Delicious fresh food. Good flavor, friendly attentive server, good-sized portions, nice atmosphere, tables, chairs, and paintings. Decent prices for good value for what you get.

Option for Chinese and Vietnamese food.

Tried their Hot & Sour Soup, Chow Mein, and Combo 1.

I really enjoyed combo 1 for a classic Chinese food meal.

The hot & sour soup wasn’t what I was used to. It just tasted like lemon soup.

Bathroom wasn’t super clean but the food and service was good so I’ll be back 🙂

We ordered delivery service and we have normally been super happy with our orders and meals. This one must have been a bit of a miss. The spring rolls were soggy, the sweet and sour pork was soggy and small, with very few pineapple and peppers. The Pad Thai was on the burnt side.

Usually very good, but this time, not so much.

Probably the best deluxe wonton soup in the city. Huge bowl and full of meat, veggies and wontons. Lin and Min are terrific owners. Everything else I tried on the menu was great!!

Great restaurant. Really loved the Beef Vermicelli dish. Fresh cucumber and lettuce mixed with vermicelli noodles. Delicious sautéed beef. Would totally recommend this dish to anyone. The Hot and Sour Soup had a great mix of ingredients- pork, mushrooms and bamboo shoots to name a few. We also ordered the Chicken and Cashew dish and enjoyed it. It was a busy friday evening and the restaurant was almost full. Great service. Staff were friendly and attentive. If you like Thai and Vietnamese cuisine - would recommend trying this restaurant out.

Definitely recommend the breaded shrimp. The dry bread veal and the chicken balls. I usually don't eat chicken balls, but they're chicken balls are good with actual big pieces of chicken. Been there a few times and I think it's our new favorite restaurant for Vietnamese.
Pho is always great! Shrimp skewer wasn’t cooked but the food is normally great. Was very busy Boxing Day!

Viva was my favourite Vietnamese restaurant for several years. I always order the vermicelli bun with pork # 24. November 12, 2023 the dish was awful. The sauce was taken from the dregs at the bottom of their huge container of dipping sauce and there was no taste to it. I kept having to ask for a different sauces to make it taste better. No luck. I could not eat it. When I was paying I shared that it tasted bad and they could not care less. No apology. I won’t be returning. Very disappointed that they continued to charge full price for a poor quality meal.

Tried takeout here for the first time this evening. Had the Deluxe Wonton Soup, Guy Lan with Pork and Spring rolls. Flavors were spot on, everything tasted very fresh. Pleasant person on phone taking our order. A definite gem of a place, we will be back!!

Very nice looking restaurant. The food was great! Loved the house special pho. It was delicious and the broth is very tasty - not too salty. We ordered tempura, vermicelli noodles and the honey walnut prawns - did not disappoint! Very delicious as well. Just a little hiccup on their serveuse- she looks irritated and snotty. Nevertheless I will still go back here to try other items on the menu.
For almost 20 years, Pho No. 1 has been our go-to for consistently delightful Vietnamese cuisine. The menu never fails to impress, with each dish showcasing the culinary expertise honed over the years.

What makes Pho No. 1 truly special is the welcoming atmosphere created by the hardworking and kind owners. Their warm hospitality turns every visit into a comforting experience, akin to dining at a family friend's home--the owners' genuine care and effort make each visit memorable, fostering a sense of community that keeps us coming back.

For delicious and delightful dining experience, Pho No. 1 remains our unwavering go to!

I mean I have been here in person before and I like the food so I thought why not order off skip. I placed an order for deluxe pho, deluxe fried rice and sizzling chicken.my order was for 5 PM and my order took a whole hour just to get a big bowl of nothing. till now I’m so confused and mesmerized at the fact that I ordered deluxe pho and I was literally sent just the broth don’t know how that can happen. I am never coming back here again definitely second time and last time ever. I couldn’t even get the refund back for the pho from Skip The Dishes. now I have to deal with the hassle of going through my bank just to get $17 back. I am definitely going to be spreading this word-of-mouth around and make sure everyone that I know I know someone that knows someone doesn’t come here.what a big disappointment to hope for dinner and realized you should have just made dinner. Spent a solid $74 on garbage.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and both the food and service were excellent! We went for lunch and were served quickly. The food was delicious, hot, and affordable. Exactly what we ordered.

