience

It’s truly impressive how little the city seems to care about this park. What could be a beautiful landmark with scenic views is instead a depressing place to visit. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by trash everywhere, making the entrance look completely neglected. As we made our way to the castle spot, it only got worse—garbage was scattered all around, and the people hanging out there seemed to be under the influence of drugs. This park is far from family-friendly, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and enjoyable day out. The city needs to step up and address these issues before it gets any worse.

Free public clay tennis courts! How rare and precious is that? Maintained by volunteers in the Gfld Tennis Assoc. (GTA)
Great little spot to get perspective on life. Feels like you're playing SimCity. Love to go here and free associate my brain catching, all the upwards drifting thoughts and words from the brains pondering below... Woah, getting deep in this review...

If you love groups of homeless people or standing around with nothing to do this is definitely THE go to spot.

It's called Poet's Seat here. Beautiful views. First floor is accessible, but it's stairs all the way up. Be careful near the top, there is a loose step. If you can make the trip up, it's incredible.

It's a very nice place to hang out and watch the birds eat the seeds and do their thing! The most part it tends to be quiet and peaceful it's a lot more beautiful down there than the way it used to be
If you are looking to do just the loop, keep an eye out because there are so many side trails. But the upside of getting sidetracked is, it is a great place to explore.
Quiet Other than the nearby highway. Pay attention if you only want to do the loop. Many side trails.
It's cool and all but don't go when it's rained recently it gets really muddy

A nice little park, somewhat shabby. Benches to sit, but no picnic tables, which is kind of what we were looking for.
I took a nice walk here. The area is managed by Greenfield Conservation and is unlike Massachusetts WMAs but has similar rules. The trail markers are easily visible.

The parking area has ample parking. Enough for a a dozen or so vehicles. The parking area is hard to see when approaching but the large red sign is unmissable.

Highland Park is a quick way to get to Sachem's head. This wood platform is accessible from a trail running south of the cliff. The trail is very easy and will bring you right to the top. The view on top is great. You'll mostly he looking south and west and Deerfield and Greenfield.

Very easy for children and dogs.

Plenty of parking.
Very nice property with some varied terrain. There is a hill near the beginning, but nothing very challenging. I enjoy walking here, and the noise from the highway is only evident near the start. Frankly, the rush of a highway is not as bad as some lower-traffic areas that have honking or loud exhausts. My only complaint is that the trail marking is inadequate (it may have been better some years ago). There are a number of places where it is easier to walk the wrong way than the right way, and you can see no markings whatsoever to give you guidance. I have gotten turned around quite a few times here, as there are roads and trails that are not part of the official loop, but you don't really know which one you are supposed to take. Take a picture of the map at the beginning and look carefully at intersections to try to figure out what to do.

My family and I went and seen the fireworks a few days ago and they were great not as amazing as last year but I would recommend this place to go to for a family outing the field is huge and the playground is small but nice the kids play while we were waiting for the fireworks and we didn't have to sit in the field with everyone else we actually sit on the grass area between the fence and the playground and it's very cozy, usually quite unless you have disrespectful people but you get that anywhere honestly it just depends. So yes this place I highly recommend to go to even when there isn't fireworks.
Maintenance is needed to clear the trails of debris, but we had a lovely morning walk. Traffic noise on surrounding roads can't be helped but makes it less inviting. We saw wildflowers and trees in blossom, and our dog was very happy with the mud we steered around. Foot bridges over streams are great.

A smaller park with not much to do. It has some statues and small play scapes of trains which kept my 3 year old nephew entertained for a little bit. It runs along active train tracks (don't worry, it's fenced and safe). There's some areas to sit and a good amount of flat open green space. Well maintained.

While there's not a lot to do perse, I'm glad it exists. It's a good place to gather with friends to socialize or picnic, which is especially nice during COVID. If you have lawn games, I'm sure this could be a great place to bring them and play.

Nice place to relax and eat lunch. Plenty of space to walk your dog and catch a base/softball game or play tennis when the weather is warmer. Good little playground for the kids and cool sledding in the winter.

Park not that well maintained though beautiful views of Greenfield and Turners Falls. Ample benches for watching the sunset. Poet's Seat is fun to walk up though the top level was closed when I went there.maybe because the Holiday lights were still installed on top.

Love the big open space, the view of the tower, the playground and it even has one of those little free libraries. Cleaner than most parks in the area. Wish it had a little more structure for kiddos a bit older.

Also some stunning views for a super low stakes, low impact hike. Enjoyed the climb 100% and staring out on the deck was phenomenal.

Sachem Head is a really impressive ledge with an overhang. Not sure if people climb here but I would assume so. Trail is rocky and rugged in places. Not to many people, although I assume it's a lot more crowded in the north part of the area.

We like going here, close to our home in Greenfield, nice wide paths. No really vigorous hikes just nice walking in the woods though you can find a couple of more strenuous hikes if you look for them.
Good place for a short or a long hike. Once a while you see other people, but it is usually quiet. It's marked with numbers, but after marker 10, it has more trail branches.

There is a parking area and large double field for ball games and tennis courts as well. I sat in my car in the parking lot eating take out while watching a family flying a kite on one of the fields. Beacon Field is kept very clean. Beacon Field is also the site for the large annual Greenfield Fourth of July Fireworks display. Many people flock here yearly for the fireworks, food booths, music and social time waiting for the always well worth it fire works display. The event was very much missed with covid 19 restrictions this year.

Nice view from Poet's seat Tower. Park within walking distance from my apt. Needs a playground, at least a few swing sets. Can't remember if there are picnic tables. Older people need a place to sit that is not the grass.

I love rocky mountain park, there are endless hiking trails you could explore all day, I don't want to spoil anything😁 I'll leave it as great surprise a wonderful place to bring your family or your significant other or anyone you want to share you time with if you stay into the evening you may catch a beautiful sunset. I have many good memories here.

The Beacon Field are is very nice. It's a very large green space with two spots Fields. One for football (soccer) and another for baseball / softball. The park has a kids play area and there are also red clay tennis courts. Generally the park is very peaceful. Sometimes it can be a little busy. People like to park in the upper parking area and eat lunch in there cars. The park has three parking areas in all. This is also the park where the town has the 4th of July and winter carnival. Definitely an awesome place to just relax and fly a kite.
A very easily accessible place for short hiking and cross country running year round. You will get a nice view of Greenfield once you reach the iconic Poet Seat tower. A locals favorite for watching the sun go down.
Just WOW! Not many towns can boast a beautiful spot like this to take in the panoramic views of the whole town and surrounding wilderness. Definitely a great spot to visit each season to take it all in!
This is a really great example of why I prefer conservation areas to state parks. The trails and parking area are well maintained and the conservation commission clearly cares about the area. The trail is also marked with numbers corresponding to information on the trail map regarding stewardship, very educational and necessary in these times.

I love the energy Park the history in the exact area where the park is is in itself extremely cool. Now there are Weekly concerts every Thursday night is a free concert and you can rent out Amphitheater for your own show if you desire. This park used to. Have have beautiful flower gardens and people eating lunch on your lunch breaks I will go down there to write in my journal now it's a place that the town lets how much people hang out and sleep and it's unfortunate. When there is a planned event I highly recommend you go cuz it is a lot of fun however I recommend going to a different Park if you're just going to bring your kids down for a half an hour to hang out with them or something more than there are a group of people hanging out and smoking cigarettes and it's just not a healthy environment at this current moment unless there's an event going on.
