Nice atmosphere. Food is alright. There is a wide selection of items, including vegetarian and vegan.
Service is average. When the waitress is asked about allergies, she responds with "I don't know," and it took a bit of convincing to ask the kitchen. (If anyone is wondering, the vegan bitterballs apparently don't have soy in it). It also takes a bit of time to get the order taken and the cleanliness could be better.

Wonderful restaurant at the castle grounds. Fresh, local lunch with reasonable prices. Makes a great stop while touring the grounds.

A small group of us stopped by on the way back from Amsterdam. The place is beautiful, and the employees throughout the castle were very knowledgeable. We ate at the little restaurant which just recently opened. The food was pretty good, and our server was very polite.
It is the most beautiful castle I've ever seen in the Netherlands. Nice garden, deer... But the park and muddy paths in the park could be better.

A brilliant archutectural monument to ancestors, style, design and talent! We have visited the castle just around Christmas in a very rainy weather, even then the gardens look good, I can imagine how beautiful they are in spring/ summer and autumn. I will definitely return!

Nice place to visit. It's easy to reach from the city centre (buses 28 and 111), and the self-tour inside the castle is well sinalised and oriented by friendly employees. The castle was built in the 1300s, but was actively inherited and used all these centuries, so there are a lot of history and details inside. Very well kept. The gardens/park are very beautiful and I believe that in summer it's even nicer, as picnic is allowed. Good to go with all the family.
This was absolutely magical, I loved every minute of visiting. It would be a 10/10 no matter what - the castle and the interiors are simply breathtaking - but I just wanted to drop by and say CONGRATULATIONS to all the staff, everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and excited to share little curiosities and insights about the castle's history. A truly special experience, can't recommend it enough!
An absolute must see when visiting the central part of the Netherlands. It’s close to Amsterdam and Utrecht. Very large castle, so well maintained and preserved. Also very relaxing walks with lots of benches possible trough the parks and gardens around the castle. The inside of the castle is amazing, don’t forget to visit the gift shop there, and the restaurant is also very yummy (near the entry).

It was one of the most beautiful castles I have seen. It is very well kept and the guides are friendly, helpful and very informative. The fact that the family comes back yearly to keep up the traditions is great.

History is preserved very well. The gardens are well taken care of and it is so peaceful. We had a picnic in the garden.

The shop is also well worth a visit as is the restaurant.

Well worth a visit.
Every detail of this restaurant was on point. The friendliest staff, food expertly prepared and delicious. There were 84-86 of us, took over the whole place and we were so well looked after across the 6 courses of amazing food, it was like dinner with friends... who know how to cook really well.

A beautiful castle with big lush beautiful gardens and ponds. The moment you enter insider it makes you go to the same era. Beautiful bed rooms, hall ways, galleries, the living area and powder rooms still feel alive. The main hall, roof and walls and magnificent. If you have museum card this is covered. You can enter easily. It is in calm and conent place. The cafe is large but full. The gardens and good to go for a picnic. Highly recommended for visit. The walk space and gardens are large to wear comfortable shoes. Enjoyed the overall experience.
Unfortunately this is a place where they spent too much on the interior decoration and too little on the staff and food. The staff is friendly but doesn't pay enough attention. They brought ten dinners to a table with twelve people and didn't even notice. They didn't check in at any moment, brought multiple wrong orders, and didn't know much about the menu.

The food was barely OK for the price, but the portions were too small. And somehow the fries weren't hot when they came to the table. And all this when the place wasn't even 20% full.

I'd recommend going somewhere else if you can.

Not that great. The lady at the counter wasn't very responsive to our questions. When we asked what's a particular cake, she didn't even reply and just served us that thing. It was an overly sweet carrot cake..which we didnt enjoy that much.

But after a beautiful visit to the castle, its an okay place to catch a few bites. Also they were serving sandwiches which looked ghastly cold. (But then that's common here, so should be fine)

service with a long wait: they did not accept the order for a long time, they did not come up for a long time to bring the bill. The soup with bread was amazing, and the burgers were ordinary, there was little sauce and strange pieces of tomato.
Again a great diner at Mr. Black and The and the White Ox. I had the aubergine and my partner had the steak. Both were brilliant. Original flavours. The lady who served us suggest a great Bordeau white wine. As a dessert the lemon meringue and I had cheese. Mmmm really nice. The lady offered for free a dessert wine with fierce cheeses. Tasted fantastic. We sat on the terrace under the tree. Great place, can recommend it!
Sorry, it's a nice place, but the service and food can do much better. We had the Leerlingenmenu and experienced dry meet, the fries came after we finished and the water on the table was only renewed after asking multiple times. I must say the caramel desert was delicious!