It's always great. I tried 93 for the first time, along with my salad rolls, and it was awesome. I found a new favorite along with my number 50.
Incredible Pho. Excellent clear broth packed with flavour. I tried the Satay Beef Pho which had a spicy kick to it but not overpowering, just the right level of spice.
Also had the wontons to start and a Vietnamese coffee, both amazing.
Excellent atmosphere and helpful service topped off an amazing lunch.
I highly recommend Pho Hoi An!

Pho and spring rolls for me at lunch. So satisfying to have pho during winter. This restaurant is a family favorite!
Pork chop with broken rice was awesome. But the bun with grilled pork and chicken was terrible. The children was hard to chew the pork was all grizzle and not good. The spring rolls were basic but crispy. Just okay. However will return and order pork chop again! Will review again then.

One of the best tasting Bun Bo Hue in winnipeg! Will be coming here again!! we are not close to this part of the city but if we visit family in this part of the city ill be ordering take out for home! Thank you for the delicious soup and i also got side fruit for free! This is very comforting to eat on a cold day. Also my sister that normally doesn’t eat noodle soups really enjoyed this!

I was disappointed to say the least. It took about a minute to receive my pho after I ordered it. It was not hot, but room temperature. The rare steak was more like rare cold cuts that were just thrown on top. 4 pieces that were stuck together like they just came out of a package. You would think that they would have taken a little time to make sure the food was ready for the customer. I won't be back.

Food was very good. Restaurant is clean and bright. Unfortunately, the service was exceptionally poor. We had to ask for chopsticks because they were not provided automatically-these were given to all of the other customers, though. When we requested water refills, this was not brought until we had finished our meal and were getting up to leave.

The taste of the food was okay, but the service was a bit poor. An old man brought the food to us. He looked very serious and fierce. There was also a lady who brought the food to us. She also looked very impatient. So I probably won't come to this restaurant again, the look of them makes me feel like I'm not welcome.
The pho is incredible. I loved every bite. There’s a lot of room and tables to site and you sit yourself so it’s quick!

The waitress is still working on her English. She is doing very well but some people might have a few issues understanding. I told her we didn’t get the spring rolls we ordered because they were cooked in peanut oil. But she tried to make them for us for free! 😂 so just be patient.

I’ll definitely be back for more pho soon!

I am usually not a fan of pho, but this one is an exception. Their pho actually tastes pretty good. The restaurant has a nice ambience, though I would recommend they clean their salt and pepper shakers because the ones I saw were rather dusty. Other than that, I do think their pho is good and worth returning for. I've returned at least twice a week the last month.

Also, definitely better than the Osborne location.

Absolutely delicious. I enjoy eating vermicelli bowls and this place might be one of my favourites. They do not skimp out on meat and spring rolls are larger than most places I've been to. Pork marinated very well. Will come definitely come back to this place.
i got the rice dish with chicken, and my boyfriend got the beef pho & spring rolls. this was quite literally one of, if not, THE best chicken i have ever eaten. beautifully marinated, cooked perfectly, and so moist. my boyfriend loved his pho & the flavour of the broth was amazing.

Pho No 1 Restaurant has solidified itself as the gem amongst the various dining options in the city. The tranquil ambience replete with a fusion of Asian aesthetics makes for the perfect setting. From the first time you enter the restaurant, you feel like you have travelled a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The menu is a collection of authentic Vietnamese flavors that are both distinctive and mouth-watering. The signature dish, "Pho", is undeniably the best in town. The broth is perfectly balanced with the freshest ingredients, and the noodles are cooked to perfection. The chunky slices of different meats add a burst of flavors in the mouth as you relish this dish.

The service here is exceptional. The staff members are polite, friendly and efficient.

The overall dining experience at Pho No 1 is worth every penny, and it is not surprising that it has gained a loyal fan following. No wonder this is the go-to restaurant for every foodie in the area. If you want to tickle your taste buds with authentic Vietnamese cuisine, Pho No 1 is the restaurant to visit. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal and unforgettable dining experience.

If you are looking for a hearty, filling, fresh meal, this is where you want to go! The food is delicious and the portions are generous. The meal includes a platter of fresh fruit at the end, which is a bonus. Great little place. The entrance area and the cleanliness can be improved but overall it was a great experience and even a better meal.

