An excellent waterfall with easy access by a foot path. Some parking in a layby. Worth a visit

Wonderful collection of modern stories and history plenty to learn . So much for the children to do. What a bargain 👌

Really good example of a local museum. A lot of interactive tasks for kids.

Short lengths of single file FREE parking spaces on either side of the bridge where the gate is. To be honest, we did Cotter and Aysgarth in the same afternoon, and I enjoyed Cotter Force far better. Aysgarth is better for facilties and a family visit with a cafe and toilets. Cotter for a swim and paddle and a more secluded waterfall. The path to the force is new and well constructed as it follows the river. To be honest, I was not expecting Cotter Force to be so good. It was fantastic.

Lovely waterfall, 5min walk from the road. Car parking for 6ish cars.
Was hard to take a picture as people swimming in the waterfall!

Fantastic museum, but that's not all. Friendly and helpful staff, great exhibits, a superb cafe, decent sized car park, old steam train (it doesn't go anywhere I'm afraid), great cakes and some of the best breakfast rolls (served all day) we've ever had.

Superb museum. Friendly reception and plenty of information. Parking directly outside, no height barrier (£3.50 for 2 hours). Brilliant railway carriage with exhibits all the way through, mainly about this locality, but with lots of interesting anecdotes. Inside the main building is a small mine shaft to walk through, information and speaking earphones, an abundance of old craft tools and machines. Tinsmith, cheesemakers, weavers and knitters to name only a few. There's a exhibition upstairs about keeping heaths, farmlands etc safe - with some colouring activities for children. Toilets, tourist information, gift shop and walk through to a seperate cafe all inside. Well presented and really interesting. Around £5 each (a £1 off if parked in the carpark alongside the museum).

A really pretty little waterfall. You can park in a lay-by on the main road for free, then a short accessible path to the waterfall.
This is a free to visit waterfall and a lovely spot to stop and stretch your legs if you have been travelling a while.
Recommend a visit if passing

One of the most tiresome areas to locate. Waze took us to a different spot. Then we had to use Google maps which was better at pointing where the location could be. There are NO pointers to exactly where to stop the car apart from a giant P (free parking) and a faded wooden board which says cotters force. Sat nav will take you to a private house but keep driving past until you see a parking area. We drove past thrice until we could find it.
Anyways once you park it’s a ten minute walk to the waterfalls, where you can swim and also take dogs. There plenty of lush greenery, flowers, butterflies and creek.
I feel the area could be better labelled as it is recommended by the Yorkshire dales national park list.

Small, beautiful waterfall close to the road. There's a small parking place along the road and you can walk from the small footpath directed to the waterfall. It's an accessible root. Unlike most places in the UK, parking and visiting everything is free

A small force but easily accessible. There is a gravel path from the road to the force. There is limited parking on the road very close to the gate to the path.

A great day out. Brilliant Curlew exhibition at the time of visiting. Fantastic.

Great value, loads to see and do and handily placed to explore Hawes. Nice cafe too.

I do have to agree with many of the other reviews that this was an absolute pain to find, but gorgeous and a quick 1/4 mile flat walk from the road nonetheless. If you are in the area I recommend a visit as it is beautiful. It is wheelchair accessible as there are ramps and very flat.

Great little museum with a good range of exhibits collected around the Dales, about rural life in the Dales.
The collection includes a tin smiths workshop, a clog maker, cheese and dairy, as well as a small mining exhibit. Out in the railway carriage is more small exhibits on schools, and community life.
Good for an hour on a wet day in Hawes.
You get part of your carparking refunded for your entry fee.
Small café on site.
