Reviews

Place is poorly lit and noisy. Garbage dumpsters are always overflowing. Snow removal takes days as do all maintenance needs. Main office is always closed. There are often problems with the online site to pay rent. You will be fined for things you never did and will have to pay or face eviction.

I'm a little saddened that I have more negative than positive to say at this moment. The following is being said with a kind heart and no malice: I've lived at other local Kaplan properties and I'm perplexed by how the property manager runs Hidden Lake. I can confidently say this place has potential, but it is being squandered.
Hidden Lake is a beautiful complex. With a little imagination, you can clearly see that these apartments were absolute gems back in the mid-70s. Slate mansard roofs, Vermont slate entryways, gorgeous location with lakes and streams, generous-sized kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms, amazing oversized balconies, and enough closets to store all your belongings and more—some units even have fireplaces!
For starters, I agree with others who say you will be told anything to get you into a lease. I was told my unit would have new appliances, new(ish) gray cabinets in the kitchen, and that the HVAC and water heaters are replaced in the last 6-10 years. Upon moving in, I immediately saw that none of my kitchen appliances or HVAC were from this century. The cabinets are the original ones from the 70s (bonus: I found a lost silver spoon from someone's 1960s wedding silverware and a 1970s Bakelite cocktail fork hidden in the back of a cabinet while deep cleaning), and the kitchen tiles are all loose. There was a massive ceiling leak in the den, which they did a terrible job addressing—it still drips down my walls.
It seems that the building, in general, has problems with water. There are several ceiling water stains in the public stairwells, and the popcorn ceiling is peeling off from moisture. The ground-level floor floods into a large puddle from between the tiles any time we have rainfall.
I can confidently say that my unit was not professionally cleaned before it was passed to me. If it was, they need to request a refund from the cleaner. The kitchen cabinets were plastered with old food debris, and there were food scraps on the floors. I spent the first week scraping old brownie batter and layers of cooking grease off the cabinets. The second week was spent removing old tape residue (???) from *all over* the bedroom floor. I thought the white bathroom tiles in the shower were stained yellow/orange from age. To my horror, a little soap and water with a scrub brush removed whatever nastiness that was all over the bath area... Theres no way someone came through there and even gave it an honest wipe down.
It's been six months, and everything in the unit is broken. The AC unit cannot keep up with an 80-degree day. The water heater is lukewarm at best. My washing machine has been broken for over a month, and maintenance hasn't even responded to the request. They closed out the request after a month, and I had to reopen it—still no response. I'm still tripping over broken kitchen tiles, but I feel like I've got bigger fish to fry at the moment.
Hidden Lake should be ashamed that their cheaper sister properties in the area have better maintenance and overall care for the units. I cant say it any better than another recent reviewer: It seems all the time and effort is pumped into keeping the landscaping groomed while the inside of the units falls into disrepair.
To be clear - I'm not upset that my unit is not 'brand new and renovated'. If I wanted that, there are plenty of new construction apartment in the area within the same rent budget I could have chosen. I'm upset because I feel I was sold something I didn't receive, and am now battling for basic upkeep and maintenance.
As always, an apartment review from me comes with future edits. My big mouth will have more to say - positive and negative.

Overpriced 'luxury' apartments. I stayed there from 2021 - 2022; my rent was 1520, when I moved out, they immediately hiked my dismal apartment up to 1700+. Laughable, do NOT waste your money here.
Moved into a 'brand new renovation': sloppily thrown together, paint was bubbling up and peeling, garbage was left on my counter and in my trash. This was not remotely similar to the apartment they showed me (different floor and facing another side of the compound, with different internal layout).
In this “new renovation,”cabinets were crooked and holes and cracks everywhere. Dark apartment with low ceilings and no light fixtures in the bedroom and living room. All windows face trees so no natural light. In the winter, no insulation means that you're chasing the chill with your heat running.
Bathroom sink was simply was not there on move in, which the leasing agent was extremely blase about.
AC broke the second day I was there and I slept in the 85+ degree heat in July for a weekend. The maintenance person, Jose, was extremely helpful and sympathetic to this. When he couldn’t locate an extra window AC unit, he provided a fan from his own home. The management failed me again and again.
Insects, centipedes, spiders, and mice run rampant. They spend time grooming the outside and let the inside fall into disrepair. Would not recommend.