I recently dined at the Vietnamese restaurant. While I found the pho soup to be decent, perhaps a 6 out of 10, the fresh rolls were unfortunately too salty and had an overpowering black pepper taste, making them inedible for me. Additionally, I noticed some issues with the atmosphere, including constant flies and the need for a thorough deep cleaning inside and outside the restaurant.

It's important to give businesses a chance to improve, Running a restaurant can be challenging, and I believe in second chances. Hopefully, this restaurant can address these concerns and provide an even better experience in the future. 😊🍲🍽️

Actually, house special pho is good taste, but I think if there is less suger in it, there would be better. One of my friend ordered coffee was a fresh taste and special style which we never have. Coffee Di da di da dropped into the glass, interesting. Another friend enjoyed the pork which covered the rice. After this dinner, she talked a lot about the pork on our way home. I know it is good, but is that good enough to let her cant drop her mind? B/c I donot eat pork, hope someone shares experience with it.

Do love all the food, but I saw some reviews on google said the staff has a poker face. Literally, I met her today, I have to say, she has, but she worked well and effectively. I am not a social guy when I am getting into a restaurant. So I am good with her service, no complains. Indeed, there is a bit smile from her when I cheked out, yes, we had a small talk. She has enough patience with me. Then, I know her poker face is not to against customers, it is just herself. No worried, guys, take easy with this lady staff. I am sure you will enjoy the food here, never mind with the extra things.

Btw, I dont think drive to downtown is a good choice.

I would come back here sooner.

Reviewing for Caramelized Lemongrass Chicken only:

The taste is good 👍
But I felt like I ordered lemongrass onion and chicken as side dish only LOL 😂😂😂. The serving for the chicken is too small, 1.5 tablespoon and the rest are rice and too much onion.

Not worth it. 👎 I don't recommend this meal.

The first thing I noticed were the portion sizes of the food on everyone’s table was huge. When I got my pho, I was surprised by how these portions of meat were incredibly generous, and the flavors were authentically delicious. All of this goodness comes at a very reasonable price.

The gentleman working there was really nice, quick, and the food came out quick as well. Only positive things to say. Location is a little weird, I had to park across the street and there was a homeless guy being loud, but that’s no fault of this restaurant. I’d love to come back and try more stuff on the menu!
Mid-week dinner with friends. Quiet atmosphere, great for talking. Our food was fabulous, staff was very attentive but never rushed us. Price was reasonable. If you like authentic Vietnamese and Chinese this place is a definite must try.
Very good pho ngl. didn’t expect it to be good tbh, because it was the only one open. I guess I was very wrong. Had a very calm atmosphere, portions were very big with good quality to match. The menu was not too small, or too big. First time eating here, definitely coming back with a couple friends

The first and last time I will order from here. For the small amount of food, the price is over inflated 17 bucks! Paid extra for hotsauce total eas just under 20 dollars.

I asked why they have such small portions and the young guy said that's the containers we have, as you can see in the picture the bottom is mostly beansprout with very little helping of noodle or beef. #notworthit you can get quality and better serving size anywwhere else.
A wonderful dining experience in every way. Our server was so kind, knew the menu like the back of their hand, and delivered our food with care. The food was absolutely delicious and came very quickly. The price was spot on for the quality and quantity you get. Overall, a great experience. Will be back again soon!

This place is amazing for pho and anything else on the menu really.

Portions are massive compared to a lot of places I’ve tried prior.

Amazing service, they’re very quick with lots of staff and even with the restaurant full they don’t neglect tables.

At around 15$ per bowl it’s really worth the price.

Restaurant is clean and besides the urinal
being out of service I had no complaints.

