I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I entered the lobby, the ambiance exuded a perfect blend of sophistication and warmth. The check-in process was seamless, thanks to the efficient and friendly staff who welcomed me with genuine smiles. Their professionalism and attention to detail set a positive tone for my entire stay
Hotel quite old . It was tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and equipped with good amenities that contributed to a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere. The bed was particularly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring the vibrant city.

we love the location of the hotel
Highly recommend to stop by and visit.
Very nice experience. can tell that jolanda our guide for the day was very passionate about the history and uses of windmills in netherlands.

Tour was well paced and learnt alot within 1 hour at the place.
This is one of the best Marriott hotels we’ve stayed at with excellent service a wonderful buffet breakfast, which honestly was well worth every penny and very nice comfortable clean rooms. I would definitely recommend this place because of its proximity to wonderful restaurants and shopping as well as many of the museums in the area
The hotel is centrally located, close to great shopping, restaurants, and lots of museums! The hotel staff was friendly and quite accommodating. I left a shopping bag in the room and they delivered it to me at the airport via taxi. They were so helpful. ❤️

Nice Hotel with a very cool vibe. The service was lovely. The 2 level room takes getting used to (perhaps difficult for less mobile people). Otherwise really nice. The breakfast buffet is ok (22euros). Very busy at night due to multiple halls being rented out for events. However, you cant hear any of the noise in the room.
Hi everyone,
Stayed here for one night, so first the check in was fast and very helpful staff, they notice you when you are standing in line for a checkin and ask you if you need any assistance.
The rooms are nice and modern design, everything was clean. For dinner we went to Midtown Grill which is a nice and beautiful steakhouse, they explained all the variety of meats, and it was super nice atmosphere and delicious food.
Next day for breakfast was as well a lot of different variety of foods. It got a little busy but the staff was hardworking and helpful.
The check out later was fast, we felt appreciated and we left the hotel in a good mood.
Would recommend 10/10
This is a solid hotel choice if you’re visiting Amsterdam. It’s conveniently located to a lot of major attractions and activities. It’s also located right next to train stops that can quickly bring you to the airport when you’re leaving. Everything is in walking distance from here. The rooms are clean and the staff are very friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for four nights and had a lovely visit. The hotel has alot of character due to its long history but its also been modernised and looks beautiful inside. Staff were friendly and helpful during our stay too!

The location is great if you don't want to be right in the thick of Central Amsterdam. There's a lovely park right outside and travel via tram into Central is close by and only a short ride.

The only negatives we had were the booking isn't very clear that you have to pay a €50 deposit per night of your stay and a city tax on top of that. So just be aware of that when making a booking!

Our only other negative was the room we booked was a double bed but the bed was actually two singles pushed together and they would slide apart from each other.
Great location at tram and canal. Spacious clean rooms and really nice M Club.

What sets them apart though is the service. Olga, the concierge did a wonderful job helping us when we needed a dentist, and Jupe helped us figure out how to deal with some issues we had at a different Marriott.

We were so grateful for both of them.
Hotel is very nice with a lot to offer. The M Club lounge is huge and has free breakfast for members and food in the evening. The only negative about the room is that there is a vent in the bathroom that runs all day and night and is really loud. It keeps me awake at night. Also housekeeping does not change your sheets if you soil them. I have a photo of the bedsheets we had that got blood on them and I had to sleep in it the next night. Also it was very difficult to order food to go in the restaurant and bar area. They told me I had to go to my room to order room service and when I tried that, the menu on the tv would not open or work at all so I had to walk back down to the desk for a paper menu because there are none in the room to look at. Then I had to go back up to my room to order. I would rather have liked to order at the bar and got my food in a to go box/bag because the menus are different. I have never heard of a restaurant not offering take away before. The Midtown Grill connected to the hotel would not let me order to go either. It just became a hassle that I decided not to eat dinner. The location is great and close to museums and shopping.
One of the few remaining 18th century windmills. Worth the stop. Friendly and informative tour guide.

