The place is nothing short of amazing. We visited on a cold, windy, rainy day, but it was totally worth it. The ticket cost is $5 per person. Keep in mind that the walk is long, challenging, and includes many ups and downs.

The sceneries are breathtaking. You must parked and take a walk on the bridge that lead you into the castle. Enjoy a cup of coffee watching the ancient atmosphere.
A suggestive village on top of a hill that is slowly falling apart.
The village by itself is amazing, small to be honest, but full of a variety of view of the surroundings that makes worth walking down all the streets.
Souvenirs shops inside are unexpectedly honest with prices, not so much with the type of souvenirs they sell, for example "typical Italian socks" is clearly a scam.
We haven't tried the restaurants there because even from outside they looked like too expensive if not proper touristic traps. To visit the entire village you won't take more than 2h in total so if you plan your visit correctly you can eat before or after the visit in the proper city where shops are more honest and affordable.
The entrance ticket to the village is 5€ and the parking is 1.50€ per hour
A very nice place specially during Christmas
During my visit to Civita di Bagnoregio, I was immersed in an atmosphere of absolute peace and tranquility for about 30 minutes, devoid of any tourists. This mystical small town, an embodiment of ancient and medieval heritage, stirred within me a profound sense of wonder.

The serene ambiance was nothing short of captivating, accentuated by the absence of crowds. Strolling through its streets, I encountered a living relic of history, where each stone and building spoke volumes about the past eras that shaped its identity.

The amalgamation of ancient and medieval architecture created a visual tapestry that evoked a sense of timelessness. Perched upon its rugged landscape, Civita di Bagnoregio exuded a breathtaking charm, showcasing a panorama that seemed plucked from the pages of a storybook.

However, amid the tranquility, a poignant awareness emerged—this picturesque town, with its deep historical roots, faces the inevitable challenge of erosion and gradual decline. It invoked a mix of emotions, a blend of admiration for its beauty and a sense of urgency to safeguard its cultural legacy.

Civita di Bagnoregio stood as a testament to human artistry and resilience across centuries, underscoring the importance of preserving such cultural gems against the passage of time and natural forces.

Very nice place to visit, but it does take physical fitness to do that as we need to walk all the way up there.
A few nice restaurants are serving typical italian food.
Stay there for half a day to wondering to take some nice pictures.
Sehr schlechte Erfahrung. Was soll das?
This is a must see in Italy. While yes there’s a 5$ per person fee (as of right now) it’s worth it. I’d suggest not going if u are in a wheelchair or physically disabled as it will be a bit of a walk up a steep bridge. There’s a few shops along with restaurants. The best part has to be the view tho. 9/10
Ticket office to get ticket to walk into Civita di Bagnoregio. 5 euro per person ,dogs are free. You can't actually drive to this location, you have to park at a parking lot before this and walk, about one kilometer from parking lot into town and it's downhill and then uphill, so if you have mobility issues keep that in mind.
It was so beautiful and picturesque. Everywhere you looked was breathtaking. It’s about 30 minutes ride outside Orte, Italy and worth it. The walk up to the town of at most 15 full time residents has lots of restaurants, shops, and views to hours of enjoyment. Parking is in the town center and can be limited. It’s a must see if you can. Tickets are purchased just before you enter the bridge. Just 5 Euro each.

Impresionante. Recomiendo verla a cualquier hora del dia
Very pretty to view the town and walk around it. The museum gives you interesting information on the geology, history, and how the town is being preserved.
Amazing place and beautiful ! 👍👍
Well worth the walk. Park in town at any of the lots with blue spaces, and give yourself a few hours to get up and back. Buy tickets to enter the Old Town at the bridge entrance, 5€ea. Good food and drink await and some nice small shops for souvenirs. Enjoy!

Amazing medieval village. Geological museum in main square well worth a visit - with some useful English translations explaining archaeological landscape.

It’s like walking back 2000+ years. You wonder what the people and life was like at the top of this mountain so long ago. Views are breathtaking. Many great shops and restaurants too.
Beautiful hilltop town is unique in it's sheer cliffs and bridge access. You don't need long here to stroll the village alleyways and get a coffee. It's a nice 15 minute walk from the car park. Tickets required to walk to the village are 5 euro. Parking is by the hour.

Amazing place. You can access with a car quite near the Civita. But the car need to be left on the parking a bit futher away. Unless you have accomodation there that allows you to park just under the bridge. The restaurants serve lovely food - better to make reservation for the dinner as it is busy at 8 p.m. Ice creams of course. And famous fragrance shop from Civita. This is a perfect place to shoot amazing photos - lots of trees, flowers and spots.
I've visited this beautiful city 3 times by now, and it never fails to impress me.

A well preserved medieval city that was built on a rock/mountain.

They call it the dying city as it is slowly collapsible from the edges.

Many nice cafes and restaurants to choose from.

Make sure to walk through the different small neighborhoods and enjoy.

PS: it is 5 Euros to enter the city now. Also, be prepared to cross the bridge on foot which is quite the workout.

Very crowded. Buy tickets in advance on the Civita app or wait hours in line

Drive all the way here and afraid of either the €5 entry or the hike up to the place itself? You're missing out.

This is a city in a position unlike any other I've ever seen. One way in and how could you possibly turn away after seeing the beautiful city perched up top, begging to be witnessed from all angles?

Not going to lie, we didn't know about how the parking works if there is any way to park closer so the moment we saw the signs indicating it is residents only we parked all the way out there and walked the 20 mins in. There are two grueling inclines on the way. The one to the ticket office, and the gorgeous bridge into the city itself. But forget about all that and enjoy the little things in life. Break a sweat and earn your way into this beautiful little gem and just soak it all in. You get so many panoramic views and an immediate hug from the small stature of the town itself.

Drive here. Get your workout. And you'll never forget it.

I don't know what went through the mind of ancient realtors, but it seems every top flight construction had to be built on the top of freaking mountains. This place is amazing! A small village perched on the top of a very tall hill. I will say that heights frighten the hell out of me, and walking up the long narrow path was nerve wracking. Coming back down was worse. But completely worth it! I have never visited a more interesting village and would love to have leased a small apartment that was available here. This truly unique location had very few visitors when I went, and it was simply amazing to see the ancient stone work, the festive cats, and beautiful floral arrangements. Would love to see it at night sometime, as photos simply don't do it justice. This is a must visit when in Italy...

An ancient village founded 2,500 years ago located on the top of a hill. If you visit it in a foggy day and look up to it from the bottom of the hill, it looks like the town is floating in the sky. And that’s fascinating. The old town has declined hundreds of years ago and now became known in Italian as La città che muore ("The Dying Town"). it may take a few hours to get there by car. But it’s definitely an unique village among all those beautiful small towns scattered across the middle of Italy.
I have never seen this kind of view in any other places in the world. You can find this special view only here. When you come here by your car, be careful. You have to park your car before proceeding to the ticket office otherwise you will get the fine as the car of tourist is not allowed to enter the road to the office. The nearest parking area is Parking Civita do Bagnoregio, so you park a car there and walk to the ticket office.
In summer, the sunlight is strong and there are not so much shade especially during the road to this place, so I recommend that you take a bottle of water with you.
One of the most impressive places I have seen in Italy. Beautifully located a top of a hill with only one wau in/out. Outstanding views with snow covered mountains in distance.
Wow, this place is unique. And there are actually people who still live here. There has been some damage from the recent earthquakes in Italy so don't be surprised if you see some work being done to the buildings and church when you go. Take your time and stroll through this amazing town. The vistas are gorgeous and let your mind wander to what it must of been like to live there hundres of years ago, enchanting.
