Peaceful, if somewhat small, sanctuary of wilderness in the middle of manicured suburbia. The babbling brook with a view on bullrushes is particularly magical!

Great park and soccer field. The only reason why I gave it three stars was because the other night, my son had a 7pm soccer game and the field lights never turned on which had the game canceled.

I take my twin toddlers there all the time. Highly recommended for peace, safety, and cleanliness.
Had a blast. I ran the track. Then went down the big slide. Then tried the swings out. Every other one was broke though. Thought the mushroom table and chairs was Kool. And awesome soccer field and basketball court. Seen kids playing little league baseball. I went down to the creek and seen 4 baby deer and a momma doe. Had a good time.
love this oasis and hidden gem!!!

great walking trails and lots of birds and deer

not far away from civilization but you feel far away from it all!!

definitely a must go! geocaching there too
Nice and quiet, barely anyone there, and some of the trails get blocked off but besides that it’s amazing for a small little hike.

Another Hometown Montclair 💎 of a park.

❤️
Saw this on instagram but not totally sure what the hype is. Nice hidden trail, not well marked but it's very small so I don't think it'd be that easy to get lost. We did come across a coyote as we got close to houses-there was a coyote standing there staring at us from a distance as we turned a corner. Be aware of this especially with small pets!!! It was also super buggy. Probably wouldn't return.
Very nice park with a small pond.
Brookdale Park is well managed. It is beautiful and peaceful. Wonderful walking or running paths. A nice place for children to play. There is a lot to offer. Highly recommended.

The park was beautifully maintained. It was a nice place to bbq and had plenty of room for multiple bbqs. The restrooms were surprisingly clean and well kept.

Really nice
Quiet safe clean
Grew up here, lived on street that has this behind it. Must have spent 1000's of hours down here with all the neighborhood kids, back when kids got dirty and hurt. Must have ruined countless sneakers in it's brook! Great spot for an easy hike or to walk your dog 😎🤙

Very nice park. Great place for kids to play. I would rate it higher, but the restrooms are horrible.
The scent of roses hits you right at the moment you enter the park. Gorgeous garden!
I took my preschool class of 2 and 3 year old children here and everyone loved it! Perfect introduction to hiking, while being very doable. They loved seeing how the dead leaves become soil, touching moss, seeing and hearing the water, and seeing wild flowers. Also a terrific place to introduce being quiet and listening to birds- so many to hear! Fyi: small area, no playground, restrooms or picnic area. Good place for a leashed dog, we saw one on our walk.

I was there past peak but still took hundreds of photos! The iris were simply amazing. What a joy this garden is. Must see while in bloom. End of may is best.
Sometimes you meet the most interesting people when you wander...this rose garden brought me that. Its well tended and has a nice variety of lovely blooms. If you like roses...or flowers in general...add it! It pairs nicely with the presby iris garden and the Van Vleck gardens.
I love ❤️ this rose garden. I visited it on 06/04/23 and saw all roses 🌹 in full bloom.

The heat killed most of the flowers. I'm sure tgey are so pretty in spring. The grounds are beautiful for a picnic and walking around.
Beautiful gardens! Impeccably maintained. Some of the Irises are over 100 years old, and all are labeled with the variety and year. Peak bloom in May.
It's a public park, but they take donations. There is only parallel street parking. But I've never had an issue finding a spot.
The gardens are amazing when the irises are at their peak. Definitely worth the trip. Check the website for the best times to see the irises.
Beautifully maintained gardens wit by a wide variety of Iris. They have picnic tables to eat, and the area is large enough for kids to play. Street parking only, but there is parking in the rear for a more secluded park.

It was an awesome breathtaking experience. The people who worked there were quite kind and talkative. All the plants were very well kept and exquisite. But, I would rate it a 4.8 because it was a little small, can't really blame them, but slightly, ever so slightly underwhelming.

Beautiful peaceful little spot in Montclair for a quick walk
Verdant green foliage, streaming waters, and a pleasant path to re-energize. Not too large, trail takes less than 30 minutes. Dog friendly, but no developed picnic area.
For those seeking a quiet and remote walk, this is it. A preserve on its way to escalation offering a slice of flavor we all can use from the ordinary.
Hidden in a rural neighborhood yet uniquely attainable from 2 entrances with a simple loop thru park. Go on a sunny or even snowy day.

