We used The Opal for Grand Forks Central's Prom and it was great. It was a beautiful night where there was no wind or rain and the patio was perfect for our students to grab some fresh air, cool down, and talk before going back out on the dance floor. The bartenders also did a great job of working with our students making Shirley Temples, serving pop, and offering water for refreshments.

I worked with Shelby Schultz and she was great to work with as well. She was very organized and responded in a timely manner. She did a great job communicating and helping us put this our event together.

Loved our second trip here with our school's robotics team! It's a fabulous venue and easy to navigate. Parking is excellent. This was a well designed dome! Our school plans to continue attending the region competition here in spite of the long drive. It's worth it.

Great setup for FIRST Robotics. Not great for concessions pricing, but that's how it's always been at larger facilities. Staff were friendly and would say hi to the kids as we walked by or bought stuff

Had my robotics competition here (Team WARPSPEED in case you know us) and it's really nice got a spacious auditorium a really good food court and just all around a nice place. Would recommend.

Best hockey arena I've been to.

Visited for a Journey concert. The bathroom lines never took long.
Now for all the bad.
Parking is $15.
Doors don't open until 1 hour before the show's scheduled start. People standing outside in winter weather waiting to get in. Then, the show started 1/2 an hour late.
I was seated in section 207 seat DD 22, even with the the front of the stage. The single video screen on our side of the arena wasn't viewable.
The acoustics were horrible. Could be due to the corrugated steel used to decorate the walls of this metal barn.
I'll never attend a concert at the Alerus Center again. Awful venue.

Lots of space for Jurassic Quest. Overall the entrance to Jurassic quest was fun but on the first day a few rides and areas did not seem ready. Kids had fun but we felt like the staffing needed more help for the event. So it was....

We visited post college graduation but it would be so cool to watch games here. It's nicer than some NHL arenas.

Easily accessible with parking lot right behind

This place is awesome! It's a wonderful place to catch a game. The food and beverage options are plentful. I also caught a tour of the place and you see behind the scenes stuff of UND hockey. These folks do a nice job.

Wonderful. Packed house for UND hockey. We win. Everyone very excited to be there. Arena very well kept. It was first visit for two of my grandchildren. They were just thrilled. Great times.

One of those rare arenas where there is not a bad seat in the house. I make it back very rarely these days after several years as a hockey season ticket holder, and if there’s a way to swing a visit when I am in town, I always do so.

This is the most beautiful sports venue I’ve ever been to, great place to watch hockey.

Come here fairly frequently for meetings, always clean they have comfortable chairs and typically a pretty good meal this time it was just a cold meal

The Ralph never fails to entertain! I've been there several times and still haven't found a bad seat in the house. We usually just get the cheap seats up in the 'nose bleeds' but even they offer a great view. The staff is great. They are very professional and well trained. Bathrooms are clean and every where. Tons of food options with prices on point for what they should be.

Beautiful venue with so much of we needed included! Sadie was wonderful and the coordinator, Carrie, was absolutely fantastic! I will come back to use The Opal for our next event!

This place is always the best place to go on a Friday night. Most of the tickets are under $30 and their food options are amazing. They also have beer and after game busses to popular bars around town.

We just had our wedding there last night and it was so amazing. No issues, all the staff were awesome. Trista was great throughout everything. Best place to get married in by far.

We just had the pleasure of working with Sadie to facilitate the wedding reception for our son and new daughter-in-law. Sadie was professional, fun, creative (she also did all the wedding floral) flexible, listened and simply overall was a delight to work with. Her venue is gorgeous, comfortable, had all the details needed to provide your guests an enjoyable celebration. Weather allowed us to celebrate inside and out in the deck. AND the food, bar & service staff provided by SKY’S was outstanding.
Everyone had a fabulous time and we couldn’t be more pleased with our choice in using this venue & team!

Our experience with the opal was absolutely wonderful. Sadie and her team were great to work with from the start, and the day of were so helpful! We got so many compliments on how gorgeous the space was and how perfect it was for our wedding but it's so grateful the community has an event space like this!

We rented the Gorecki Center for a memorial service and were very happy with our experience. The staff was very attentive, detail oriented, and met all our needs. We used campus catering who also did an excellent job. I highly recommend the Gorecki Alumni Center if you are needing a venue. Having a great venue on campus made our event that much more special.

The alumni center is a beautiful building with lots of variable spaces to make any events work. The interior of the building needs very little decoration as it is elegant and modern. We had a social hour in the Kratt Grand lobby and our reception in the Gransberg room. We had around 114 guests, and it worked perfectly for that number. We had our ceremony at the Hopper Danley chapel which is a package option with the alumni center. The chapel is within a short walk from the alumni center so it was convenient for our guests. The alumni center DOES have dressing rooms. I am not sure why that isn't checked on the amenity list. The alumni center has a short list of approved vendors that you have to choose from if you have your event there. We were still able to find vendors we were happy with, but if you have your heart set on a specific caterer it might not work with this venue. The building has a lot of available parking. We had an issue since our wedding on was welcome weekend and students were using the parking lot for moving into the dorms. The alumni staff contacted campus parking and started to clear the parking lot ahead of our guests arrival. Overall despite a few issues I would recommend the alumni center as a wedding venue. All of our guests have commented on how nice of a venue it was. The staff was communicative and organized, and as a bride that is extremely important.

Voting was very easy organized and fast. Parking was close . Middle of afternoon. Ha graduation went well with parking and seating. Busy for the football game.