Would 100% eat here again.
We absolutely love this place and were more than willing to see what it was like under new ownership. We’re avid #33 eaters, now #46, but we were a little disappointed with some of the changes. The sauce isn’t as flavourful, and the meat appears to be cooked different(not as much flavour either), it’s close to the original but not quite. We would be more than happy to try again if some changes could please be made to bring it back to the original.
The establishment is very pleasant to be in, the portions are large and delicious, but the prices are slightly above average. We tried durian fresh drink, it's a very interesting experience, add lychee jelly, I recommend it! The staff is not friendly, I lower my rating for this, it is literally a silent food delivery and calculation
We usually have the pho, i order Yaki Udon through skip, I requested chilli oil on the side also requested it to be really spicy. Called the restaurant to remind them, and the guy over the phone seemed like he understood.I got the food and it was the most bland thing I ever tasted, they basically boiled the noodle, sautéed with veggie and sent it my way. Zero spice, no flavour, no salt, nothinggggggg. 😩👀. Forget the flavour, at least add the chilli oil or the hot sauce as I requested 😡😤. They want to charge you an arm and a leg these days for nothing but a veggie and a noodle that’s sautéed

Pho Que Huong does NOT disappoint. I tried pho, bun thit nuong, com tam, goi cuon, they're all delicious. Bun bo hue is something other restaurants usually fail at but they nailed it for me. The space is clean and tidy. Wait time can be a little long at peak hours.
One of my favourite Vietnamese spots! Unique dishes with out of this world flavours. I love the Bún Hến - Baby clam vermicelli and their Mì Quảng - Quang style noodles. Good portions and consistently fresh herbs and veggies :)

As a visitor from Toronto, I was blown away by my visit to Pho No 1. Unfortunately, we were only visiting for a few days, otherwise we would have come back to try more. The restaurant was busy and the staff was friendly. Everyone from our group highly enjoyed their meal. I tried the Rare Beef Pho and I have to admit that it’s probably the best I’ve had lately. I’m looking forward to a return visit to Winnipeg, which will definitely include a visit or 2 to Pho No 1!

Used to go here all the time before the pandemic. Went again today but was surprised to find out that they are take out only. Food was still great and our order was ready earlier than they said it would be.
We happened to be trying out of the restaurant on their first business day!

Zhao is a really good owner.
It's a family-owned business which is visible from their service.

We have a lot of dietary restrictions at the moment, and they took care of everything.

Yes, it is more expensive than the other pho restaurants; but you get what you pay for and you have to try out the food!

They bought the place; it's new owners so try not to consider previous reviews.

It's so good.

Will be back.

Thanks!

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed my hu tieu dac biet. And hubby enjoyed his Pho tai bo vien. They mixed up the rice noodles with my husband's Pho, but no biggie. I thought the portions were very good for 13.99. Good amount of noodle to broth ratio and their meat/seafood was nicely prepared. The broth was hearty with less MSG/bouillon. There was a steady stream of Vietnamese visitors (I'm also Vietnamese) so they're doing something right.

We have been coming to this place since it has opened! Friendly service, family owned, with service and great food!
We ordered a couple of banh mi’s, viet coffee is a must, vermicelli bowl which my daughter made vegetarian and they were happy to make for her, curry Chicken fried rice is always amazing, fried chicken and sizzling beef and mushrooms. All was Amazing as always! Fast friendly service and pricing is all worth it. For a family of 4 is about 60-70 on all that we had ordered which was a lot!

Best Banh Hoi (Wrap & Roll) the city! I also love their Bun Mang Vit and Bun Mam. Overall their dishes are good.
Love this place! They can definitely use better systems for ordering and seating but the food is excellent! Traditional pho without MSG (or so they tell me, the lady at the front didn’t know, but the cook said no) good size and priced right:)

The place is busy for lunch, looks like everything is fresh and they are friendly. I’d return for sure! Hopefully they can figure out how to organize the chaos by then. Thank you again!

Easily one of the best restaurants for Vietnamese food in Winnipeg, if not the best. Service was amazing, people working were very nice and patient, and don’t get me started on the food. Leaves you so full every time, with plenty to take home for tomorrow’s lunch. We ordered the charbroiled pork spring rolls, rare beef pho, and the charbroiled pork vermicelli with the spring rolls. Spent less than $50 for 2 people, absolutely will come here more often for nights where we eat out or on special occasions.
I tried their Pho and it was incredibly good! My friends enjoyed their orders as well. I don’t mind returning here. I would definitely try other dishes next time which I find fascinating to try.