Small, but well equipped playground. There are swings, but not really enough of them. Plenty of slides, climbing structures, and activities to keep the children busy. All of the equipment is just a few months old.

Well maintained gardens with nice benches to sit and relax. We spent close to two hours lounging here while our kids played and ran across the garden and had great fun. There is also a nice play area right across the road.
Such a peaceful and beautiful garden, we had my daughters ceremony here with only 15 people and the Thursday was perfect, only con is the pole in the middle wish it was on the side of the garden instead.

Nice, small park. Trees near full autumn color as of mid-Nov. Has a lake bridge with a little overflow waterfall.

Nice, uncrowded spot for a short walk.

Remnant of a former golf course; look hard and you’ll see a few artifacts.
It's a nice location, could use a lot of maintenance, weeding and the rusted flag pole is an eye sore in the middle. Not many Rose's in bloom they look very under nourished and can use some rose food... to the left of the bride is all dead bushes.
Great, beautiful preserve in the middle of Montclair. Took about 5 minutes of walking around to realize where the entrance was between the 2 houses (pictured). Street parking. Once you’re inside it’s beautiful and peaceful to walk around for an hour or so. I saw ducks, deer, birds, definitely will be back.
This is a great little bit of wildlife amongst the suburbs but its also bo secret. There's maybe a mile of trails mostly consisting of one loop. It's a nice place to visit if you want to feel a bit of wildlife without driving too far. It's a good bird watching destination too.
It's never over crowded. Side street parking. A branch of it connects to the play field of an elementary school and is part of the Lenape trail. It is within walking distance of Applegate's ice cream so you can treat yourself after a walk. There are benches around. There is no picnic area, when covid precautions are done you can picnic on your own blanket. There is a trash can and recycling bin. There is a human and pet water fountain, unfortunately it is turned off because of covid concerns. The people maintaininf it did a lovely job updating it and keeping it nice. There is Brook that goes to a pond with a fountain. I have seen a turtle and crane there but a family of ducks seem to call it home. There are sunny spots and shady spots, the perfect little park to relax in. There is no children's playground, but plenty of room for tag and paved walkway used for bikes and skooters.

Nice facilities, participated in an outdoor basketball tournament. The grounds can be maintained better, bathrooms should be made available instead of porta potties.
Yantacaw Brook Park is a hidden gem within Montclair. This park brings very positive calm vibes and can bring down any stress levels as you walk through this park. With a style that portrays montclair as an elegant upscale community that takes pride in their parks and recreation. The area displays a beautiful waterfall surrounding a small pond with a creek running through. Stop by in the mid day to see some ducks, and come have a picnic in this beautiful nook in Montclair.

Much of the playground equipment has been vandalized, along with the parkour installations. And so much trash!
Beautiful! Save this place by donating money. Beautiful congregation and liturgy.
Still a beautiful house of worship not the same spirit among the old parishioners since the new pastor arrived
Sunday morning walk in Brookdale Park, passing by the perfection that is the Rose Garden and its environs, I just want to give a shoutout to the Essex County Parks, Recreation and Culture Affairs. KEEP UP the good/great work.!!!

A small garden devoted primarily to Irises with a lovely grouping of Peonies. Bring a picnic to make a casual outing.
Love this church with all my heart. I was baptized here and I was an alter boy for ten years. I'm 60 years old now and will love this church forever 💞💞💞💞
Wonderful suburban nature retreat. The severe weather has taken it's toll on the trees; but, that's nature.
A great place for dog walkers.
The entrances and signage are less visible from the street. Street parking is the only parking.
Seems main entrance is via Riverview Dr & Riverview Drive West in Montclair. Best to search using a mapping software as this intersection is secluded also.
Once inside the park, the seclusion is a benefit.
Our lady of Mt. Carmel Church built be Italian Immigrants who came to The Fourth Ward of Montclair looking for religious freedom. Our Church built and constructed by immigrants brick by nrick.
I love churches with classical designs. This church is close to the downtown of Bloomfield Ave.
This the church was part of my family, from grandparents to cousins and my children. Our lady of my carmel festive , st . Sanest ion. Burials, communions, baptism. This should be a land mark,as well as Immaculate conception. DeGeralmo, cutter, panico,Ferrerio, I even gave a picture of the new saint.
