Very nice people came at 1 am with my friend great food and great customer service!!!
Lovely people and really good food.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rainier Restaurant and BBQ, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The service was truly outstanding – from the warm welcome at the door to the attentive staff throughout the meal.

Now, let's talk about the food – specifically, the honey walnut prawns. These little bites of heaven were a burst of flavor and texture that left my taste buds dancing. The perfect balance of sweetness from the honey and the crunch of the walnuts took the dish to another level.

The ambiance of the restaurant, combined with the top-notch service and mouthwatering honey walnut prawns, made my visit to Rainier Restaurant and BBQ a five-star experience. I'll undoubtedly be returning for more culinary delights and impeccable service. Highly recommended!

The food tasted good and the portions were big. We went there after visiting Space Needle and it felt therapeutic to have a bowl of hot noodle soup in cold weather.
TLDR: strong plate of food inside a dark plaza with friendly service

We ordered a pork rice plate to share and though the piece of pork was a bit thin, it was well cooked and flavorful. The broken rice helped absorb the flavors of the meat and the fish sauce. The small soup was great on a cold day as well.
As anticipated, the food is authentic and have been in business for many years. Sweet owners and plentiful in refillimg the hot water.

The parking lot is super sketchy but everything else is great.

Awesome food, feels legit. Love the flavors and in this cold weather a warm bowl of soup felt awesome. I wish the soup was hotter though to be able to cook the raw beef up a bit more.

There is street parking outside the restaurant. The place is easy to find and if you’re staying downtown it is at a walkable distance. The place is small but welcoming. The service is great, they are attentive and friendly. The pho was amazing, best pho I’ve on my Seattle stay. I would recommend coming here if you’re visiting Seattle. Overall 10/10 would come back.
This place in Seattle is a Vietnamese food paradise! The spicy beef noodle soup (Bun Bo Hue) and the pork BBQ with broken rice are absolute winners. The staff is super friendly, and the vibe is great. Whether you're into Vietnamese food or just want to try something new, this spot is top-notch. Highly recommend! 🌟

Large menu, entrance in back and front, good pho. Got a small #22 - lots of meat 🙌 they do not skimp on the meat! Was the perfect amount for me. Good array of veggies to pair with the pho. Small set up but comfortable atmosphere

Came up here to Seattle for the weekend. Found this pho place 3 minutes from my hotel..I ordered the King Special Pho and Pork and shrimp salad rolls. The salad rolls tasted pretty fresh and the sauce was good. The pho bowl came out piping hot.The pho broth was pretty good. I've had a lot of pho everywhere. I would rate it #3 in my book.. The meat and meatballs were good.. What I didn't like about this place would be the bowls. There was only one size pho bowl for all the pho and the bowls were small and the noodles were not enough. It was more like an appetizer bowl. For you to get full, you would probably have to order single or double extra noodles on the side. The atmosphere was great though, everyone was minding their own business and talked in a low tone voices.. There other dishes look pretty good if you would like to come try out..

Really solid Vietnamese restaurant. The staff is really nice, friendly, and professional. Have all the standard dishes you expect. Pho broth is tasty and has food flavour. Lemon grass chicken is good, but perhaps a little under spiced. They do not sell banh mi. Plenty of seating inside tables and booths. Definitely worth a visit or two.

Good food. Really nice service. Extensive menu that given a lot of options. I had the veal pho which was good. Great place to get some hot pho and the people there was really friendly and nice.
“Exotic dishes” are what they’re known for. Snails, grilled cat fish and beyond. All tasty! If you’re not sure what to order, just ask the servers and you won’t be disappointed. It’s a casual place but service is friendly and attentive.
Highly highly recommend!

Went to Hoang Lan Restaurant. This is the best place for Bun Bo Hue(Spicy Beef & Pork Noodle Soup). Very delicious and very spicy! Customer service is fast and friendly :). Highly recommended! Love love love it 😍
Showed up right as they were closing shop, and they still seated me, so if I could give 6 stars, I would.

Anyways the food was great. So many different flavors in the soup, sour, spicy, sweet, delicious! And lots of different textures with the proteins and veggies. An amazing bowl of bunbohue.