I have been at Hidden Lake nearly half a year and I never want to leave! The room was clean as a whistle when I moved in and the entire area itself is as clean as possible. The services and staff are great as are the facilities. I could not ask for anything more.

Avoid at all cost moving here. I been here for 10 years and it just gets worse and worse. The parking situation is horrendous. The lease states no commercial vehicles allowed on property including work vans and the place is infested by them. I have over a year writing formal complaints about the horrendous parking situation I am enduring. I rent a town home for a family of 4 as per lease. I have 1 vehicle yet no where to park because other tenants in a 4 person family home have up to 7 vehicles a home. I email the company everyday about how they are violating my lease and I have no where to park at times parking at another building or having to leave my vehicle double parked for hours waiting for someone to move. I have so much video of evidence of the lease violations going on and nothing gets done. I brought it up to head super who says talk to David property manger who is someone that apparently doesn’t exist. I contact the customer service department and all they say is we need a forma written complain and we will forward to legal well I have over a year doing that. I write a complaint every month and emails daily and the parking gets worse. Tenants have over 5 vehicles to a home and there are over 8 commercial work vans also taking up parking. This is ridiculous so with that said if you want to feel you live in NY then come to the ghetto manor as it’s referred to because here no one does their part in making sure lease aren’t violated unless it’s money cause that’s all they seem to care about instead of having good respectful tenants.

Run far far away from here. Judy is terrible, obnoxious and rude. Cars get broken into several in one night. Packages get stolen but they claim to have cameras and BRIGHT LIGHTS. Walls are paper thin and neighbors complain if you sneeze too hard. Maintenance men are sketchy. Some people have dogs but you tell others no dogs are allowed. Over run with ants, crickets, and other weird looking insects. Press the reset button and get a clue how to manage. Home ownership here we come

Maintenance is only responsive for the first month or so before you get locked into your contract, then good luck getting anything done. It will take months for anything to get fixed and you have to constantly call the office to remind them of the issue and get updates for someone to even come by and look at the issue. From the very first day I moved in, there were several fire hazards in my unit. Units are not move in ready, all appliances are old and broken, but they trick you into signing the lease sight unseen by showing you another unit and creating the illusion of “competition”. There’s at least one totally vacant unit in my building alone that’s just been sitting open and unoccupied since before I moved in months ago, probably awaiting refurbishment. Maybe some of the more expensive buildings/units are nice and those tenants get the help and service they want. I certainly don’t. Never had this many maintenance issues in any other property I’ve rented and I’ve only been here 3.5 months. It’s a shame cause the property itself is nice, but the lack of care and attention to the apartments ruins that.
Edit: Jose from maintenance is the only competent one around here that gets things done. If management reads these things, he deserves a raise.

Noely, was exceptionally and friendly person . She was always willing to help and get a solution. 👍🏽

I live in north brunswick manor for 13 years now, safe place, clean, beautiful appartements, and the complex is highly maintained, trees and grass everywhere.
the maintenance staff are professional and respond very quickly, very strategic situation, very close to many commercial centers, park for kids,
My kids and i love this place. Highly recommended.

The leasing agent Judi, is nasty and uncompromising and very rude. Nothing is ever easy dealing with her. After being a tenant for 12 years, my elderly father had to break his lease 4 months early, due to needing round the clock care. This process was anything but easy. She lies about the amount of notice that is to be given to terminate due to illness stating "it is law" ... it's not! They monitored where I was putting trash, FALSELY accusing me of dumping furniture that was not mine. The move out walk thru inspection was ridiculous, charging me for minor normal wear and tear of living in a space for 12 years. They do not perform yearly maintenance or preventive maintenance on the washer/dryer and AC units (provided with the apartments). The Maintenance supervisor walks around like he is anything more than what he is. When I first came to start emptying the apartment, I noticed someone had been in the apartment, unauthorized, broke the chain lock that I had in place. They barred up the slider which I used to access the apartment as it is closer to the parking lot. I was given a lame answer as to why they were even in the apartment. BEWARE!

