We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It was very lovely, friendly staff, easy to get to, and very nice accommodations. The pool is on the top floor in the tower, which was a little weird since our rooms were in the other part of the hotel and we needed to go through the lobby to get to the pool elevator, but there were robes in our room so that was an added bonus to cover up to/from the pool.
The hotel is very nice, the staff is really friendly. A big plus is the starbucks next to the lobby.
The furniture of the room was a bit dated but everything was clean.
The location is good, you can walk to a lot of places from here. There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance. The next bigger supermarket is a 15 minute walk away. I would recommend the hotel and I would come back.

Unfortunately this hotel is quite dated and is in need of an update. The rooms and washrooms are dated. The tub drain was plugged and the AC could not cool the room enough. I would not stay here again. I will try some of the other Marriott properties as I am a member and hopefully find a decent one to stay at in Calgary.

I hosted a corporate event at The Pioneer and was beyond impressed! From start the finish the staff were excellent, had incredible attention to detail, and took the stress of executing a large event off my plate. Highly recommend !!
Could not have found a better place to get married! Shae and Sarah the wonderful ladies who assist with events here are one of the main reasons we had to book our wedding here. They are friendly, kind, understanding and all around great people to have on your side. During such a stressful and financially taxing event they were so easy to work with; it was truly a "treat you like family" experience. They were able to work within our budget and still make it a memorable/exciting event. They were able to accommodate our guests who had some food restrictions with no issue and took it seriously. Very flexible with our set up and take down time frame. One of the owners Sunny is amazing as well; he hired a team of truly amazing people. He was available for our special day and took care of us all night.
The food was to die for; everyone who attended our wedding raves about it! The drink menu is quite impressive compared to some venues and the bartenders will happily make you any drink you wish. They have a bridal suite semi attached to the venue; i did not make use of this room but for any brides who need that space it is quite lovely to get ready in and be close by for your special moment!
If you're looking for a venue that at first glance may seem smaller or not your typical wedding venue; i highly recommend The Baron. They far exceeded my expectations and were an absolute pleasure to work with.

I cannot say enough good things about this space and the team at The Baron. From the moment I reached out and even after our event Shae, Sarah and her team have been so highly organized, friendly, and supportive.
I hosted our company awards gala at this space in February and was so happy with how everything turned out! The staff had everything organized ahead of time and were so easy to work with. We encountered some sound issues during our presentation which the staff helped out tremendously with. The food and drinks were lovely and our attendees loved how much parking was available!

We had our wedding ceremony at the Garret and a cocktail-style wedding reception at the Pioneer in February 2024 and everything was perfect. Great communication and support leading up to our big day and execution on the day of was flawless.
Both venues have such great vibes on their own that we really didn't need to do much from a decor perspective, and opted to just enhance the buildings' incredible features with lighting, florals and candles - though the possibilities are truly endless. We received feedback from our guests (many from out of town) that the location was great as it was easily accessible and it was fun to be right in the action on Stephen Avenue.
The service from the SugarWater team on the bar was excellent - though we had a crowd of big drinkers there was never a line at the bar and our guests loved not only the craft cocktails but the really thoughtful selection of wines and local beers and seltzers.

The Baron was amazing to work with for our October wedding! The space checked off all the boxes for the mood of our wedding. The food was so delicious and had a great variety to choose from. The staff was always responsive and provided top-tier service. Highly recommend if you are looking for an intimate gathering for a great price!
Absolutely loved DJing here. Warm, intimate, inviting. There’s a special kind of energy down there in fish creek. And the hardwood floor is great for dancing!

This place is great, so convenient when flying out. I had a 6am international flight, and staying here was the best decision we made. We checked in at 4am, and still had a wait, so staying here, where I litterly walked out of my room to the elevator that opened right up to the airport, gave me a bit more sleep.
Celebrating 35th wedding anniversary, had a late flight into Calgary and decided to stay the night at the airport Marriott. I called ahead and asked if there was anything special that could be done to surprise my wife and asked if I could arrange to have a rose in the room. They were unable to do that, but said they would provide a dessert tray.
Upon entering the room, we saw the room with (synthetic) rose petals decorating the room, the bed, the furniture, and a dessert plate with Happy Anniversary written on it. They went above and beyond the call of duty - fantastic job. Thanks for making the evening a night to remember.