Don't order to-go or to get delivered from here. Attached is a picture they have on Door Dash of the Dodging beef. The other sad picture is what I received. You can tell which is which. Their quality has gone done. I've ordered from here before and it's sad seeing how their food quality has gotten.

we got veggie spring rolls, veggie pho, and lemongrass tofu vermicelli bowl (Bun Dau Hu Xao Xa Ot)- all very good and packed with bright, fresh veggies. the rolls were made to order, as in rice paper wrapper still warm. the pho broth was clear and more flavorful than some other veggie broths i've tried around town. and crunchy pickled carrots added a nice bite to the lemongrass tofu bowl. great spot for lunch or dinner.

Best pho in Seattle. I come here once a week, and it’s the best hangover cure. They have a huge menu and everything that I’ve ever had is always a hit. I also loveeee the fresh rolls — they have the fried wrapper in it so you get some nice texture and the peanut sauce is perfect. I also really like the banh xeo here. The service is also speedy and servers are very kind.

I almost don't want to tell people how good it is so I can keep this hidden treasure. The only place I've found a vietnamese crepe (bahn xeo) that is as good as being there!
Yes, tamarind tree is tasty but Thanh Vi is like going to grandma's house. We eat here at least weekly and I don't plan to slow down.

I was so dissatisfied with this store that I took my mother there for dinner tonight. After I finished my meal, I discovered a cockroach in the soup. Will not return since the store's hygiene is deplorable!! As a consumer, I hope the Health Bureau inspects the hygiene on the interior.

Food was very plain and the meat was very thin, so it might look big in the picture but the portion is tiny. The avocado smoothie was really refreshing tho.
The fried catfish and salad here was amazing, loved the food here as it wasn’t too salty or greasy. Service was stellar. The food came out real fast too. I’d come back, they have a lot of food on their menu you can’t get anywhere else.
This little Rainier Beach family run gem always pleases. The grilled pork in the Bun was impeccable. Pho always superb. Strawberry smoothie is a W. Eat here.
False advertising. Not open at anytime at night.

Uncomfortable ambience. Stared at repeatedly, being the only non-Vietnamese there. Beef stew was heavy-handed and one piece was chewier than leather.
This is a hidden gem in Seattle, highly recommended by locals. It's the go-to spot for satisfying late-night cravings as they stay open quite late.

Their Huge catfish is the standout dish, with a crispy exterior and moist, flavorful interior. The beef salad is another highlight, while the snails are decent.

It's worth noting that Rainier Restaurant is located in the basement, and wheelchair access is limited. Keep this in mind when planning your visit.

Service can be slow, especially around 8:30 pm. To avoid delays, it's best to call ahead and order the catfish, which takes approximately 30 minutes to prepare.

Rainier Restaurant provides an authentic Vietnamese dining experience, making it a must-visit spot for those seeking flavorful dishes in Seattle.

Came in on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was empty. We ordered Thanh Thao Rice Dish and Banh Canh Tom Cua (total $39). As a Viet who was born in Vietnam , I didn't like any of the two dishes. The shrimp was cooked long time ago and the noodles in our banh canh were hard. I would never come back again since there are lots of decent authentic Viet restaurants in the area.
Very authentic Vietnamese cuisine covering a broad range of options. The beef, pho, pancake & razor clams were really good. Convenient to park right outside.

Thanh Vi has the good stuff. But don’t go there if you’re in a hurry. They take their time to make stuff right. It’s going to be good, you just gotta be patient. And definitely get a boba tea for the end of your culinary journey because that’s how you do it properly. If you’re not going to do it properly, then maybe consider doing just the boba tea and skipping to the good part.

Nothing can truly beats your mom's cooking but authentic Vietnamese noodle soups are a lot of work.

Bun rieu is probably my favorite Vietnamese noodle soup dish & not many places make it well. Due to the amount of work it needs & ingredients this dish has. I am happy to say I finally found a spot that makes it well enough for me to order again.

