I've had both online and in person classes here.

I have been trying to get help to fix my cashnet payment plan since December but I've had no help I have called an emailed several times but it's all in vain. I would rather go to school somewhere else than get completely ignored about a serious problem I'm having.

A great education for an affordable price. The MBA program like many online programs require a lot of self learning but it’s a perfect match for me who prefers this online format to strict class times. Courses have been easy to register for and provide quality content while also including textbooks for free. The pacing of the classes are pretty quick given the accelerated nature of the courses so those attending definitely need to make time in their schedule to sit down with the materials. The software for classes work fairly well with Moodle being the learning platform and Proctorio being the exam proctor. Though some less technologically inclined professors might not use all the features Moodle has to offer and Proctorio might not work well for those that like to take exams last minute. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my time in my program and look forward to learning more and hopefully graduating in the Spring!

Run. Degree mill with decrepit internal procedures. Some good professors, but the administration is deplorable and you will spend a profuse amount of time dealing with them , instead of learning. Far better options at same price point, don't take the trap. Run fast.

They keep denying my employer without even looking into it beyond a basic level. Crooks!!!!!!!

LONG REVIEW INCOMING: I mostly enjoyed my time here as a student. being such a small school, your time here will 100% be what you make of it. faculty and staff were generally great, save for some minor and isolated complaints i have with those who i never had to interact with much in the first place (looking at you psych department and admissions office). i will not feed you a lie that it is all sunshine and rainbows, as there have been times where i was quite angry as a whole with centenary as an institution but for me, the good definitely outweighs the bad. students are generally tolerable in my experience, there are absolute gems of people you can find if you are open and kind. it is hard for me to make a statement as a whole about the student body, but I can say that they tend to be either "rich" students who come from financially well-off families that or students who come from poverty who managed to be able to afford to attend thanks to scholarships funded by generous donors, lots who are even homeless and would have no place to go if not for the dorms. in my experience, there's been few genuinely "in the middle" students who come from situations that don't fall in those categories. I have also noticed that perhaps students like to gossip and "word travels fast at centenary" is generally accepted as common knowledge, though i am unsure if that is genuinely a 'centenary thing' or if it is consequence of something else like the small student body or the general age range of young undergrad college students. those who attend centenary tend to be 'traditional' straight-to-college-from-high school students, which can cause upset if you are someone with a non-traditional education path. i entered centenary as a 19 year old freshman in 2019, due to turn 20 that academic year and it honestly ended up getting quite annoying how often my peers would remark upon it, with some even seemingly being genuinely shocked i was a college freshman at 19 despite how normal that is. if you are entering centenary as a freshman and don't fall within the age range of 17 ~ 18, do be prepared to deal with some people (a small amount, but there nonetheless) genuinely being shocked by it or looking down on you for it. in my experience, being selective at first about who you tell your year and letting yourself first be judged based on your character when possible has been helpful as the "ew freshman" mindset of upperclassmen that is quite prevalent in high school is still going strong at centenary.

As someone queer, i feel LGBT students are generaly safe with and respected by staff&faculty, though, do not expect a feeling of camaraderie amongst LGBT students since the campus's LGBT-centered club for students is lacking in attendance+interest, with only a tiny dedicated group of students keeping it alive. The general campus climate for LGBT students is okay, and I do not feel that lgbt students are in any particular danger of being maliciously targeted due to their identity.

HIGHLY recommend if: you're interested in studying abroad (the opportunities are unmatched), want to study in a setting where you will be in the presence of professors who tend to generally care about your success, are a student who will thrive in classes of small size, interested in rigorous academics, open minded and willing to embrace new people+information&experiences with respect, are a STEM student (bio&neurosci profs are great and cent's engineering 3/2 program is unique) who wants to be well-prepared for post-grad studies, want a school that can leave you well educated on topics in many areas

Wellllll, there is alot left to the imagination here. The campus almost looked abandoned on our first visit. The neighborhood that the campus is situated in is super scary. It should definitely be a safety issue that anyone walking in off the streets can access the campus, it should be gated. There was obviously no landscaping at the beginning of the semester. I found that extremely odd. Kind of spoke volumes of the pride or lack there of for this school. On check-in you could tell that the housing quarters hadn’t been cleaned nor inspected. There were kitchen appliances that didn’t work, broken furniture and the bath tub was full of comet, that someone just poured in there and left behind. For those who have limited options for obtaining a college education, this teaches you the value of making much better choices.