I want to start by saying I felt like I was walking on egg shells dealing with north village I had a very unpleasant experience. in my experience staying there I had to sit and watch the favoritism that my neighbors were getting from Judy the rude unprofessional woman. I had an experience where the neighbor that lived on the second floor of 690 B village drive south will get into domestic physical altercations leading a guy name Corey to beat his girlfriend up in multiple occasions. on a late night at 2am in the morning Corey climbed up from my backyard onto the the deck to his 2nd floor apartment I feared there was a home invasion that was happening fearing for my daughters safety. this lead him breaking in to the apartment after him getting kicked out and getting into a scuffle and a vey loud argument with his spouse, This went on for first 2 years of me living there. I notified the office and Judy was well aware of the situation and did nothing about the matter. I have video & voice recordings of these incidents. lets keep in mind the deliberate stomping they would make to wake up my little Daughter through the odd hours of the night. fast forward 2022 now I unfortunately lost my mother in November and was going through a grieving process around January to march 2023 I had my family come over to show me emotional support I have a sister who's mentally disabled who made a sound this was around 3pm in the afternoon the neighbors complained about noise. leading me to getting a letter cease to desist. I could not watch sports on my tv at a low level I had the cops called on me because of it. and I never raised my tv loud to get a complaint. what happened when they ultimately violated the lease and had physical and verbal altercations. on the police reporting it had come out there was no disturbance coming from my apartment. this ultimately lead them not wanting to renew the lease and forcing me out onto the street its been going on 7 months and I've been homeless looking for a place. keep in mind the people that done physical harm to one another are still living in that unit. this is favoritism at its core rent was paid on time and never committed a crime to jeopardize my living. so my question now is why does north village play favoritism with the tenants. I will not recommend this place to anyone. you may just be doing the right thing and get kicked out with no time to look for another place. lost a mother and could not grieve properly because of this is discrimination and tenant favoritism. this is the picture of the neighbor who was breaking in late hours of the night causing a disturbance

Excellent service from Ismael - fixed my leaking sink. Great work

Nice apartments, pleasant area. But if you live by the park, be prepared to deal with parking issues. Between the park visitors and now motorcycles taking up a whole parking spot, good luck parking! The only solutions that seems to work and everyone is doing is to get a 2nd or 3rd car and keep it parked in the spots. Is it fair for the seniors living in the area? Absolutely not. It would be very inconsiderate. Does the leasing office care? Hell no!

Just moved here in July and I wouldn't recommend. I had high hopes of moving here and been watching for months for availability. The space is huge, but space isnt optimized in the master room. Master bath shower and tub could've been bigger. Within 3 months here are just some of the issues experienced:
1) Super long maintenance resolution time frames. We waited 3 months to have some issues attended too and insulted our intelligence on how appliances work as if we didn't know how to use it. As a new tenant, I was hoping to have some issues resolved much sooner.
2) We have one of the largest units available yet smallest refrigerator possible. The fridge provided doesn't fill in the space that was custom made for it, and all neighbors with smaller apartments have a larger fridge than we do. I would've expected the larger apartment would warrant a larger refrigerator. Also throws the look off as it is too small and doesn't fill in the space.
3) Ancient engineering. There are no lights for the bedrooms or living room. They have no intentions of updating it. There isn't any intentions of modernizing apartments.
4) Imbalanced air and heat. During summer, it is extremely cold downstairs and hot upstairs. The ventilation system needs cleaning or updating, but huge difference between floors and makes impossible to find balance.
Place has so much potential, but lacks some well needed qualities. Hoping things change over the term of the lease, otherwise will be leaving at our earliest opportunity and will be updating with pictures.

The photos of the units online is not what you get. The quality of renovations is a joke. My floor is uneven, the coating on the tub is peeling off. They have no model unit, I took the chance on this place because of the location, ideal for my job. This is 100% not worth it. EVERYONE here lives disgusting that I’m dealing with mice and roaches. It’s not worth what they’re charging a month. I’ve had to wait a month before some could come out and I’m still dealing with the issues. PLEASE TRUST ME, do not waste your time or money. My lease is almost up and I’m running.