Great service and good food. I only stopped short of giving 5 stars as I think there could be a little more atmosphere on the back terrace where we sat. But otherwise the staff as extremely attentive and the food was delicious.
Very disappointing. This used to be a great place that offered a nice atmosphere and reasonable prices. If you have come here before, be warned: the menu has changed and the prices have gone way up. The portioning is also baffling. I ordered the steak, and my nephew (2 years old) had the children’s steak. They were virtually identical in size, but his came with fries and a salad.

Positives: great service.

Negative: graaiflatie.

I recently had lunch in this small restaurant in the yard of the Castle De Haar and was impressed with my experience. The food was delicious and the service was very good. The atmosphere was lovely, with a beautiful view. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.
We waited at least 10 minutes before our order was taken. After that, we waited at least 40 minutes for sandwiches which were only containing cold chicken probably was cooked in advance.
They were offering gluten free but the bread was too hard, I couldnt cut with a knife or with my teeth.
Visited the place with my wife and we don’t know Dutch! MJ sat down with us and almost translated everything on the Menu, so patiently. The cocktails and desserts were incredible and the service from MJ was out of the world!
Stopped here because it was close by to where driving by, I have to say this will now be my first stop when visiting the Netherlands!!! The food is beyond amazing and the building is pure artwork. The staff is very warm and inviting. Could not be happier with this hidden gem.
Beautiful place and tasty food. They have a part of the menu which is shared and a part which has main size dishes. My favorite was the burrata with strawberries and avocado! The service was great. Will definitely come again to try the other dishes.
Went here for lunch, without checking the menu. Noticed they have no vegan options, so I ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl, sans tuna. The waiter asked me if I'd like something else instead of the tuna, so I replied with "something plant based". And he was happy to comply.

They so delivered with a tapioca based fake salmon!
Was here just for a quick bite after the tour in the Castle and before heading back home but the food was good, same as the service.

A nice place to have a drink or something to eat with friends or with your partner.

The place felt quiet and because of the huge windows there was a lot of light coming in, making it a warm and bright space.

Since Spring hadn't fully start when I was there, sitting outside was not an option, but during Spring or Summer days it has to be a amazing spot outside also.

Since we where kind of in a hurry, I ordered something quick, the food arrived pretty fast, tasted fresh, was really good.

Nice place, with good food, good service and normal prices.
Absolutely delicious (and beautiful looking) lunch, retro chic venue, creative cocktails. Worth the ride slightly out of the center.
Nice place for the group or couple. Dinner is simple but delicious. The liquid version of tiramisu is really a treat and very invented surprise. Will go again soon.
Me and my partner visited this lovely restaurant last weekend and we were pleasantly surprised by the look of this place. The interior and the vibe of this place is really well thought, the selection of beers is great and the portions of food are generous! The only comment I have is that, nothing is actually giving away that there is a restaurant inside, if it wouldn't be for a food blogger I follow, I wouldn't know this place exist. Doesn't come up as 'near me' (I live at Leidsche Reijn), also the building is called "the blend" and I couldn't see any signboard of the restaurant. Maybe worth looking into it!;-)
Generally a lovely visit and would definitely recommend to anyone!:)
Good spot for drinks and eats throughout the day. Food is good and menu items are - in a good way - different from many places.
Yesterday I had another great visit. This restaurant is located near the highway in an industrial park, which makes it an excellent place to meet with people. There is a lot of parking space is also has a nice environment, a lot of green as the pictures show. I only took picture of the outside because there are beautifull pictures on the inside on thier website. Yesterday I had sate for lunch and I have never had such a good lunch. It also is not too expensive. This is not a reastaurant you visit for a nice dinner with family I think, but a great place to meet with business people. I you look for a central place in the country to meet and eat, this the place to go.
Fantastic food! We were there for a wedding but surely normal dining will be as good (or even better!) great dishes from different countries, not a single thing to complain about..
