Nice 90-120 loop Garstin to Shannon to Henderson. Some steep parts but overall moderate difficulty. Start at Garstin trailhead
We took two walking tours with the society: Rat Pack Playground & Golden Era Hollywood Homes. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. The tours were a good combination of architecture education & the history of celebrity life in Palm Springs.

The distance covered was very reasonable and the terrain was very manageable. Would highly recommend their tours to increase your knowledge of how the city came to be and how mid century modern began to flourish.
We did the “Heart of the City” walking tour with Vinny. Great way to learn all about the history of Palm Springs! Vinny was knowledgeable and had tons of great ancedotes. Wear comfortable shoes since there’s quite a bit of walking.

Didn’t finish the full trail. Great views of the valley
Did the Bike Like a Star tour. Very informative, lots of history about the area as well as the stars. Headsets were nice, made it much easier to hear. Ride was mostly easy with a lot of stops. A few hills only one of which was steep; walking is totally fine, guide was very considerate.

Note that the tour is closer to 4 hours, than the 3 the site says. It did start to feel a little long but all good stops so I don’t know what I’d cut.
Today my friends and I took the Cherished Legacy tour. It was great. I'd you are looking for history this is the tour for you. Yes it's in a cemetery so not a ton of walking. This is the tour to take if you want to learn more about the people who helped make Palm Springs what it is today. Our guide Cecile was so great . The passion she holds for the history of Palm Springs shows in her storytelling of all the characters. Highly recommend this tour
I would also like to compliment Steven on his help in getting our tour booked. He went above and beyond

This non-profit artists cooperative has been around since the 1950’s. Sales from the wonderful gallery support local artists and fund an after school art program for local middle schools. Gallery offerings rotate every two months, there are special events in a separate gallery (like featured artist shows, holiday sales…) and classes are offered in a variety of media. If you visit, the gallery is manned by volunteer members—maybe you’ll meet the artist who created the piece that goes home with you!
Annette gave us a fantastic tour of Palm Springs. Our third visit here and we learned so much. Highly recommend to get a feel of city history and neighborhoods.

I absolutely love this place. Unique local art: glass, ceramics, jewelry, painting and photography. Reasonable prices and always a local artist in the store.
Relatively easy hike near downtown Palm Springs with a great view of the mountains and Palm Springs.

Nice stop for art lovers and a great way to help support the local desert artists. Many types of media including lovely ceramics, jewelry, paintings and photography in a convenient Palm Springs location. I even got lucky on a late Tuesday winter afternoon and was able to park right outside!

Nice gallery of vert talented local artists employing a variety of media. Certainly worthy of a visit.
Earl Henderson Trail is sort of a snoozer unless you decide to tack on some connecting trails to it. Shannon, Berns, Garstin, and Araby Trails as add-ons make for a much more scenic hike
We took the tour earlier today. It was fantastic. Our tour guide was punctual, knowledgeable, professional and had a great sense of humor. We felt like we were on a private tour. This experience exceeded our expectations. Book your tour now. You won’t regret it!

I'm a hiking tour guide in the Palm Springs area. This is one of the trails I take people on as part of the Garstin Loop hike. You can find me by searching for, trail ahead hiking.
Very nice trail. Excellent views of the wash on the north side of the mountain, and can be used to make a loop that hits the summit.
Great, informative, knowledgeable
Most interesting tour we have been on. highly recommend 👌
We did this tour because their other tour that focused exclusively on mid-century modern homes was full. We enjoyed getting to see the architecture of the homes and learning about their famous original owners. I wish we could have gone inside one of the older mid-century modern homes as apart of the tour. We did get to go tour around exterior of a Spanish revival home.
A lot of reading: wall placards and such. Interesting if not easy for our modern brains. it would be grand if they got some more physical items. I enjoyed what was there regarding famous players of old palm springs. clean. donation. Closes early(ish)

I purchased one of my favorite prices of original art here. Every time I go in the staff/ volunteers are very friendly and helpful. It’s fun to go in and see the art.

This is a lovely hike to take when you have time to meander through the foothills. I didn't plan very well and ended up hiking for three hours with no water or food! Do not make that same mistake! At times the trail is hard to follow because there are several paths to choose from. I eventually made it back and I can't wait to go again!
If you come to Palm Springs I highly recommend you come to the historical society. They have several exhibits (cost is like $1 per exhibit), and you'll get a sense of the uniqueness of the area. Very cool historical destination.
Hiked up Earl Henderson to Shannon to Berns and came back on the Gerstin trail, 3.6 miles with a 1000 ft gain, great hike!

Well-curated juried show of local artists in one room and affordable local art in every possible medium in the other. Proceeds support visual arts programming for kids. Volunteer run by friendly artists in a heritage building. Well worth a visit!