Excellent service from the staff. Had to move room because of ‘plumbing’ noises at night but very comfortable room and we were moved without issue. A little further from the centre than we would ideally have liked but getting trams around was no problem.

Stayed here recently when visiting Amsterdam for the first time, I don't think I'd want to stay anywhere else 😊

Location is great, there are two tram stops about 8/11 mins away so you can get to everywhere easily, which is great when you're a tourist. The park the hotel faces is also beautiful.

The building itself is stunning but eery, but don't let that put you off as nothing supernatural happened to us 🤣 beds were super comfy and really appreciated that each time our room was serviced they gave us free water and new coffee pods 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed this stay. Excellent Hotel in a Great location. Service in the Lounge was outstanding.
Unfortunately we had a problem with the window in our room. It would not close properly and because of the windy location it constantly cooled the room and made a loud whistling noise. Called front desk twice. went to the concierge twice over 4-6 hours. told someone from engineering would come up to fix it. No one ever showed. If finally got a chair to stand on to see what the problem was. Turns out the window seal had come loose and was preventing the wind from closing and latching. I fixed the seal as best I could and was able to close and latch the window. End of problem but certainly not what I would expect from a Top of the Line Marriott Hotel especially considering the high price we paid.
We loved our visit and learnt alot about windmills. The ladies who work at the windmill were super helpful and friendly. They gave my son a colouring sheet after the tour and directions for us to take the tram into Amsterdam central. There is a large playground with cafe nearby, perfect to spend time with kids while waiting for the next tour if you turn up without pre-booking. Highly recommended to visit!

I had a lovely stay here. I was visiting my daughter, who is at University, for the weekend and the location was perfect: quiet but still only a short stroll into the city centre.
The room was spotless and I was welcomed with a free drinks voucher as I'd been randomly selected as 'guest of the day' which I thought was a lovely touch.
I will definitely be using this hotel again.
Thoroughly enjoyable tour of a working windmill, if you want something a bit different and educational can recommend it.
I have just spent three of the most enjoyable days at the Waldorf Astoria, Amsterdam. While the hotel itself was impeccable, the room spacious, comfortable and spotless, it was the people who made our stay outstanding!

Every person representing the hotel did so with the most pleasant, helpful and welcoming approach . No request was too big or too little. Each person made you feel like you were the only guest in a private house.
This was well worth the €8 fee, it's a shame my wife couldn't do it as the elevator was broken today. Very friendly staff and informative tour and highly recommended. Found this better than visiting Amsterdam but then never liked cities living in the country. Ladies there were excellent speaking German and English as well as their own language and maybe more.
Incredibly beautiful property well-situated in old Amsterdam and along a canal. Staff is beyond attentive and professional. Checking in started the experience with water and house-made chocolates. Once checked in, they showed us around the property and gave us a little history around the original buildings. Our room was lovely and well appointed-modern yet elegant. We had breakfast and drinks at the hotel. Both highly recommend. My only reason for not giving five stars was the vastly different experience on Monday and Tuesdays. They close their bar on those two days so they cannot provide any drinks other than wine which I find at this price point for a hotel ridiculous. Also, while they were showing us the gardens they told us how beautiful they were to walk, but wouldn’t allow us to bring cocktails out there to sit and enjoy the weather. The only place to have a glass of wine was their main lobby on Monday and Tuesday yet they did not provide any live music or their afternoon tea experience as they did on the weekends. Frustrating they had the same price point for other days yet shorted our experience because we stayed early in the week. For this level of hotel I would expect a consistent daily experience!
Very high price, great overall but a little disappointing.
It was my first time staying at a Waldorf Astoria. Everything was top quality, everyone was super friendly, the bed, the room was world class.
However, I was expecting more offerings, for example complementary snacks and fruits, actually, maybe an executive lounge. Nothing to complain. Just thought to receive more with the price tag.
Absolutely a special experience! You will remember your stay, and plot your return.