We had an event for 70 people in mid-August at The Pioneer, and it was awesome. The team working there are super, and the event space is fantastic. They have a great bar (run by Sugarwater), a great selection of furniture, an awesome speaker system, some great lighting, and different floor levels, including an outdoor terrace in the summer. The original brickwork from 100 years ago is fantastic. It’s a great place and the team are super helpful.
I've stayed here several times when I have had to leave on a flight from YYC early the next morning and it never disappoints. The location is unbeatable: it's basically right next to check-in for the most common major airlines, you don't even have to step outside. The view from the rooms overlooking the airport gates/runways never gets old! The breakfast in the lounge was excellent on my most recent stay as well. ☺
First time staying at Marriott Hotel Airport. Very warm welcome by MOLLY. Not only she just welcomed but upgraded our room for good view without being requesting.Incredible Marriott. Excellent customer service and happy employees. This also had one of the best value Elite status I’ve ever had; I’ll be returning just because of that.
Convenient spot if you have an early flight. But the AC in our room was exceptionally loud. Probably only slept for about an hour in total. Very disappointing. Nice that they have room service but you're combining airport and hotel food, so you can imagine the quality isn't that great. Would rate higher if I could've slept.
This is the best airport hotel I have ever stayed at and it is INSIDE the terminal. If you are flying to/from the US, it is just around the corner from arrivals and departures. The staff is outstanding, the room are incredibly clean, and the airport views are really cool. The lounge food and staff are also incredible. We will always stay at this location on our first and last night when we visit Alberta.
Stayed here for 3 nights before and after a trip to Banff. The hotel worked perfectly after a long day of flying - very convenient to get to once you collect your bags in the airport.

The restaurant/bar in the hotel was also exceptional - which was honestly a bit of a shock for an airport hotel. The steak sandwich was so good that I ordered it 4 times in 3 days (yes, 4 times!) and we canceled dinner plans in Calgary to eat at the hotel. The Yakima Date Pudding from the grab and go market they have was also incredibly delicious. We sampled our way through the entire drink menu too, and each of the drinks were really good - shout-out to the bartenders who were all incredible!

Had one night stay here in late May. Super clean, updated. Very quiet for being at airport. Had king room facing airport - great and interesting view! Lots to watch. Very good workout / fitness facility, with a view as well.
It was an absolute pleasure to provide technology for a private event for XERO here! Plenty of available circuits with good ampage, accommodating staff (particularly Wyatt), and reasonably good loading dock access (given it's downrown). Would be happy to work here again; thanks, folks! :)
This venue was perfect for our wedding ceremony last summer. It looked so beautiful and allowed me to create the exact vision I had in mind. The location was fun and vibrant and made for great photos both inside and outside on Stephen Ave. The staff were flexible and accommodating.
I wish I had gone with my original plan of having a DJ on site to run the ceremony music rather than utilizing the in-house music system. The system crashed halfway through my ceremony so a few important moments were without music which was quite disappointing (as any bride knows..the playlist is very well thought out for every little moment!). That would be my only complaint of an otherwise perfect ceremony!

Our son’s wedding was at the Waterfront Park Apr. 29th, it was absolutely amazing. The location is breathtaking even in early Spring, just imagine how stunning it will be in the summer…. Also included with the rental of the location is full set up and take down. The flowers were absolutely amazing. The staff from start to finish were so amazing, very responsive, very accommodating, and showed that they really care and want the best for their customers. I only added a picture of the brides bouquet as all of our other pictures have our guests in them, so sadly am not able to add any of the pictures to show how beautiful everything was set up for our son and now wife’s wedding day. The whole time there was magical. Everyone that attended was so impressed. Thank you
Invited here for a live music event that turned out to be much more than we all thought it would be. We thought we were going to see four musicians play their sets, but instead for a musicians sat facing each other told a series of stories and then rift off each other for the entire evening in a delightful and experiential entertainment event. It's a beautiful space and I look forward to my next visit and Calgary to see what they might be hosting then.