I love it here

Ruddy from Renaissance Management was the best. I had a insect issuee and he took his time to install a back door draft protector to prevent bugs and insects from entering my apartment

DO NOT RENT HERE. Leasing agent is extremely rude. Terrible maintenance service, we found roaches, screws on the floor, broken vents, a broken screen door that won't lock, wet paint all over the floor, and a window that fell. This was a new apartment that "passed" inspection. The apartment is in disgusting condition, with dirty carpets, bleach smell, broken recycling bin and trash can, and complete disregard for our saftey.
How dare you leave screws on the floor and leave a broke window and door, do you even care about my safety? Completely disgusting!
An emergency maintenance order was put in, 4 days with no response and no results. I have called and emailed customer service, spoke to the leasing agent and the email was forwarded to the property manager- NO RESPONSE.
No property manager has reached out to us about the hazardous apartment they approved us for inspection.

My Grandmother has been living here for about two years; we got off to a rocky start with the leasing agent but things have been somewhat resolved. Monique is extremely helpful and kind to my grandmother and she is the only reason I’m giving this place any starts at all.
It is summer time and my grandmother has no functioning air conditioner in her bedroom. She has an AC in the living room that barely works and does NOTHING to cool the bedroom. She was told that the air conditioner in the bedroom doesn’t work and she needs to replace it at her own expense! Keep in mind, this is not a standard sized air conditioner, and wouldn’t fit in any other place. So they would keep it when she eventually vacates her apartment!! And cool the next tenant for FREE?!? I’m livid. And then they have the nerve to ask for reviews when they treat their seniors so poorly. She has to sleep at my house at times because it’s too hot in her room. What if she was alone like some of her neighbors? I hope this will be resolved.

These Apartments are expensive but they are hardly maintained. One of the handrails leading upstairs was partly separated from the wall. I was holding a luggage and the attempt to hold the handrail resulted in losing my balance.

DO NOT LIVE HERE! this community is run by a money hungry company and they don't fix anything. Units are old and not upgraded but I promise your rent will go up each year. They mishandled rent payments and will not take accountability for the mistake they made. They charge you a bunch of fees and will not reverse them for a mistake THEY MADE. They painted over mold and rotting wood and called it "fixed". Issues with PSEG because the community will not give them access to the meters so if they are read wrong or estimated too high, you still have to pay PSEG and be the middle man between both parties. Not worth the stress.

Rudy S is always Professional and readily available to assist the tenants maintenance and service issues faced! Thank you Rudy for always offering five star service and with consistency! Oh I cannot forget Gene you are awesome as well with the authentic service provided! Gracias, Gracias🙏🏿

Affordable and nice place to live. Pleasant and hardworking staff.

Ismael was amazing. Outstanding service, and he answered all my questions. He even gave me some tips on my dryer as well!
Thanks again, Ismael!
Thanks again, Ismael!

Ismael was extremely professional & respectfully . Does amazing work & has a good personality . Perfect guy for the job . Thanks Ismael !

I'm a FedEx driver, I work 6 days a week and I go to North Brunswick Senior Housing very often. I absolutely love Monique and Debbie in management. They're sweet and helpful to me and I seen them in action with the residents. They're awesome! Many of the residents are also nie ofcourse I see a few often and sometimes hold cool mini convos with them in the elevator or in front of the building. Even the maintenance guys are cool I know Carl and the other gentleman I can't remember his name but those guys are cool too and always look like they're getting things done. Thanks for being great people.

Wonderful place to live , I was here for 4 year , I’m very happy , Especially you got the laundry room from the 2nd to the 4th in the building , Community Room in the first floor and another Community Room in the 3rd floor , I love it .

I am planning on leaving here because it is not safe and to many suspicious activity goes around in this complex. I have kids and worry about their safety. Iv heard to many issues have happened here and very disappointed with management for their lack of urgency and empathy for the people that live here. I hear when people do call management the one in charge does not care and brushes everything off. They need to work on the safety here. Very disappointing.

An amazing asset and a blessing to the residents. His leadership qualities and professionalism in how he deals with emergency response issues is above and beyond any and all expectations. His work ethic and knowledge should be truly valued.