Aside from the amazing service, will be coming back simply just for this dish and supporting this mom-and-pop shop that has been in Seattle since I was a little girl.
First: hole-in-the-wall alert 🚨

First impression was: hole in the wall.
Services are amazing: friendly & fast
Got the Banh mi Bo “beef” kho this is really good. And the steak and eggs 🥚 is pretty good. Would go back and get the soup Nam vang. Cash ONLY.
Some of the best Vietnamese food Ive ever had. I cant wait to come back and try some of the other dishes! Dont let the sketchyness outside dissuade you from trying this excellent restaurant.
reasonable price. Soup is flavorful but not too salty. Bring the the crab egg soup!

Important notes:
- most used entrance is in back with the big parking lot
- cash only, pay at counter when you’re done
- ask for menu if you need it

There are 2 entrances to the restaurant - the correct one is in the back with the big parking lot ha! If you go around the front you’ll usually find the door locked but if you keep trying to open it someone will come to your aid. If you hear a bird chirping you’re not crazy, there’s a robot bird in the corner. If you go when it’s busy you may have to wait but the staff does sense the urgency and they haven’t forgotten about you. Good customer service! If you don’t already know what you want you’ll have to ask for a menu. My guy got the Nam Vang rice noodle soup and I got the stewed beef rice noodle soup. So good! Don’t forget to squeeze lemon in the dip bowl with salt and chilis. Wonderful dip for the beef! We also got iced lemon juice which was incredibly refreshing. I’m a small person and the small stewed beef rice noodle soup was very filling! Next time I may just get the stewed beef with the baguette instead. The tv plays showing flea market scenes of Vietnam. Overall great experience! Kind and authentic vibe!

Also you may see an old woman selling produce as you exit the parking lot - if only we had more cash/smaller bills maybe we would’ve bought something from her 😭
I visited this establishment previously and it has undergone multiple ownership changes. Currently, it is under new management. I had a lunch meeting there yesterday and the crowd was minimal. The service was attentive and friendly, but the food was just average. The prices seem high for the location, but they do offer a spacious parking lot which is a plus. In conclusion, if you're looking for a quick bite, this place is an acceptable option.
This was an incredible meal!!! We had the razor clams, omelette, mixed grill bun, and pho! Way too much food, but we’re so happy to take it home. Our servers Emma and LY were wonderful, especially helping us order! The lemongrass sauce that came with the clams was fabulous, I’ve never had anything like it! Cam on!
You can enter from behind of the restaurant, park in the same lots with Safeway. We ordered 1 Nam Vang noodle with soup and another without soup (the dried one). The foods are delicious, however the bowls are not that big although we ordered large size, and there is no quail eggs for the Nam Vang.

They only accept Cash, no credit card.
The kitchen looks a little bit low hygiene, hope they can keep it more clean.

I would come back definitely, want to support local restaurant.

Ok
GOOD PHNOM PENH-STYLE NOODLES SOUP

The outside of the restaurant is not too appealing same goes for the neighboring businesses. Once you are inside, this restaurant is a bit more inviting, and it serves delicious Phnom Penh noodle soup. You can order one with egg noodles or another with regular pho noodles. Both taste good.

Vietnamese iced coffee is a little bitter and not sweet at all. I had to ask for more condensed milk. The server was nice enough to add more for me.

This business accepts cash only, so be sure to prepare for it. I did not see any signs posted at the entrance until I had a conversation with an older sister who mentioned it on the phone, so I started looking for the posted sign and asked the waiter. She calmly told me, “Yes, cash only but don't worry, eat first.” I ate a little, then ran to Safeway to get some cash. There’s an ATM inside the store.

Anyway, I want to share my experience. So, you know what to expect. Good people, good food!

Than Thao restaurant serves good Phnom Penh-style noodles, Vietnamese pho, Crepes, and Combination Rice dishes.

In the past, the restaurant was generous with the portion. So, I went back for the Phnom Penh-style noodle. I noticed this time, like most businesses, the price has gone up a bit, and they reduced the portion. Which is fine, but they switched from rice noodles too thick glass noodles. The noodle soup is still good, but the glass noodle is lumpy and the texture is chewy. And it's served in a broken bowl.

As for the special rice dish, my wife likes her. She enjoyed it and so did I. Just wish they serve the noodle using rice noodles, and one more thing is tea. We asked for hot tea, but the waiter said, “we don't have tea.” We weren't sure why but later found out that her tea maker broke down.

