Of all the beautiful parks in the Boston area, this is my favorite. The park is car-free except for park service vehicles, allowing for a peaceful visit. It contains a few paved roads and many dirt, gravel, and mulch foot paths/trails. I love the towering pines on the Conifer and Beech paths – great for running. A couple of spots in the park provide views of the city. May and October are my favorite months to visit.
Beautiful, luscious arboretum tucked away from the traffic and busy streets in Jamaica Plains. Lots of tree species and other plants, many folks running and walking dogs. Very peaceful and enjoyable! Free entrance for people on foot.
Beautiful, peaceful, part of the “Emerald Necklace”. Cute visitor center with knowledgeable staff. Stop by the bonsai garden, quick walk through. Roses were in bloom when I visited. There are a lot of member perks (example: seeing the corpse flower bloom) - might be worthwhile if living close by and frequenting/supporting the park.
It was a nice time spent on a Saturday afternoon. Went there around 6. Getting there was a hike for us. But, parking was easy, on street near the entrance. Took a trail around the park. Very nice and quiet to be amidst nature. Kids loved running around in the grass chasing bunnies and watching turtles swim in the pond.
A great place to just escape or spend time with someone. There’s so many different plants and flowers that it will have you feeling refreshed. There’s something for everyone here. Too often we got caught in the hustle and bustle of life, but the Arboretum is a great place to just slow down and rest or have deep conversations. Highly recommend!
Such a beautiful piece of nature tucked away near the city. Arnold Arboretum is a peaceful place to walk around and enjoy the outdoors. There are many different paths you can explore and various plants blooming at a given time. Highly recommend checking this park out!
One of my favorite places to walk around. It’s beautiful in every season and if you’re willing to wander, you can find some beautiful trails/paths with less people than the main paths. Parking isn’t the best but if you go during a weekday it’s usually easy to find a spot.
2/4/2024 - We wandered in here for a walk and to explore. We didn’t not expect it to be the Witch Hazel blooming month. It was cool to see a tree that blooms in the winter. Per the park visitor Center there is a tree here that blooms every month. So a nice opportunity to come visit

7/12/2024 - visited the Bonsai Tree Garden. It’s great. Strongly recommend. See below for pictures.
Beautiful even if under construction. We visited this october ‘23. A breather for the city. Homeless people are making it look bad, they don’t know how to throw trashes properly and just pollute and leave them. Limited roadside parking. $2 per hour maximum of 2 hrs

It was a lovely time. The weather was beautiful, there's a children's playground, swan rides, a carousel, and lots of small wildlife. Clean and family friendly.

Beautiful park! Lots of weeping willow trees to provide shade. Peaceful and relaxing if you want to have a picnic or read a book.

There is also a swan boat ride that you can take in the small lake.

A beautiful large garden.
There are Statues, flowers and more to see. Also the swan boats are there, but I was there early and they had not started running yet.

Very beautiful, easy access, historical park with seasonal blooms and calming water features. Ideal for an impromptu picnic or relaxing sit on a bench. Family friendly with plenty photo ops. A quick walk through just a portion of this magnificent park will definitely return for further exploration!