The maintenance repair man named Ishmael is so friendly, courteous, respectful, helpful, and a great asset to the complex. We’ve known him for about 15 years at this point. He always greets me when he sees me driving by. He is great at what he does and super knowledgeable about his field. He is always super quick with repairs and responds fast. He always explains the issue and gives me tips to prevent it in the future.
He is such a delight to have around. He deserves every promotion or raise possible. We know we are in good hands when he shows up at the door.

Ishmael made my stay here an amazing living experience! He was always pleasant and extremely professional. He always came prepared to do whatever was needed without ONE complaint. Having maintenance ALWAYS come in a timely fashion was the highlight of my living experience here! I will be moving to North Carolina soon and I hope that my next maintenance technician will always show up with a smile like Ishmael!!!

We’ve lived out in Renaissance since 2007 moving from another local best rent nj complex this was definetly an upgrade. We have had 2 head supers the current one is Rudy S. Him and his staff have become close to our family. He always answers our maintenance calls to the best of his ability. As others have stated the property is aging which is inherent but Rudy and his crew have been kind especially as when we show patience to one or two recurring problems that happen annually. In terms of being respectful usually Rudy and 1 of the other staff including Gene come to handle the maintenance request and have handled the task with ease and have always been respectful.

I have been a resident at Renaissance Manor for over 12 years and have had the opportunity to receive maintenance services from Ismael on a number of occasions. He has always been polite knowledgeable , personable and professional in his handling of all maintenance issues. He is an asset to the complex and I look forward to his response to any of my future maintenance

These apartments are ok, but they are more for older/seniors retired folks. I can't even have the volume at 15 on my TV my neighbor starts banging on my ceiling. Kids can't come over even conversation I had with people are an issue. I'm hardly ever home most of my time is spent at work, but would like to sit back and relax when I'm home. Otherwise it's ok just keep that in mind, but you might get lucky and get a nice neighbor.

I was interested in renting a 1 bedroom apartment and to my surprise this community is not pet friendly. Of course, on their website it does not mention that. I called to make sure if my service animal is accepted and she said NO, while also saying that they are. She asked what kind of animal, I answered, DOG. She hanged up the phone. IN THIS COMMUNITY THEY DISCRIMINATE SERVICE ANIMALS!!!!

Have a bunch of clowns or anything you get a circus building management are unprofessional

here the towing takes the cars, while you are visiting families who are sick and are not even able to ask if the cars belong to someone, they simply call and they take them away

a very bad administration, and on top of that when you are visiting a sick relative, they call you to the towing and they take your car without warning or asking

I have been living here for several years. My apartment is spacious and full of closet space. The entire maintenance team has been wonderful. They have come to fix any issues I may have had in my apartment. Damaris, Jackie, Robin and Holly from the leasing office always greet you with a smile and help assist you with anything you need. Thank you!

The good:
-Brand new, clean renovated apartments
-Really large walk in closets
-Wood Floors
-Pet friendly
- Lots of families in the community so you won’t be running into many 3am college parities
Now for the BAD:
-Management is virtually non existent. I’ve been living here for a few months and there’s already been a management change and the new manager is on site once a week
-There’s nowhere really for packages, so packages get left outside for anyone to grab. Luckily everyone in the community is super nice so I feel relatively comfortable
-They charge 20 bucks for a “gym” with like 4 machines in it
-Repairs are often slow, there’s only one repairman
-The laundry machines DONT WORK. That’s right, washers flood, dryers don’t dry your clothes. It’s a complete waste of money and time and it’s been like that since I’ve lived here and nobody has done anything about it.

Dirty living environment. Lived here one month and have already have three light fixtures break. Two leaks from upstairs into my kitchen, and a sewage backup from another apartment. Try calling or emailing management? Good luck getting someone who will actually come and fix the issue.