Although the pandemic has slowed activity, there was still an impressive amount of students attending!!,

This is a very old liberal arts college. Once on the outskirts of town, it is now at the heart of the city. With a lovely walking path garden full of trees and flowers from around the area, each noted and described with small placards, this campus is very pleasant. A small radio station (KSCL) gives students and locals some experience in local broadcasting as well as a small voice for unusual music.

I have repeated been given wrong information here and it wasn’t over small things. I had to either call Natichoches, figure it out myself or talk to former students for correct info.

Pretty good school, I am an online MBA student as well as a Grad Assistant here. Very helpful with admissions/HR/student advising/registering for classes.

Only annoying thing is they instituted this new ProctorU service to watch students while they take exams. The proctors have full access to your computer while you take exams. Total invasion of privacy, not to mention can be a pain in the butt to log in (some students have to allot 1+ hour just to login to an exam).

If I could give this place negative stars, I absolutely would. I was treated POORLY. I can't think of a worse word to use. The absolute worst professors, doubt any of them have degrees themselves. The material was SO different than the tests for all but math (I took 2 biology's and a medical terminology). I may have wasted 2 semesters here because I have trouble saying I even learned anything. Barbara Hollis, biology professor, was the WORST woman I have ever met in my life. She failed numerous times to help me and other students and was just plain ridiculous, having no understanding for her students and was too full of herself to help her own students. She thought she was "too smart" and felt it necessary to mention her sad accomplishments every time a student doubted her or asked for help. Most professors had the same attitude as this sad excuse of a school hires the lowest of the low.

Trying to enroll in this school is a nightmare. The staff is not helpful at all, and they’re rude. I truly hope classes go well, but with a start like this I’m not keeping my hopes up.

Getting info about admissions and registration from LSUS is like speaking to Comcast. If I was contacted, they would say they were a rep, but then transfer me to the admissions office...who had no idea what was going on. They even transferred me and the admissions office was closed...this was after calling ME. I sent all information, paid application fee, paid for transcripts to be sent in time, and still did not hear from them until after the registration deadline asking if I wanted to sign up for the Spring term. It definitely felt like I was being bounced around a call center instead of a higher learning facility. Very very frustrating.

I graduated from here, the biology department teachers are awesome. Don't live in the apartments connected to the school unless you have no choice.

Great school great teachers, they just need to get ride of the university court apartment and build their own student community/village.

This college should be closed. It is unorganized from top to bottom, from admissions and transcripts to financial aid and registration. Teachers do not teach anything just say read, they miss lots of classes without any notice to the students. I also feel they do not like Caucasians there! There is no respect for anyone (I'm from another country and I was shocked when I saw this). I was taking the MLT program it was a horror. The teacher Miss Stephanie Bell does not teach anything at all and will not answer any questions u less you make an appointment. How rediculous is that? You can't ask I question in her sorry excuse for a lecture where she gets paid to read straight from the textbook! The whole class had very poor grades, no one was passing this class. But in the middle of the semester magicly the students had the answers to all the test I assume Miss Bell gave the students the answers to the tests and exams because she was in a bad situation. Of course, no one gave me the answers because I am white. This college is awful I left it and am very happy. This is a garbage hole it needs to be closed.

Went to school here

I don't know if they are understaffed or they just don't like some patients but my mother was not threaten very well. She was involved in an accident and when being treated at the hospital they didn't change her bloody sheets but instead was fixing the hair of the other patient in the room. Took over 10 min to respond to her iv machine going off but came within 3 min to her room mates call. Read an entire food menu to the other patient but didn't even offer food to m mother (she was not npo). When asked if she could have a bed bath because her tailbone and hip were broken and she couldn't get out of bed the aid tossed the bucket in the room infrint of the bed and left the room. Although I have heard good things about this hospital we did not see such things.