It’s the little things! I feel like every micro-experience is designed to make you feel like the most important person in the world. The thing that stuck out the most was that every single person seemed to know my name and greeted me warmly, even though I had never seen them before

We stayed here for 2 nights. The location is lovely. Here are the pros and cons of this hotel...
PROS: beautiful hotel, calm location, the restaurant has a great atmosphere, the hotel is relatively central and not too crowded. The service was good and the staff helpful. Brekky was included and was okay with relative variety.
CONS: The bed was particularly uncomfortable with a mattress topper that wasn't attached and therefore moved during the night. I was left with a back ache. The blinds didn't fully close, which let the light in early in the morning from 4am. Overall I didn't think it was good value for money. Additionally I think information about extra taxes should be clearer from booking. It was clear there would be a charge, but not how much.

We stayed here for 2 nights in this lovely hotel. I really liked the feel and atmosphere of it. The woman who checked us in was very helpful. There are big lockers to store your luggage if you're early which was great, made it feel more secure instead of a random cupboard. Our room was really nice. It was a 'cosy room' on one level. No view but to be expected with the less expensive room type. It was beside one of the elevators so this could be heard during the night but didn't keep me awake unlike my husband who has difficulty getting to sleep anyway. The bar area was very nice next to the fire to celebrate with a drink for my birthday 😊
This hotel is so beautiful and well-located in Amsterdam. The signature scents and the turn-down service really make you feel pampered. The rooms are beautiful and the staff are incredibly caring. I think our favorite aspect is the spa and garden areas - which are so fancy and impeccably maintained (and there was no crowding even on a Saturday morning in August). If I had any feedback, it would be that we have a tough time getting through the epic breakfast tower and I wonder if there is a way to make it easier to customize/size the tower down. We were very happy on our second stay here. This is a lovely way to spend five days in Amsterdam and I hope we'll be back soon.
Wonderful tour! Very interesting and informative. The trip out from central Amsterdam was well worth it. The area around the windmill is picturesque as well. Very glad we took the time to visit.

This is an old women’s psychiatric hospital, restored beautifully and located on the edge of a park. We stayed for two nights (a week apart) and both times got a “loft” room which has a tiny sitting area and bathroom on the main and a very good king sized bed upstairs. The stairs are treacherous so if you have any mobility issues (or get up frequently in the night) specify a room on one level. The breakfast was buffet style and excellent with lovely tables on the terrace facing the park. The staff was friendly and welcoming, but the one evening we went down for a drink, service was very slow. It’s a bit of a hike to walk to the main downtown area, but they have bikes you can rent very cheaply. All in all, would stay there again.
Don’t forget to get a custom drink made for you at the bar. The gentlemen running it were masterful mixologists, extremely passionate about creating unique experiences for their guests. We sat down for one drink, ended up staying for several. This was a highlight of our trip. Thank you.
The hotel is beautiful. The attention of the staff is very good. It should be 5 stars but we saw a rat walking while we were in the breakfast room and I am a rat phobe person and the hotel solved the situation with a little cake at the room to say sorry, I think is serious . Also the air conditioner of the room was not cooling properly . The rest was good!
Great experience overall. Was made to feel very welcome the second we stepped on the threshold of the property. Everyone was very friendly and informative, from the concierges to the waitresses.

The service was also exceptional and the best part of the whole stay.
The Molen Van Sloten windmill tour was incredibly interesting. It was amazing to see the great Dutch engineering from the inside. They had multiple windmill models and one where our tour guide demonstrated how the breaks work to stop the sails. Then we were able to go out on the deck and watch a Miller use the breaks so we could walk around and see the sails up close. As you walk up the stairs to each level of the windmill don't miss the representations of Rembrandt's artworks and a short film of windmill history. We had a great time. Plus, on our weekday visit there were no crowds.
Learnt a lot about how windmills work to drain the water keeping the Netherlands safe from the sea (it's actually very clever considering the ideas were 400 years ago). I highly recommend this for an eye-opener experience!
