The club only welcome for the locals instead of traveller.
Strongly not recommend. Racisms for sure.

I went on a Thursday night. It was such a good experience. Expect a queue at the door if you don’t prebook your tickets. Stirling kept us entertained at the door and made standing in the queue a lot more tolerable with his humour. Will definitely return.

Went on a Thursday night for Camden Rocks Thursday. It was fab. Booked our tickets so we got a queue skip. Definitely recommend as it was super busy. Bouncer on the door, Stirling, was fab. He definitely made our night.

Good party but don’t lose your belongings you’ll never see them again. Cloakroom lost my jacket and i haven’t heard from anyone about it, unable to get into contact anymore.

Not sure if they do food but I’ve spent many hours of dancing here, mainly in the downstairs area. They are queer-friendly (they do Queer Theory and other queer events) and have a great beer selection. DJs upstairs and downstairs on weekends and free before 11. Great eclectic crowd up for a good time.

Translation:
I went to Bamboo to go clubbing, and the security staff were extremely rude. The place was crowded, and I was waiting in line to enter when a Black security guard shouted at me loudly, “Miss, don’t stand here, move forward!” He even shoved me forcefully and yelled, “Are you deaf?” Later, as he passed by me, he intentionally bumped into me. As a 1.6-meter-tall Asian girl, being pushed being pushed around by a nearly two-meter-tall Black security guard was honestly a terrible experience.

In Glasgow for work. Never come across somewhere that doesn’t let you in on your own for “licensing reasons”. Absolute rubbish. Don’t go.

Lovely lively bar! Tuned into the live music upstairs while my other half enjoyed the gig in the basement. Got an oat milk white russian which was great for the price point of £5.

Head bouncer at Dundee and Glasgow is super duper. Makes our night out complete. Without him on a Thursday and Friday in Dundee we feel the difference, atmosphere is not the same!! Hypes us up before we go in! Only bouncer that actually cares about the wellbeing of the general public and know you can go to with any issue, the only bouncer in Dundee we trust. Firewater is lucky to have him!!

When it comes to nightlife in Glasgow, Firewater has carved out a unique niche for itself as a beloved institution, particularly on Thursday nights. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, eclectic music selection, and, most importantly, its unbeatable drink deals, Firewater draws a diverse crowd looking to unwind and enjoy a night out without breaking the bank. Among the many attractions of this storied venue, the £2.40 double vodka drink special on Thursdays stands out as a particularly enticing offer, making Firewater the go-to destination for students, young professionals, and anyone else in search of a good time.

Nestled in the heart of Glasgow’s city center on Sauchiehall Street, Firewater has been a staple of the local nightlife scene for over two decades. The club is known for its distinctive rock 'n' roll vibe, which sets it apart from other venues in the area. From the moment you step through the door, you’re greeted by an ambiance that combines gritty charm with a sense of rebellious energy. The decor features exposed brick walls, low lighting, and an eclectic mix of vintage posters and graffiti art, creating an environment that feels both edgy and inviting.

The music at Firewater is as diverse as its patrons. While the club is renowned for its rock and indie playlists, you’ll also hear everything from classic hits to contemporary anthems, with DJs seamlessly blending genres to keep the energy high and the dance floor packed. This musical variety ensures that there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a die-hard fan of indie rock or just someone looking to dance the night away to familiar tunes.

While Firewater is a popular destination every night of the week, there’s something particularly special about Thursdays. Known as "Thirsty Thursdays," this night has become legendary among regulars and newcomers alike. The main draw? An unbeatable £2.40 double vodka drink special that has become synonymous with the Firewater experience.

In an era where the cost of a night out can quickly add up, this drink deal is nothing short of a game-changer. For just £2.40, patrons can enjoy a double shot of vodka with their mixer of choice, making it one of the most affordable drink options in the city. This deal is especially appealing to students, who make up a significant portion of Firewater’s Thursday night crowd. For those on a budget, the opportunity to enjoy multiple drinks without spending a fortune is a major attraction.

But it’s not just the affordability of the drinks that makes Thursdays at Firewater so special. The low prices create a sense of camaraderie among the patrons, many of whom are there to enjoy a relaxed, fun-filled night out with friends. The atmosphere is lively yet unpretentious, with everyone from regulars to first-timers feeling welcome. The crowd is a mix of university students, young professionals, and music enthusiasts, all drawn together by their shared love of good music and affordable drinks.

On a typical Thursday night, the club is buzzing with energy from the moment the doors open until the early hours of the morning. The dance floor is consistently packed, with people letting loose and enjoying the music. The bar staff are friendly and efficient, ensuring that even during the busiest times, you’re never waiting too long for your next drink. The combination of great music, affordable drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere makes Firewater an irresistible destination for anyone looking to kick off the weekend early.

