Always busy with a variety of things going on. Watch out for broken glass/garbage/campers in some areas.
Five courts, not too busy, courts could use a bit of repair

Next to the Blanshard avenue, close to Mayfair mall, very good play ground for kids to play.

Not very well maintained - there’s a permanent tent encampment. A homeless guy ran by us wielding scissors and acting crazy.

probably won’t return and risk getting stabbed.
beware the drunk middle aged degenerates...

A great outdoor tennis court. It has 4 courts in total and are one of the more popular courts in Victoria. Very nice and clean, next to a park and in residential area so it’s safe and clean. Lots of mosquitoes during summer tho 😅. All courts are usually full around pick time like 6-7pm. Since it’s base on first come first serve, you may have to wait for your turn

Great Pickleball courts 😭 however James Bay just painted out the lines and kicked us out. Too bad for Sportsmanship.
Great location and good courts but unfortunately many homeless around the park.
Great courts great location but watch out for the old ladies playing pickleball they epitomize angry and entitled.

Nice place to play but surly white guy (tennis player) was shading us to let his pals use the court we were playing on while they were also using a court. So we left when we were done a game as we didn't enjoy the vibe. I think they usually play in the mornings.
Love Beacon Hill tennis. Friendly and inviting. Sunny day. Great Doubles match.

Great all weather surface with three tennis courts (pickleball removed 2022). Usually reserved for club play during weekdays but free on Saturdays and evenings.
Gets pretty busy and two of the four courts are generally booked for pickle ball. Overall the surface and nets are good and a little bit less wind than other courts close-by.
Great public courts. Thanks to the city and Parks department for keeping them in good shape.
4 tennis courts with courtside benches.
2 of them have pickelball lines overlayed.
Bathrooms nearby in small parking lot.
There is also a basketball/rollerblade court adjacent to the tennis courts.
All Facility's are in good shape.
4 courts.. great place for tennis.. or pickle ball.

Welcome to the James Bay Tennis Club! We book two courts here during weekdays from 9:00-11:00. We play doubles, mostly 3.5 level but all levels are welcome. You can join for a modest annual fee.
Super well maintained courts
Two pickleball courts that are also tennis courts. People living in tents and only structures in the park.
Friendly place to play tennis
They are very good courts! What makes everyone want to play there 😂 So, be ready to wait
AOK -- courts, nets, backboards, washrooms for both genders are open, clean and operational. There is no drinking fountain, but there is a water bottle filling station 😉😁
Great place to meet nice tennis recreational players. The courts are nice, lush green park all around, very refreshing and rejuvenating.

So a somewhat funny and sad story. Went to these tennis courts multiple times and was always surprised how busy it was at any time of day. This particular time it was around 11am and drove by noticing a free court. So, my buddy (who i picked up) and I parked on Niagara Street and were walking by the Victoria Edelweiss Club when these 2 older guys in their 70 to 80's go running past us (were in our 30's) saying "First one to the court gets the last spot".... considering we were almost walking up and they knew we would have been playing in a matter of seconds.. and knowing we could easily run past some 80 year olds we thought they would want to play doubles or something ... but no, they actually stole the court from us shrugging their shoulders. They had a sign that said not to use the court for more than an hour I believe, but all I remember is we waited until that time and left because nobody was giving up their court for others. I'm leaving my review at 3 because I know they will never enforce a public court, just a shame on the experience and more people are not willing to obey the rules.

Just resurfaced.... so in good shape at the moment. Slopes..... needs decent levelling. Well fenced. Reasonable community facility.
One of the only tennis courts in Victoria for drop in doubles. Many friendly skilled players willing to play with you.

Most courts in very good condition, but seldom blown off by maintenance crews, and nets often below standard height.
Beautiful park with a giant seqouia lingering in the middle, the bad part is the people who come by at night but the city isn't doing enough for them so no surprise here.
4 Tennis courts with a well maintained surface and nets. Washroom is available close by as well.
5 tennis courts, well kept. Only downside is the lack of benches/spots for you to put your things. Had to leave all our stuff on the ground but not the end of the world :)
Courts are old and dirty. Nice central location though and close to a good tennis store