The Baron is an INCREDIBLE wedding venue that we used in August for our special day. I loved that the staff provided so many options for our day and allowed us to do a tasting of food before making a final decision on the menu. They were accommodating of all our extra needs and so attentive during the day. Everyone invited had compliments about how fabulous the venue looked and the food. The staff also helped my family take down decorations after the reception, which we were so grateful for. I would highly recommend this venue for ANY event!
A beautiful flat area that all ages can walk around in. There are plenty of beautiful places to take Fall Colour Photos.
It is completely free to come and enjoy and the parking is not far away.

Great location and beautiful surroundings! Loved this location for the Candlelight series. This is a beautiful and intimate space for such an amazing experience. Very clos to Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant to have a bite before or after.

On June 11 Epilepsy Association of Calgary hosted 130 guests, performers, artists and event volunteers and at its inaugural Purple Day by Night fundraising gala at The Pioneer. This was such a special night and the venue itself added to the magic of a bustling late spring evening on Stephen Avenue. Guests and event volunteers were pleased with all aspects of the event and we've booked the venue for 2023. Thank you Heather Coke and team for your patience and helpful guidance in making our night a success!
I visited the place during the Playa Patron event. The space was limited and they could have more tables available. That would have allowed everyone to eat at a table and not carry plates around when you have a drink and a purse with you. The music was great, but considering most guests were 30-40+ could have been adjusted a bit!
Venue Al-Azhar Shriners was nice for our daughters wedding. Staff and service were great. The only issue was the steps from the main building that leads to actual waterfront need some serious repair. Out daughters veil kept getting caught in the very rough and unkept steps causing some tense moments for the bride to be!
Clean and flexible multi use venue! Good lighting and easy access for guests and vendors to get to. Definitely recommend!

We used The Baron as our wedding venue in April of this year, and cannot recommend them enough! The customer service during the wedding planning process, as well as on wedding day, was excellent. The whole team was prompt in responding to emails and phone calls, answering questions, and making accommodations for us as needed. We had to postpone our wedding twice over the course of 2 years due to Covid, and the venue staff did their best to work with us on moving things around. As a pregnant bride, the venue staff made accommodations for me as needed which were much appreciated. Everything was set up to our standards and photographed beautifully.
Professional and friendly service! Organized my pre-wedding dinner here, and everything went so well. Their foods tasted amazing, the venue looked cozy & beautiful, and the staff, especially Angie, were cheerful, helpful and flexible. I received good feedback from my guests! I would highly recommend this place to those who are looking for a wedding venue.
I cannot recommend Waterfront Parks enough. Peter and Jade went well above and beyond, helping us plan a short notice wedding (we booked less than three months prior to the date in an effort to minimize covid related changes), navigating trying times, and providing unparalleled service. Jade is even pictures in our wedding photos adjusting my dress prior to walking down the isle, and Peter met us on the limo bus to help "hide" me from the guests prior to the service. They were like family throughout the process and I honestly don't think we would have pulled off the wedding of our dreams without them. The venue is stunning, location is ideal, the food was delicious (and catered to all sorts of weird dietary issues), and the decor was spot on. If you're thinking about booking waterfront parks with simply elegant, stop thinking and book it. You won't regret it!
We happened upon this place on Stephen Ave on a walk about. The Fillet Minion Alberta Steak, wonderful patio on the boardwalk. When it got to cool - we were invited in- Romantic areas, and Sports Dining - plus a bar. The smoked Brisket was also outstanding. Our wine selection was understandably sparse post Covid and Stampede. The waitress found a very good wine and gave us free desert. Picture sugar cinnamon donut balls filled with vanilla cream and chocolate cream filling - very unique and outstanding. Well Done. I highly recommend
This place is possibly one of the most romantic, beautiful and serene venue in Calgary. When you're in there you can help but feel overwhelmingly calm and combine with perfect setting and decor it made every occasion unforgettable.

Nothing can beat festive and nature, and I understand sometimes its hard to pulled a five stars experience outdoor, but not here!

Meadow amuse was nothing short of amazing for our Vow Renewal with 50 people. Cathy made the whole thing totally stress free and was extremely responsive to any of my questions and even on the day of. The food from Great Events was fabulous and so many of our guests complimented it. The serving staff were fantastic and very happy to be there. Thank you for a beautiful venue, beautiful food and world class service!
What an amazing venue and team! We had our wedding here and everything was perfect. We had so many compliments on the food. The staff was so helpful. I would very much put them at the top of my list when planning any type of event in the future.