By the way, the Vietnamese iced coffee was good. The tap water is decent as supposed to hot tea.

Hoang Lan Vietnamese Restaurant
Othello station (Sounder)

Rice Noodles... Seafood, Shrimp, Squid, Fishcakes... Pho.. (Noodles)

Convenient Lunch spot within shouting distance of the Sounder station. Decent and quick.

Plenty of Siracha and chili sauce to make dish spicy. Comfort food a good match for the cold weather.
Super whole in the wall. My sisters and I wanted some food good and we came across this place through Yelp/google. We decided to try it. When we first arrived it was extremely difficult to find parking. It is super tight and crowded area. However, it was so worth it!! The food was amazing!!! I wish I took more photos of our food.

A great Vietnamese restaurant that offers more than the usual pho, rice, and vermicelli dishes. The cat fish dish seems to be the most popular item but it’s served who and that’s way too much food for the two of us so we opted to try a couple of their other items.

Razor clams were delicious! The sauce is super flavourful and balanced. The morning glory was cooked perfectly. Not oily and super tender.
It is one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the town. It has a spacious parking lot in the front. I came in with a couple of friends. We heard that their Com Tam Dac Biet is the best signature dish here, so we all got it. The dish was delicious, and it came with grilled pork rib, fried egg, veg, etc., and I attached photos below. The staff is super friendly and hospitable to all customers. I would love to come back in the future and try a different signature dish

Hoang Lan Restaurant has the best Vietnamese Bún bò Huế in town. The broth is made with real beef bones (marrow).

The staff and the food are excellent, especially the Bún bò Huế. It's unique, and you can taste it -- the soup is very flavorful! The best time to go is on a weekday. It can be a little hectic on the weekend; it gets crowded and limited seating, so you'll have to wait a while to be seated.

Hoang Lan is the place if you want a savory bowl of Bún bò Huế.

Been wanting to try Wicked Chopstix for awhile. Soup on point, full of fresh ingredients, noodle al dente. The large Special pho shareable for two. The mango shrimp salad was really fresh. And when we had a small issue, the manager made it right. Staff professional and attentive. If you're craving some pho or like to try one of the items off the extensive menu list, this is the spot.
Ordered food for pickup/takeout from here tonight and it was all delicious! I especially loved the shredded chicken salad! My photos are of the most feet menu. Yum!!!
This is THE place to get Vietnamese broken rice w/ grilled pork chop. Very popular among Vietnamese community. I also really their duck noodle soup.
I ordered a large vegetarian pho and the waitress (she could be the owner as well) was quick to understand and serve it fast. The place was clean and the audio was good. The waitress was very friendly. Here are things that were either concerns or could be better.

- The soup in the pho was not flavored unlike in most places. It felt more close to hot water than soup.
- There was very less variety of veggies added. I missed broccoli and mushroom.
- Although slightly out of control of the restaurant, the parking area looked shady. Some homeless person knocked on the restaurant window while I was dining and the lot was not as clean, much like many places in Chinatown part of Seattle.

Update: I got the left over as to-go and found bones in it today. I will never return to this place.
3.5 for the food and 5 for the service. My Ninh Hoa nem nuong wasn’t served with Ninh Hoa sauce but goi cuon sauce instead. Hu tieu broth lacks of flavor of dry squids and dry shrimp completely. However, they’re super friendly and attentive.
05/11/23: I had a chance to come back to this great restaurant. I tried the noodle soup with 🦆 and “Goi Cuon” again and both were delicious and tasteful. They never disappointed my taste and I have to come back on some days to try other things

It has been a long time since I came to this restaurant, but the food is still delicious. I often get noodles with duck 🦆 and it has been superb, tasteful, and colorful. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who like Vietnamese cuisine
The restaurant is located inside a complex building and is upstairs to the left of the building. There are many parking lots, but they are filled quickly. The food was excellent, and delicious at a reasonable price. The owner is friendly and pleasant. I highly recommend it to anyone

Food is authentic and tastes amazing. We got the banh bot loc, large pho dac biet, and a large bun bo hue. The bun bo hue does have beef broth base with some chili oil or Vietnamese sate. The pho had all the reminiscence of beef bones and good beef fats.