I am a new tenant and I am very disappointed. I reached out to maintenance via phone on Monday, August 2nd, submitted a maintenance request via the website on August 3rd, and I reached out to maintenance again August 5th. I sent an email to the leasing office on August 6th. On August 9th I spoke to Mike in the leasing office who stated that he would also send an email to maintenance. Also, on August 9th I submitted another request over the phone with maintenance requesting a call back from the property manager. I have submitted an email to code enforcement building and construction due to the appearance of a lack of safety regarding the balcony.
I have yet to receive a call back from any one at Renaissance Glen.
The issues in the apartment are as follows:
Mirrors in master and main bathroom need to be replaced
Crack in sink in main bathroom
Toilet seats do not fit toilet bowls
Drier periodically makes a loud screeching noise while operating, drier is chipped up on top and rusted, Drier lint catcher needs to be replaced
Screen door lock installed upside down
Cracks from top to bottom of balcony wall and wall falling apart (safety issue)
Balcony needs to be cleaned
Right side Sink in master bathroom water doesn’t go down smoothly
Blind in 1st floor bathroom too small
Rug that meets kitchen needs a separator
Sink in 1st floor bathroom goes down slow
Bedrooms do not receive proper air flow
Door to enter the apartment from the garage ,garage does not fit the doorway properly
The sink and shower knobs need to be replaced
Door knobs in closets do not match one side silver one side gold.

Horrible management under new management. I request cocroch treatment when its really needed they made a excuse of covid and when we dont have any bedbugs they sent treatment for that during same covid time when i said we dont need it manager didnt mention about panelty and they charge $85 then there was too many maintanence needed they alwayd make excuses water cuts off any time and now they change laundry and they gave us 2 days to use old laundry we have put $30 in card and they said it will close in 2 days and new laundry will start and if we dont have enough cloths to wash for $30 we just loose money like 2 days notice who does that?
This place should last choice to live in. Horrible management dont care about tanents at all

Overall not a bad place to live. Neighbors and maintenance staff are very friendly. Angel was always so friendly. Carls was also great when it came to answering questions I might have. The apartments are old and if you like to keep tidy it feels almost imposible. I scrubbed every inch of my apartment but it just always looked old and messy. The appliances are also a little old and break often. I had to have almost every one of them fixed at one point. Also the AC during the summer got really expensive (close to $400 a month) because the unit was old/broken. The noise from the apartments around you is also pretty bad. If you have a dog that's anxious and likes to bark when people come in I wouldn't live here. My dog ended up constantly stressed out and barked anytime someone came into the building. If you're looking for somewhere with a lot of space and a really friendly staff and don't mind some old/outdated apartments then this place is seriously great and a great price. I really enjoyed my time here and would have probably continued my lease, but after being stuck inside the apartment for the last year due to covid, I needed a change of scenery.

These management are stealing . Yes, that’s what it is. They are charging insane amount of money every month for water and sewer. 100$ monthly for water and sewer for a one bed and 2 people living . How the hell do we use so much we barely be home. Someone needs to look into this. Their work they do is horrible as well. So much rent plus these bills. Going to the governor

Nice & Comfortable Apartments! Emily Rodriguez at the Office is such a great person & very attentive to Detail when it comes to any Issues or Concerns!! Maintenance is very Nice & Always Fix any Issues, also keeping everything overall working perfect at all Times.

I move out the apartment and follow the rule of the agreement stated 45 days before move out. However, the management insist to charge me 3 more days. I have pointed this out that is not make sense. But they don't repeat and not answer my question. Just only say correct. I absolute disappointed for this management. I fully NOT recommend to move in because they don't care / not treat you as customer. Very Bad Service...

Emily, the Property Manager of North Brunswick Gardens, is a consummate professional and made my experience in applying for an apartment easy and understandable. She is smart, efficient, courteous, and very personable. She's also extremely organized and responded to any correspondence promptly and succinctly. Emily has a warm and engaging rapport with anyone who requires her help, and I have greatly benefited from her assistance during this process. Thank you and Bravo Emily!

this place is filled with roaches, my mom has been living there for 9 years n they never helped with this situation. it’s filthy !!!

Horrible if you don't want to deal with roaches and bedbugs stay away from this apartment

This place is not less than a hell. I feel regret all the time and curse when I signed the lease. In the beginning, on site manager was very nice and reassured us for any problem or maintenance request but shortly after we moved in, we realized that this place is worse ever place to live. First of all, no accountability at all. Even for emergency services, response comes in 3-4 days. Manager is selling salvaged/ accidental cars after repairing in the building premises. No office hours and no contact number for management. Manager never responds to any calls and always shed his responsibility. Corridors are not secured. Trash cans are full of garbage with bad smell in odd days. Very thin roofs, you could hear the noise of unit above you. Even a person walks in the above unit makes horrible noise. So noisy that you can’t even take a nap in early or late hours. No direct contact number for management. Even after approaching management, no remedial action. No morale or ethical values. Harrasment by management by sending false and threatening notices just to make money and preventing people from complain for genuine problems. Totally unsafe from hygiene purposes. Please think zillion times before signing a lease. Your life will be a hell. This review is from personal experiences.

