Green Acres Park is a super safe area. Great place to my bike to and from my house and there is always something for everyone.

A great park with a variety of things to do. There are gazebos, sports fields, tennis courts, and even a memorial. In addition to this there are a lot of paved walkways and some small trails through the woods. I definitely recommend coming out and taking a walk around.
Great park with a pavilion surrounded by trees. #bigtimeyardgames approved 👍

thought the trail would be longer. trash in the water
Excellent program on the Montford Point Marines. I'm looking forward to the one March 18th on American Gold Star Mothers, mothers whose children died while on active duty.
Awesome place to walk your dog have a picnic kayak or hike on one of the many trails .

Great place for us to hold a Wounded Warrior Project meeting. The team really enjoyed the atmosphere and the abundance of options here. Because it’s near the police station everyone felt safe. It’s a great place to see different military staged items as well. I would highly recommend.

My first visit to this park for a group gathering. The grounds hold the municipal court and police department as well as tennis courts, picnic areas, and a walking track.
You are greeted by the all branches veterans memorial when you first arrive.

This park is SUPER boring. Not much to walk around. The little lake is nice to look at but you should just stick to the green acres side.
This park is humongous! It has something for everyone. Walking trails, tennis courts, handball courts, racquetball courts, volleyball nets, and playgrounds. Very clean and just a great place, and has covered areas for picnics too. There is an area with a dedication for Vets also. For those that play Pokemon Go, there are gyms and stops all over the place. I assume popular place during the warmer weather, but despite the cold there were serious walkers, with and without pets.
Just a thin layer of ice on the pond on a early morning sunny day

A great park with a variety of activities, including several playgrounds (with accessible swings), open fields, bike/walking paths, overlooks, tennis courts, soccer and football fields... And of course, lots of wildlife. Scenic, serene, and a hidden gem in the area!

My mother and I walk the beautiful trails in the mornings. We see all kinds of wildlife - turtles, chipmunks, groundhogs, all kinds of birds including turkeys during our walks! The park is so beautiful and well maintained. Recently, we rented the Front Pavilion to celebrate my bother's 50th birthday and the pavilion was cleaned and tables were positioned just right for us at the time of our arrival. The atmosphere was so peaceful that I found my 85 year old uncle laying on the bench playing his harmonica! The kids had fun playing volleyball, tennis and just running around! It is a wonderful place for the family and/or the next event you may be considering! (I was not paid to say this. All true - LOL!!!)

Nice little pond. Lots of garbage around tho. Caught a couple small mouths
Special little town. Full of antic stores.
Great presentation today by AFHM that featured the 1975 Vietnam Baby Lift mission at the end of the war.
I love what they are doing with children's programming. Making social studies really fun for kids.
Always has great historical lectures

This is the home of General (and President) Ulysses S. Grant in the waning days of the Civil War. Sadly, this is a private home, and not open to the public. The attached photos are all that you will see of the house. Grant was heading to this house on April 14, 1865, the night on which Abraham Lincoln was assassinated.
History buffs can take consolation in seeing this house still standing. The Grant Cottage at 991 (or 995) Ocean Ave. in Long Branch, NJ was destroyed in the early 1960's.
The Grant Home in Galena, IL, and the Grant Cottage in Gansevoort, NY are available to the public.
Lots to see from Burlington's history and more hands-on experiences to come for kids after renovations!
Hands on history for kids? Awesome