One of my favorite go-to Vietnamese restaurants I’ve frequented for years! Always fresh, authentic taste, great variety of different items on the menu to try and great service/staff!! Some of my favorites include: beef salad rolls, deep fried spring rolls, char boiled pork sub, mi kho (#39), deluxe vermicelli and fried chicken fried rice (go-to item to order)!
Chow mein came with no sauce. They made it seem like it was my fault for asking for asking for chow mein instead of rice. Everywhere I've been where I have ordered chow mein, it always came with sauce. Poor customer service.

One of my absolute favourite Pho places in the city!! I was looking for vegetarian food and this place has a whole page of vegetarian options, and all the ones I’ve tried have been amazing. I’ve been here multiple times and always get the hot Vietnamese-style coffee also.

The most recent time I came, I forgot to ask the waiter to leave out the bean sprouts... I came by the kitchen and told her, and she said they already made my meal but they were able to re-make it without any problems. Thank you so much for your understanding and such great service!!

I got the vegetable tom yum soup and the vegetarian spring rolls and it was all super tasty, and the tofu was fried really nicely without being too oily but also not too soft/mushy. Wonderful!
Best pho I’ve had in the city. Very generous with the meat and the broth is amazing. Chilli oil is great too. The owner could smile once in a while but i don’t come for the service

Edit: their broth seems much less flavourful than when I first began coming here.. I find myself adding more seasoning. But I’ll continue to come back as I love their meat cuts in their #28.

Very impressed at the delicious flavours and how well cooked everything is from this place. One of the best Vietnamese places I've ate at in the world.

Food is the best ; good service and big portions . More importantly so clean and hygienic ; their plating skills are wonder As well . You have to wait long during rush hours , brunch time and at weekend, for sure but if you can do with that , it’s really worth it .
My family's go-to to celebrate something :) best spring roll, deluxe fried rice and fried chicken in the city! I've had a lot fried rice in wpg and Phuong Nam got the best. It has a smokey taste we all really liked. Service was quick and helpful. Thank you always!
Ordered the shrimp with vegetables 10/10..Ordered the rice vermicelli Singapore noodle 3/10 rating ...ordered the chicken veg with cashews on top 5/10

I'll find the actual dish numbers in a sec I would only wish to pay for 10/10 experiences but that's not realistic realistic is know WHATS GOOD TO ORDER

If I could give it zero I would. They have the poorest customer service and the boss won’t man/woman up and speak to us to address the issues with our food. We got a dinner special with chowmein and the noodles had absolutely no sauce. We asked why there isn’t any and their only response was to come back and grab the sauce?! No compensation no owning up to what they did wrong just that. They have done it at least 3 times. Don’t waste your money here!!
It was very good. Service was quick and they were very attentive to my kids dietary needs. They are vegan so a vegan soup was provided. I got the shrimp and pork soup was a little disappointed there was only one shrimp in the entire bowl. Other dishes were the rice rolls and veggie chow mein. A little more expensive than other places. Miss the fruit at the end from pho kim houng.

Decided to try this place for the first time. It's the first Vietnamese restaurant in the city, which opened in 1986. Ordered the Bun Bo Hue and the shrimp & pork salad rolls. Food is ok and more expensive than a lot of other Vietnamese restaurants in the city. The regular size Bun Bo Hue was $11, we asked for the large size and when we went to pay the bill it costed $5 more to upsize the soup. It costs about $12 for an x-large at one of my favorite restaurants down the street. Their salad rolls cost $11 compared to $7.50 as well. Probably won't be coming back due to prices and overall taste. Staff however is very friendly.

Good food, tasty and fresh ingredients, they have been out of my favourite menu items the last few visits, but the server is very nice. They have very few staff so it takes a while to make and service for your order, the staff does their best and is eager to please. :) Nice place for a family meal.

Overall experience- Below average. Food tasted blunt. Portion is decent though. For the quality of food price is high. There are other similar restaurants in Mcphillips who serves better food at a decent price. Customer service is average. Not returning here.

I love their fried rice, pho, seafood noodle soup. I find that this place is truly authentic and it’s way way better than Viva or other Vietnamese restaurants on Sargent. Owners are friendly. The husband doesn’t smile but he’s just like that and we always had good conversations with him. Strongly recommend, you gotta to try and you will know the difference between other Vietnamese restaurants.

Love the fried rice here. Pho is good but not the greatest in the city. Fast service and food. Nice, quiet atmosphere. The honey dew drink (like a bubble tea without the bubbles) is so yummy.