Always satisfied with the services that they provide , great manager & superintendent ,i love the fact that every time i put a request they quickly respond with expected results
Friendly community , been here at STRATFORD ARMS over 2 years i have had a great experience with the manager great guy always with smile , and treating people with respect
thank you

Great management, winter clean up is great...interior is always cleaned...manager is friendly and professional property is well taken care of...neighbors are friendly

I've been living here for nearly 3 years now. I must advise anyone who reads this to disregard the comments about people on section 8 being the "issue" that is pure ignorance at its best. And seems useless to reviewing the actual apartment living environment itself. I can't speak for others personal experience but I have not encounter major issues with maintenance nor main office issues. The wall installation is great on limit noises (fair). Plumping, electricity, and the gas usage all work fine. When I had experienced problems, the maintenance addressed in less than 24 hours. All your electric/gas is paid in one bill (fairly amount) The Cons: No bbqing, garage is useful as storage not for a sizeable car. Charge for swimming pool, brand new carpet sheds badly, repaint job was excuted poorly, the layout is not the best wasted space (personal opinion though), not too long after moving in water leakage in living room, floors seem a bit wobbly or perhaps settling. Thats it! Neighborhood expericence: Friendly neighbors, everyone keeps to themselves and yet communicates. There is security onsite daily. Currently a middleschool is being built so the fairly quiet neighborhood may change. Overall you'll find something wrong with this place but it's a great beginner place for my family of 6. Hope this helps with a current renter with a family who is new to the state, such as myself. Good luck and happy rental hunting.

Horrible services with horrible on-site manager. This place is not for professionals. Dirty corridors and flees roam inside the corridor and enter in apartment. Manager do his own private business of selling cars in the office hours. He never picked the phone. When we tell him some problems, he always say that nothing is in his hands. Children play in the corridors and make too much noise. The noise is so loud that no one can even sleep, study or talk on the phone. Late night parties with too loud music. Calling Manager for any issue goes vain as he never respond on time. Calling maintenance request is even more horrible as they just listen to the request and no one shows even after putting request for emergency issues like toilet overflowing and other immediate needs. On-site manager is very rude and never sit in his office. He does private business in the building premises with no office hours or person available for 7 days in a week. Strongly recommended to think 10 times before applying for apartment. Your life will be hell here.
We met the owner of the building by visiting 45 miles away from apartment building. He said don’t expect the services. So if you are planning to stay here be ready to live in a place without basic services. They will send you unnecessary legal notices by adding the unnecessary charges in your account without any explanation.
Children are playing in the corridor all the time making too much noise. Walls and roof is too thin that you can’t even sleep, talk or study. The roof is making so much annoying noise while someone walk. I complained too many times but no action was taken.
The comments you will read about the good reputation of on site manager are asked to put just after my review. Otherwise you can check there were only 2 reviews before mine and that 2 were against the property.

Rented a two bedroom apartment here,I liked the fact that it was closer to more shopping center in North Brunswick. But if you have a large family (2 adults and 3 kids) don’t come here because this complex wouldn’t give you a pass. And if you want to break your lease forget it, they will give you hell after you pay the $750 for the breaking of the lease they will ask you to make monthly payments until someone gets your apartment. Then what was the $750 for.. they are a bunch of thieves. This review is to let large families who can’t afford a 3 bedroom apartment to beware. And also my apartment had a sewer smell everyday.

i would give them 5 star but there are two issues. first one is a huge huge huge problem which is parking. they need to assign each apartment at least one parking spot. weekdays you get back home at 7 or 730 forget that you will find any parking close to to your apartment. the big and empty lots are roughly a mile away and paying 1900$ in rent i would expect that much leisure that i don't have to walk that far to park my car. secondly my apartment is on the back side second floor so the car cannot get there so i have to walk with heavy groceries all the way from parking lot to my apartment. they have a huge wooded area which they can utilize to make parking lot for people in the apartments on the back side of the complex. besides that i do not have any complains, maintenance people always come to resolve reported issues, no bugs, privacy is there compared to other apartments where you can hear neighbors, and pleasant environment. i live in one of their townhouses on the second floor. the greenery is beautiful. train is loud when the windows are open. over all a good place to live if you want to spend 1900$ a month.