For many, Thursdays at Firewater have become a cherished weekly tradition. It’s a night where you can catch up with friends, make new ones, and enjoy a few drinks without worrying about the cost. The sense of community that has developed around these Thursday nights is a testament to Firewater’s enduring appeal. Even as trends in nightlife come and go, Firewater’s commitment to providing an enjoyable, affordable night out has kept it at the forefront of Glasgow’s club scene.

Club itself is ok but the bouncers are so rude and on power trips.
We went for the karaoke on Monday night, honestly was a fantastic way to spend my 21st birthday, we had a brilliant time! Staff are all lovely and the host was great, atmosphere was amazing for a Monday night, everyone's excited and chatty, and supportive when you go up. Anything and everything from Disney to metal songs were played. Best birthday so far! Definitely be back again.

Bouncers horrible. Did not accept any id presented to them or proof of identification. Simply bouncers on a power trip. Tried to show bank cards, online banking, online accounts and were not accepted. Horrible people who said they did not like my attitude after I had exhausted all options of identification while letting through individuals clearly underage and very intoxicated drinking in the queue with bottles stuffed in their trousers and jacket pockets. Poor show.

One of the worst clubs I've ever been to. Bouncer was not only rude but totally on a power trip. Even if you have valid identification they usually ask for two separate documents i.e provisional and passport. I swear I seen them having a bev on duty to so professionalism is down the toilet. Accepts fake id but not legit so I don't even know what the hell to do, better clubs not fivinutes away, average of 2 star for a reason

Fun little bar/club vibe for a Wednesday eve. Had to pay an entry fee of £5 each, asked the doorman if student discount was available and he said yes, £4. I offered to pay for the whole group (four of us) to speed things up for him (even though there was no queue behind us). I turned to ask my friends if they had student IDs on them, at which point he rudely said "it's only an extra pound". Felt awkward so just paid full price. That being said, the drinks were ridiculously cheap (£2.40 for a double and mixer!) so can't go wrong if you plan on spending a couple hours here. It would've been nice if the staff had mentioned the deals to us when ordering instead of it being a huge suprise, but overall decent night out for us.
I’m never been in before, purchased tickets online 2 weeks ago. There was nothing mentioned about you can’t entered alone, with no explanation. Such disgusting, hateful behaviour and discriminatory act.

I don’t know what was going on behind the bar but some kind of scam going on. My friend ordered two vodka lemonade and was charged for six (these were not trebles) we laughed it off but then when I went back up to the bar a few rounds later the same girl that charged him for 6 vodkas first time round tried to do the same to me. I piped up and questioned what was going on. The response to this? Being escorted out by a bouncer. You couldn’t make it up. Buyer beware

Cool joint, friendly staff and it's got it's own basement gig venue. Right across the road from the Garage so brill for pre-bigger-gig drinks.
Found South of Salem in here last Wednesday enjoying pizzas and venoms. Big soft spot for me for this place as Baroness played here many many years ago. Keep it up and don't change a thing!

Had a really mixed experience with the staff here. Some were friendly but some staff was incredibly rude for no reason.
One of the bouncers was really unfriendly and the staff at the cloakroom was just horrible too. The bar staff is lovely though.
The venue and music are good but due to the fact of how rude some of the people working here were, I don’t think I’d go again.

Really unhelpful if you’ve lost your ticket for the cloak room. The moustache man working there last night was not listening to me when I was describing it and shoved my head with his fingers when I was dipping to see if I could spot my jacket hanging up. It’s really put me off coming here again!

Lovely food this, all vegan too. I had the chip supper which was really nice, made with deep fried banana flower (try it, it's great and a great meat substitute). Chips were lovely and crisp and the peas were so tasty too. The chocolate torte with whiskey cream was devine too. I was stuffed after my lunch, I definitely recommend this one. Lots of creative tasty food options and a nice beer selection!

The savoy is a decent place to go, but they really need to work on the bar, quite system and more staff efficiency, especially when staff numbers are limited, as you can end up queuing at the bar for an hour or so, no kidding, if it improves then so will my rating, that's how it works, hope you find this helpful

Subclub used to be a good spot where you wouldn't be subject to scrutiny. The venue itself is lovely, but the staff are terrible (mainly the people working the door) One person in particular, a female bouncer feels the need to be on a power trip and knock back people who are clearly 100% sober. Three separate occasions, I as well as other pals have not been let in for being "too drunk" even after shelling out 15£ for tickets. If you even think about having anything before you go, consider yourself not getting in.