High recommend the banh bot loc appetizer!
07/22/23: If you want to try Vietnamese cuisine, this is your must-to-come place. The small cafe shop serves excellent food with a cozy and warm Vietnamese atmosphere. Customers often come through the back door located near the Subway side. If you come through the front door located in the MLK, please bang on the door to get the owner’s attention. I hope it helps
Parking lot is usually pretty full, but aside from that the food is fresh and good and reasonably priced. The place is kept clean and the service is pleasant.

Hole-in-the-wall offering delicious, authentic Vietnamese noodle soups. Friendly and efficient service. Highly recommend their beef stew soup (#4) and their #2, both with rice noodles. I finally went to this restaurant and very happy I did it. Their menu had some unique dishes. There were no photos on the menu, I looked at photos from google reviews to figure out what they may look like. Everything we had was good. I had the Shaken Beef, Grilled Beef Short Ribs, and the Fish Sauce Fried Wings. They were all great. There are also a good amount of Vietnamese condiments to spice up the meal even more. Prices are fair. I only wish the food was slightly less sweet, as sometimes it's a bit overpowering. Overall, I would recommend the Beef Short Ribs to anyone.

The food was great and really authentic.

The price was reasonable. Make sure you bring your cash.

I loved their menu with pictures. It is simple, straightforward and easy to understand.
One of the restaurants that open past 6pm on Sunday evening. Great menu selections. Service was fine. Food came pretty quick. There were two tv screens. One for sports and the other was music video. Food was decent and the place was clean. My duck noodle soup was a bit taste bland though. I will come again to try more dishes. Parking available. Good for small to large group.
Pretty good pho. They offer a wide variety of menus. I wanted eat a bamboo duck noodle soup but it was out. I had chicken pho instead. The broth was thicker and a bit a salty side compared to other places. I thought the toppings for the noodle were a bit skimpy as well. The dish tasted good. No vegetarian / no vegan dishes ( may be you can ask to modify ingredients for some of the dishes). Parking lot available.

Went back to eat different dishes.
We had duck noodle soup, spring rolls ( not cooked ones), pho. They were very accommodating with our needs. Food was very good. They were busy and we had a hard time to get their attention though.

More authentic than the Vietnamese food I had in Vietnam! Family and friends run this place. The spring rolls were made fresh to order and the fish sauce was on point. Open late.
I'm a vegetarian and there is nothing veg on the menu, but I took a chance on asking for vegetarian bun (rice vermicelli bowl) with tofu and they made me a beautiful one. See picture below. Very fast and kind service. Definitely a neighborhood crowd.

This place is soooo good. Everything we got there was amazing. I recommend the brisket beef pho; tastes exactly like what you want when you want a GREAT bowl of pho (didn't get a photo of it because I had eaten it already LOL). Also I'm not entirely confident I'm remembering the names correctly but we got the grilled chicken combo, catfish, duck salad, and honey walnut prawns (different from the traditional Chinese style but still delicious). Also got the Thai iced tea ! They have several drinks & smoothies on the menu and we saw some people come in only to buy some drinks :P Either way definitely worth it to try sometime. The people that served us were really nice.

Went with a Vietnamese friend who knew how and what to order, and ended up trying so much new amazing food that I would have never known to get! Unfortunately I didn't know half of what was ordered, but I really enjoyed the rare beef salad (Bo Thai Chanh). There was another rare beef dish where you wrap it with herbs, the beef wrapped in leaves, sizzling beef cubes, baby clams, and more; everything we tried was delicious. Happy to have deviated from the standard pho/noodle bowls.

I love the ambiance at this place. The food is very delicious especially the Obama Noodle and the Pho. The broth had a unique clear and crisp taste which i dont think anywhere else has. This will be my new to go restautsnt for Vietnamese food and Pho.
This restaurant is extraordinary fast in its service; the only problem is they got the order wrong, twice. LoL! I think it's the language barrier. The food is decent & worth coming back a 2nd time to try out other dishes on the menu. Note: if you want tripe (cow stomach) in your pho noodle, be sure to say "stripe" because that's how it's spelled in the menu & how thwy say it there. 😂