I love that school but It was so good to be there

I had the chance to attend Centenary College of Louisiana as a foreign student in 2011. By far this experience has been the best of my life : they all gave me the opportunity to meet students from different nationalities and to share unforgetable moments with them on an American campus.

I attended a semester here, which none of my professors taught class (most of my classes were cancled) and I was failed because I didn't agree with a teachers views on a subject... plus the staff is so rude, no matter how hard you grit your teeth and smile.

I've been attending this university since 2006. One of the biggest things I like about the school is the fact that it has a culture of respecting one another, no matter where you come from. Ethnicity really does vary. Out of these 8 to 9 years, I've never experienced harassment or bullying.The only time I see childish behavior out of students is when the crazy religious group comes up on campus and intensely judges you while waving the bible in your face. LSUS students will get angry and band together to fight these pigs off. The university also announces awareness events such as sexual harassment, or tips on how to study, how to avoid depression, or very intense and interesting debates about anything. We have guest speakers, bands come to play, as well as exciting events dealing with clubs, food, and other activities. LSUS really does treat its students...especially with food. We also have our own restaurant if you want to call it that, but the food really isn't anything unique. It always reminds me of food you'd buy at Wal-Mart or any other grocery store. Campus police are also on patrol around campus.

I knocked off two stars for a few reasons.
1) The smoking policy really sucked. Smokers had more rights than people who don't smoke. It would say 25 feet away from the door, but they didn't have enough common sense to see that people would still be suffering from all that bad second-hand smoke when they come out of the building or approaching it. I mean seriously!!. With my experiences, I've ran into smokers ANYWHERE on campus. Now, it wasn't until this past August they finally got smart and made it a tobacco-free campus. Now, I don't have to hold my breath anymore or walk in the grass just to avoid these inconsiderate idiots. But I knocked off a star because they made me go through this for years when they should have handled this earlier. Apparently, people's health was not that important at the time. I hate smokers.

2) They really need variety in who teaches what. For example, there is only one professor that teachers a specific kind of statistic, and she's not always very comfortable, especially if you visit her office, yet she seems to make you feel stupid or make you feel intimidated just for asking her questions. There are professors there that act like you're supposed to be perfect when you're listening and taking notes in class. When I first attended for those first few years, they used to have a variety of classes, or at least it was easy to plan your schedule. But since the budget cut, my experience with picking classes has not been the same.

3) This last one, makes me want to kick off another star. But We used to get our financial aid checks on the FIRST day of school. Now, they hold YOUR money for FOUR weeks becuase it was said that the students would just take the money and leave, which I guess causes the campus to issue tons of refunds, which they lose money. But here's the thing about punishing everybody rather than just targeting and hunting down those are actually in the wrong; I don't have a job. I was laid off and had a hard time finding anything after that. That financial aid is literally, what I live off of. I've needed it for doctor appointments, GROCERIES, bills, and other emergencies. There was one time I and my family were so hungry that all we had in the house was eggs and peanut butter. I was so angry with LSUS. Also, I'd rather buy my books off campus where it's cheaper. But since they hold your check, you really have no choice but to purchase from their highly expensive, over-priced bookstore through your LSUS ID. How convenient....for THEM. So, here's my advice. Try to save your money for next semester if you want to avoid buying a $600 book, when you can get on Amazon or Ebay for $200. Overall, the campus needs work. And I'm no longer impressed with LSUS when before, I was proud.

My sister goes to southern and she came home to visit me her 11 year old sis to tell me no matter what people say to you bad about southern don't take it because all your life since momma died I took care of you and you wanted to follow in my footsteps so what all you people say bad about southern is your opinions if you have to see that reason you went there go back and see that moment because its not something to take seriously get through college and BOOM!! No more worries