Charging £15 to get in this dump is honestly a joke. The decor is non existent, it looks like a cheap function suite someone would hire for a funeral of someone no one liked, music was reminiscent of a primary school disco and drinks are horribly over priced and watered down probably.
Dog friendly. Generous portions. Inclusive space. Appreciate the fact that they are not shy on acidity in dishes. Interesting take of 'fish' n chips with wakame added to banana blossom! You can taste a lot of thought and effort is put into the dish as there's no typical briny flavour in the banana blossom!

Location is superb as it's very close to Glasgow central station. Entrance is in an alley so might be hard to spot.

Low & no/ alcohol-free options available.

one of my favourite venues in glasgow! security were very kind when someone was being weird to me at a show :)
Yeah, I believe the club’s been rammed with 16 years. The most lamest club, I’ve ever seen. Bouncers always find a way to push you out of the club. On top of that, Scotland’s a lame law- if you find yourself drunk in clubs/pubs they’ve every right to kick you out. Like come on, tf?

Decent place for some tasty vegan food, Peirogi was nice, didnt feel 100% after the chips though, friendly service and great music genres playing in the background like rock, grunge, alternative etc.

Menu could be bigger, with maybe some cheaper options as only got 2 peirogis for £8, they were tasty thankfully

My friend was randomly accused of "pushing" a staff member, the bouncer just denied re-entry after my friend & I had come out for a smoke. As we tried to re-enter the bouncer just denied re-entry to my friend. He offered no explanation whatsoever & was discourteous. Looking at all the reviews this does look like the norm.

I wish this establishment hires professional security which might end up repairing the club's already damaged reputation.

From what I can see 90% of the reviews about this place is of the disgrace that is the bouncer who works here and I agree with them , he is 6.3ft wears glasses and needs to be sacked due to all the bad reviews about him he turned down me and my 3 friends who hadn’t had a drink all had valid id’s and well dressed .
He then says enjoy your night somewhere else and gives no reason why even though we’ve all been buff club twice and loved it , such a shame because it’s a brilliant place but the bouncer needs sacked end of

Good as a raver, not good as a promoter holding an event here, the whole night bombarded by staff about "where our punters were" but then turned most of the potential customers away at the door by saying "oh not many people have shown up" as there was a sold out event upstairs that was totally opposite to what we were doing. No contact from the owner on the day and no coordination, the venue didn't even post out our promotion for the show on their page. Unless they like you they won't show effort.

On the other hand

Fantastic venue for being a hardstyle raver but that's down to the promoters not the venue.

Second time going here. Will be the last time. My friends jacket was being held behind the cloakroom and told that “they didn’t have it” an expensive jacket too. Had to ask a member of bar staff to go check because the cloakroom staff couldn’t be bothered. Very rude too. Bouncer cornered me outside to chat to myself and I felt very intimidated and uncomfortable. Understand bouncers need to do their job but this particular bouncer abused that power and just made me want to leave straight away.

Shambles of a place.

Absolutely amazing venue, I'm here probably twice a month for darkside, infexious, 1994, black parade and anything else that takes my fancy. Bars are well stocked and reasonably priced, sound system is top tier, easy to get out of wherever you are for a breath of fresh air I'd you need it and all the security boys are simply amazing, especially Paul, one of the nicest guys I've met in a long time, if there ever are issues (which are really rare) they are tackled and dealt with quickly and professionally so as not to interrupt the evening, definitely feel safe parting here with these lads on the look out 😁
Typical of many places nowadays. This is an ancient cinema of former dubious reputation. Tonight there were, i understand three simultaneous concerts on different floors. There are no lifts to top floor, so as a disabled person, i had to climb several flights of stairs to be confronted by a rooftop venue mainly standing room only with few seats. Poor for the elderly or disabled, right up there with the other nightmare that is SWG3. This took me by surprise as on my only previous visit i was in the ground floor seated main old cinema where i thought someone like Sari Schorr and her excellent band would have merited playing. Entertainment should be able to be enjoyed in a modicum of comfort. Even 90 mins of football is served up in a seated stadium with great disabled facilities. Too many venues just thrust a take it or leave it situation on paying customers

we were so excited to go to a very popular glasgow club with our friends who are from here and we got turned down by the bouncer. He said “you guys are too drunk” without talking to any of us or seeing that any of us were ABSOLUTLEY not drunk enough. The bouncer was so rude when we tried to ask for an explanation. We would’ve spent great money here and had a great time but the bouncer denied us without a second glance. No line or anything. Don’t go here.

The bouncers on the door were lovely, just asked us to scan a QR code, Wasn’t pleased that I had to give my phone number and email address since I know now I’ll get umpteen marketing emails.

