I knew it would be good but had no idea how great this was. 3 full museums in one. Any one of them would stand on their own and be a destination but having all 3 top caliber in one location and in such an iconic setting is just perfect. Absolute must do if you like museums at all, have kids or are interested in Cincinnati history or history in general. Perfect.
Went to see the Pompeii exhibit. It was absolutely well worth the $$. It took my grandson and me about 2 hours to tour. Really fascinating. The museum over all is wonderful. Not too expensive if you are going to spend the day. I would highly recommend it if you love history and science
There is a variety of things to see here and is perfect for all ages. There are three levels to the museum and lots to explore. My kids' ages vary from 11 to 4, and everyone had so much fun! Children's museums and Museum of Natural history & Science were fun for kids to explore and its made in such a way where you keep going forward and go through the whole side of the museum without missing anything. There are games in different areas that kids can enjoy. The cave they have actually looks and feels real, be ready for lots of stairs. The museum has a few shown they show on OMNIMAX that everyone enjoys. The parking is $6 for no matter how long you stay so 5 mins or 5 hours you pay the same. Overall it's a great place to visit.
This museum is outstanding! Great for families, with lots of things to do/see with even younger children. The caves, the dinosaur exhibit, the history of Cincinnati, and the kids play zone are all wonderful. Today was a rainy day, and the museum was the perfect place to go. Also, as someone who grew up watching the "Challenge of the Super Friends," it's really neat that the outside of the museum was the inspiration for the Justice League's Hall of Justice.
There are at least three museums in one place which is a brilliant concept for a city. We were there for the Pompeii exhibit. But one grandkid is a dinosaur nerd and we hit that too

They literally had everything from live animals to an awesome jungle gym/climbing area. Plus it's air conditioned, there's a cafe & so many amazing exhibits!

Great experience. Amazing building, fantastic museums and very reasonable price! Our kids love the children’s museum and Natural History Museum best. They have tons of fun things for the kids to do and to explore. If you want to skip the line for tickets, buy it online ahead of time.
Absolutely wonderful experience at the Pompeii exhibit after hours. Was about a two hour experience and then a special guest after talking about his research in Pompeii.
Everything was very well done and so many gorgeous artifacts. Information was also fantastic and great for children over 10. Only one area that parents may want to skip if nervous about sexual themes but can easily be bypassed.
Employees were fantastic at the museum and very helpful. Everything also super clean, especially bathrooms. Great experience for everyone.

What do you say about a local icon? To be there is like stepping back in time. My father grew up in Downtown Cincinnati in the Depression and remembered when Union Terminal was the heart of the city. A constant flow of trains, travelers, taxis, cars and tourists. He said the trains would come and go so fast, you’d get dizzy watching them. The building is well preserved and too much to tell about. And YES, you really can hear someone whisper from across the Rotunda in the corner by the front doors. Ask anyone that works there if you don’t know what I mean. An acoustic phenomenon too cool to miss! Come with a friend to hear it.
This place is amazing! I used my reciprocal membership at another science museum to get in, and my family and I explored the Cinci history museum, natural history museum, and the children’s museum. All of these museums were not only perfect for my 3 and 6 year old, but my husband, mom in law and I thoroughly enjoyed them, too. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars was the food- it was overpriced and underwhelming. I highly recommend eating elsewhere prior to coming here. Aside from that, I loved every bit of the experience.
Ok so I'm giving it 3 stars because the Lego thing is cool but definitely not worth the money it's to short and then they play areas you got kids in there parents not watching them, the kids literally taking over everything there was nothing to play with at all if you found something they came and snatched it from you nobody said anything to these kids at all and my daughter wanted to get on the and these kids kept yelling my bus this is our bus and said this is all of our stuff you can't have it don't touch it like you're supposed to share you're not supposed to take everything in the play area, I make my daughter share she's allowed to play with a few items at once not the whole areas! The museum part was cool but other than that I don't think we will be going back.
I LOVE The Museum Center/Union Terminal. It currently is home to The Natural History Museum, The Cincinnati History Museum, Omnimax Theater (all accessible from the main floor) and the Children's Museum (lower level). Traveling exhibits fill the space across from the Children's Museum.
The gift shop, on the main floor, is full of fun and educational things for children as well as adults.
Graeter's has an ice cream shop just outside the door of the Natural History Museum.
I recommend obtaining an annual membership which allows free admission to any of the museums, free parking and 10% discount on purchases. It also has reciprocity at participating museums across the US.
The Natural History Museum has always been my favorite "museum". Since the renovation several years ago the Dinosaur Hall has become my new favorite "section". Life-size dinosaur skeletons fill the entire area, giving the visitor a true feeling of how small we are in comparison. There are real bones in those displays, too. I'm awestruck standing so close to real dinosaur bones.
There is SO MUCH more beyond those bones: The Cave, The Ice Age exhibit, Neil Armstrong Space Exploration Gallery, etc.
The Cincinnati History Museum sounds boring; history classes were boring, right? But it is far from it. Just inside the door is a huge replica of Cincinnati, complete with moving trains and inclines, flashing lights and a circling airplane. The children visiting at the same time that we were there, ran from display to display squealing happily about the things they were finding. Farther down the steps is a full size trolley car and a replica of a riverboat. You can enter both.
My kids and I have so many wonderful memories of experiences at the museums. We had a family membership which allowed us to have cheap family outings every couple of weeks. They learned a lot on those visits and it just cost us an annual fee. Well worth the investment.
Aside from the museums, the architecture of the building is spectacular. A must see and experience for anyone who appreciates architectural beauty.

Absolutely stunning museum. Best museum in the entire world. So much to see and do and everything was executed so incredibly well. The Cincinnati miniature cities was the most incredible museum exhibit I have ever seen. The detail. The size. The way it transitioned from daytime to nighttime. Whoever made this should make it for every city. Spent almost 4 hours here. Cannot say enough good things about this museum. Bravo!
My family always has the best time at the Cincinnati Museum Center! There is something for all ages! The children's area is beyond amazing and has become a requirement any time we are in Cincinnati! The Lego exhibit this year was fantastic! My kid and my husband both love Lego and it was great to see them share their passion for them as they went through the visit. The scavenger hunt that accompanied it was a great bonus for my ADHD kid who needed something to keep his mind busy while going through the exhibit to be less disruptive to others! We can't wait to come back and see what the next exhibit will be!
I didn’t even realize until after we had come and left, what this place is. I didn’t know it wasn’t a working train station anymore, but a huge museum complex. We didn’t have much time so we just parked to check out the architecture and interior. Just that ALONE was worth it. It is so stunning. We will definitely come back for the museums, but definitely stop by for the beauty of it!
Absolutely blown away by this place! The architecture itself is absolutely gorgeous. Just driving up to it you know you're going to be impressed. There is plenty of parking available ($6). You are greeted by a beautiful fountain at the entrance of the building, it's super relaxing and I suggest (weather permitting) to take a few moments to appreciate it. The main room is absolutely gorgeous, with tiled murals, high ceilings and a ton of windows letting in natural lights. I could go on and on about the building itself, let's just say it's stunning and a beautiful reminder of how gorgeous architecture was. The museum was FANTASTIC! The exhibits have been curated wonderfully, both entertaining for adults and children. I honestly have not been to a better visually pleasing museum. There are a lot of stairs, plenty of ramps and even elevators to get around. We were there for over 2 hours. I can't wait to go back!! Absolutely loved everything.