One of the biggest reasons that we booked this venue is that it was the open-air, but covered option for an August wedding in case of good/poor weather. Fortunately, we lucked out and had great weather but unfortunately were told by the venue staff on-site that they were unable to open the sides of the tent in 24 degree weather because they would be unable to close them later... which didn't make any sense. We were not told this in advance and a big selling feature was the retractable sides of the tent. So we had to run the loud fans throughout the reception, which was not ideal.
There were some standard items included in the rental that we didn't need and requested in advance to be put away that were still on-site. By the time arrived after our ceremony, it was too late to do anything about these items. That's ok, I think I only notices this.
The venue also started tearing down earlier than we had expected and ended up throwing away the bridal bouquet.
We were running a little behind the day-of and Great Events still had our food very warm, not dry, and so delicious! Definitely be sure to take advantage of Great Events awesome rental inventory to put your own touches on this space.

Cathy was amazing to work with for our wedding at Meadow Muse - very responsive and accommodating. She made planning the venue and catering a breeze. The food was five star and all of our guests were blown away by every course (even the carnivores amongst the bunch praised the salad)! The portions were generous and the presentation was amazing. The staff and service was top notch, very friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

Great place for big gatherings - formal & informal. Lots of seatings for formal presentation. Layout is more like cinematic, very limited space for socializing
This last weekend I attended the metropolitan centre for a wedding, when I arrived I was impressed with the look of the place and thought it was a great place for a wedding until I interacted with the staff. The wedding was supposed to end at 01:00 am but around 10:30 to 11:00 pm staff began to clean up and it felt like the staff were pushing us out of the venue. Most of the people were on the dance floor having a good time, I had left a half full drink on the table and also a 3/4 full box of candy provided by the bride and groom from the candy table as a wedding favour. I left the dance floor to find my table completely cleaned off... and when I spoke to staff about it they informed me everyone had left so they had thrown away everything, except all our jackets were on the chairs surrounding the table. I then saw a staff member walk over to the candy table and stick their hands into a candy jar stealing some candy as they walked into the back room. Another member of the wedding spoke to the staff and they brought out a random half full box of candy from the back room almost an hour after they had “thrown out” all the candy. Near the end of the night around 00:30 am I observed a staff member attempt to sneak out of the venue with a box of candy tucked under his arm... when he saw me look at him he turned around and walked back into the back room. This made me believe that the staff were stealing the candy for themselves. I was very very disappointed with staff during the entire night
Amazing place to have conferences, workshops and trainings. Was there for two weeks doing our Mobile Klinik training for mobile repairs technician . Mobile Klinik is coming to Calgary. It's a great place that is in the Central Business District of Downtown Calgary.
I had the pleasure of djing multiple weddings there and always had fun. The staff is amazing and easy to work with. Thanks for hiring Barbu Entertainment!

2 months before our wedding date, our previous venue went south, leaving us scrambling to find another venue. The Met took us in right away, relieving tons of additional stress and we couldn't be happier (turned out to be a million times better than the initial venue we chose). They were able to bring in the Chinese Cultural Restaurant to cater a traditional 10 course Chinese meal (which was absolutely delicious!).
We would highly recommend this venue for any type of wedding! Special thanks to the marketing managers Howard and Sabrina, operations manager Jason and catering manager Jon and the rest of the Met staff for all of their help. Absolutely made our day extra memorable.

Best Wedding Venue Ever! We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with The Baron for our wedding reception. The staff were incredibly accommodating and kind. The food was fantastic and we got comments from quite a few of our guests on how much they enjoyed it. If your looking for Calgary venues and wondering about this one, let me save you the trouble, just book in here. You won't regret it.
I've attended a wedding here and my overall impressions of the place are around a 7.5. The reception hall is pretty good but you can definitely find a better venue for the ceremony.
We recently held a 4-day workshop at the Metropolitan Conference Centre which by all accounts was a great event. The booking staff were helpful and courteous describing the different options for us, the set-up and AV staff were knowledgeable and informed, and the catering staff were on-time and flexible with our last minute changes.

Special mention should go out to Jason. He is without question the best host and representative that the Metropolitan Conference Centre has to offer. He has been there for at least 15+ years, and it shows.