The lifts to go up to the club are shoddy and shook the entire time. I know it’s an old building, but that’s not an excuse. £10 for entry on a Sunday is obscene, every other nightclub charges between £5-7 on a Sunday night.

The entire place absolutely stinks, I was almost sick over the smell. The toilets and bar areas were equally vile, the bar was sticky and soaked with drink.

I asked for a gin and tonic, which was only £1.50 which was the only good thing about that place. The girl that served me used an already opened bottle of tonic that was sitting underneath a wall light, she was bitter the entire time and looked miserable and practically shoved the drink into my hand.

Was harassed the entire time at the bar by girls carrying shots that wouldn’t take no for an answer. Finally got my drink and the tonic was flat, which I’m not surprised about considering it was sitting under a light at the bar.

The drink was vile, and ended up leaving after being there for 15 minutes.

Definitely wouldn’t go back, avoid as if your lives depend on it.

Bouncers are unfriendly. Accused of being intoxicated, despite not actually consuming any alcohol prior to entering. Got separated from group, alone in a city I’ve never been to before. Eventually got in, this place needs to change security provider because the venue inside is very good but the security team look for any excuse to not permit entry and start an argument

Attended the NYE street party. Bouncers were lovley and such a nice venue but event seemed oversold and poorly managed. Could not move in the place constantly being shoved and hardly being able to breathe- nevermind find space to dance the whole night. Going into the lane at midnight was ridiculous, up the top of the lane you could not breathe however bottom of the lane was empty and no staff directing people to move down so no one was crushed. The one way system was a good idea to prevent crushes but unfortunately made it so hard to move around the venue. Understandably it was NYE so going to be super busy but it felt a bit ridiculous as the sheer mass of people ruined the night.

Travellers attention please.
Don’t get impressed by outside crowd.

Racist club ever found in United Kingdom,
Have a doubt on desperado’s quality and taste.Sound quality and lightening was below average. Don’t even categorise as a night club. Ripping on drinks .
The whole management, bouncers and especially some counter staffs have to visit nicer clubs and learn how they manage and behave it properly.
The attitude of the bar staff people thinking they hosting party of thousands while They doing for two hundred. Even the small floors is not full.
To be honest I never liked Lola’s, but after seeing the refurb and the social media/ promotions for the club, my friends and I decided to give it a try. I booked through the social media and pr manager Roisin, she was so lovely and sorted us out with a booth and booze! As soon as we arrived the place buzzing and great vibes all round- see yous next week x
I recently discovered St Judes after dark from their tiktok page, so my friends and I decided to give it a visit. The venue did not disappoint with great tunes, reasonable prices and overall good vibes! I loved the atmosphere and can say we will definitely be returning!
The advertisement on social media was so good that I had to go and it didn’t disappoint!! All staff were lovely, especially the manager Roisin, she helped me so much during my visit 😊 will definitely be returning
Love this place. Always a great night out. Staff are very friendly and helpful and prices are reasonable. Great place for a night out.
100% recommend heading here for a brilliant night out, top tunes and class staff!
The marketing for this was amazing made me so excited to go, and lived up to all expectations. Would 100% recommend going and I will definitely be returning!!

My son was here for a friend's birthday & was pretty the worse for wear..from the minute security found him they alerted the manager who not only called us to let us how poorly he was but stayed with my son until his dad got there to pick him up..the duty of care shown to my son was exceptional. Can't speak highly enough of both security & management! Thank you!

Self explanatory. The dj admitted to mixing tunes using the Spotify crossfade feature when I asked him what he was doing to the music. Also who put a lift as the only entrance to a basement club. Fill the whole thing in with concrete and rebar, preferably whilst the regular patrons are inside.

Terrible club, genuinely do not go here, they never have enough bar staff, the least amount of time I've stood at the bar waiting for a drink was 10 minutes, and one time I waited at the bar for 30 minutes

Such tasty food. I had the vegan katsu burger. The fries were fantastic, skin on, just as I like them, and the burger itself was wonderful.
Good atmosphere in the bar itself, mixed crowd, and mixed tunes. Will certainly be back again

This is probably what nightclubs should all be like and not just in gritty 90's TV shows, slightly shabby dark and grimiy. A good place to see a band and hang out with friends and drink and dance. Yea the toilets are grimy in keeping with that true dive bar feel and the bar should really accept card (or maybe even contactless, some of the future is worth having) but for loud bands (or quiet ones ) with a cult following this is a sweet spot.

Took my granddaughter to see a selection of bands. Organisation great, doorman very good with the predominantly young female audience, including getting chairs and water for those who were too hot or excited. Inside was pleasant. Obviously seen better days, and decor a little tired, but absolutely fine for what this. Staff inside attentive, including bar staff who kept drinks flowing. Overall very pleased venue.