Save ya money and run

I lived in Hidden Lake for 10 months between 2017 to 2018 and it was a great experience. There were very few maintenance issues, and when the two came up immediate assistance was provided.
I was relocated before the expiration of my lease and the help Hidden Lake's staff provided was top notch. They were pleasant and quick with responses when it came to signing the documentation to receive reimbursement from my company.
The one downside I could say is that the appliances are fairly outdated and my master bedroom/living room did not contain overhead lighting. Other than these small issues, my stay couldn't have been better. Complex comes highly recommended.

Don't move here. This place is disgusting. They dont care about anything but the rent. I have an ant infestation and they dont care. There is garbage everywhere. Loud music and parties every night. The so called laundry room is disgusting. I was told that the apartment was personally inspected by Robin and the head super, so why were the kitchen pipes not connected so I can have running water when I moved in? Not too surprising that this is their idea of inspected. I wouldnt be shocked to find out that there is no CO for the apartment. I have attached pictures. Judge for yourself.

I lived at the Glenn for about 2years and unfortunately had to moved due to unforeseen circumstances and break my lease early. Didn't have a problem except for some issues with maintenance. But overall really enjoyed my time living there. The office staff at the leasing office were the sweetest. They were beyond helpful and kind with me.

You honestly cannot beat the value of this complex in this area. It's safe and extremely convenient. You can walk to literally anything you could possibly need. I had one bad experience when someone went into my car and stole some of my belongings one night, but I take some blame for not locking the car. Office management, as stated by other reviewers, can be rude and WILL LIE TO YOU to get what works best for property management (Judi). Know what's on your lease to eliminate that possibility. The apartments are a good size and rent is cheap compared to comparable apartments in the area. The bad: paper-thin walls. You can hear neighbors watch TV, have a conversation, walk, have sex, you name it. If you can get passed this, it's not so bad. I was listening to music and having a conversation with 2 friends at 11:00 on a Friday night and the cops were at my door. It was not that loud. I lived here for 2 years and it was not unbearable. The so-called "supers" are entirely useless. If you have any sort of household repair skills, just perform repairs yourself. For example, my bathroom door wouldn't close because it swelled up from humidity. Asked a super to fix it... they shaved so much of the door off, you could clearly see through the crack when the door was closed! They preach that you can't drive on the grass to load/unload things, but they'll drive a dually pickup truck on the grass and completely destroy it, then not put down grass seed for several weeks. They earned the nickname "super stupids".

Anyone who talks North Village Apartments down makes me seriously wonder WHY! I've lived here for a very long time and my mother and sister have lived here even longer (some 25 years!) and we have never had a problem of any kind, whatsoever! Judi and Corrine run the office with great efficiency and warm kindness ... also, whenever I need some sort of maintenance taken care of, a supervisor shows up in less than an hour every time. Lastly, the grounds are kept up year round ... neat and clean as can be! I LOVE North Village Apartments!

I have been here for a year and a half. I have to agree with what people are saying. There are good points and bad points here. There are ghetto people here, not sure if section 8 Is the number one cause, but it is likely. There are children here who are disrespectful, rude and could not care less about their property or anyone else's. It makes for a bad atmosphere.
The maintenance is very confusing, there are very good in terms of things needing to be fixed when called. They come quickly and take care of every problem and the office follows up to make sure the jobs are done. What I don't understand is the snow removal....the previous review was not a rant, they were telling the truth. It took them so long to clear the drive and sidewalks.
I will be moving soon also, I hope I don't have to edit this review concerning the security deposit, but we'll see.

Beware.. they will try to keep your initial deposit $. They will quote small things and charge a huge amount of money. Keep away from them as much as possible.
