The worst school in all of Atlanta. The way it’s structured is absolutely terrible. It’s not safe, drugs and homeless people all over the place. Their customer support is lacking years behind

I like the campus it's cosmopolitan the students look respectable

I HATE this school . People are rude and the instructors are a joke ! Most of the instructors are so rude and do not care about students at all. They respond to you rudely or don’t return emails. This school is so useless and unorganized . I wish I can transfer out of this school. If I could go back I would not have came here . You have no support and nursing students have to find their own clinical sites. On top of that, it’s mixed in with the homeless . I am afraid I’ll get mugged at times when walking around it does not feel safe. Just not a good school.

I'm a Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech, and a hell of an engineer—
A helluva, helluva, helluva, helluva, hell of an engineer.
Like all the jolly good fellows, I drink my whiskey clear.

Oh! If I had a daughter, sir, I'd dress her in White and Gold,
And put her on the campus to cheer the brave and bold.
But if I had a son, sir, I'll tell you what he'd do—
He would yell, 'To hell with Georgia!' like his daddy used to do.
Oh, I wish I had a barrel of rum and sugar three thousand pounds,
A college bell to put it in and a clapper to stir it round.
I'd drink to all the good fellows who come from far and near.
I'm a ramblin', gamblin', hell of an engineer!

Sorry to see you go. This was my favorite line of school. Hopefully they can come back. We need art!

School used to be respectable before the new president and board took over. The student population is thrown to the wolves (especially young women). The classes are filled with uninspired professors who are unorganized and disinterested. The administrative staff is rude, childish, combative and unhelpful. The President of GSU is a corporate shill who’s only interest is increasing revenues in ways that only harm the student population. The standards for admissions have dropped precipitously since the new President’s arrival which has bled into the more reckless environment we are seeing at Georgia state. Women are also getting fondled and harassed everyday now. Also the racist security gives preferential treatment to white students while bullying black students.

Great food. Safe Environment.

Great game tonight. Saw The Mayor of The City of Atlanta, a Ga Tech Alumni, he's very nice & handsome. Ga Tech Men's Basketball Coach is very personalable

Great school, beautiful campus and fun activities for students to get involved in!

i think its a awesome school for me hopefully, its in atl, and i can study lots of engineer in music and learn music theory

Literally the worst school I have ever been to. I'm working on a grade appeal right now because of an instructors mistake and that department has literally been of no help. The grade appeal process for that college is very biased against students. It has been a month of me going back and forth with the head of that department because they want a specific word in the grade appeal instead of looking at the facts and documents provide. I understand that there is a lot of other things that are important but this messes with my classes and money I am paying with and isn't fair to me or any other student who needs a grade appeal. If this process was a lot more helpful to me and my issues I won't be stressed right now because of fall classes. I definitely will not be returning to GSU after I finish my degree.

Enjoyed my time here for graduate school. I live outside the city but getting to campus for classes wasn’t too bad. The faculty in the geosciences department are incredible and provided a great education. Campus can be a little sketchy at night but it’s normally full with people so I never felt unsafe.

I rode their shuttle one day and was yelled at because I had my phone on speaker for 3 seconds to listen to the phone call while putting my things down. I have been yelled at for walking into the bathroom of a closed building. Did I know it was closed? No. The staff and faculty of this university is atrocious. I have been at other universities and seeing how much better anywhere else is, GSU is just sad.

Lost its accreditation and couldn't give me my certificate after finishing the program.... Wouldn't refund and the loans I took out through student aid i still owe? Super backwards and crazy

Got 2 BAs at GSU. I loved my classes and the diversity. Yes, the campus IS downtown Atlanta. You will walk through the city as you walk across campus. If you do not want to walk through downtown Atl, this is not the school for you. I had two laptops stolen while I was at school, which was horrible, but overall I truly value the academic and life learning I got from attending GSU. I wouldn't have gotten as much out of attending a more closed or suburban/rural campus.

It’s great BUT why the dining gone ??? Who came up with such unbelievable ideas to remove the dining?

Everything is overpriced. There’s a reason why only Panda and Chick Fil A have people in line. Also I hate going to school here

The renovated student center opened in summer 2022. The new space has great light, but they bizarrely decided to decrease the already-limited dining options in the renovation. I have yet to get any remotely edible food from the 2nd-floor cafeteria. The Mexican place is particularly awful. The Chick-fil-A and Panda Express on the first floor are good, but this renovation wasted an opportunity to improve GT's longstanding weakness in dining options.

Located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia Tech provides unique opportunities for companies, governments, and students. All of the competitions and assignments are pushing technology forward, training some of the brightest engineers. World-class amenities such as an Olympic-sized fitness center and newly renovated library. Classes keep running with high quality instruction on ever-changing technical subjects.

Beautiful campus. Had “all you can eat”dinner in one of the student dining halls for ~$18. Also bought a GT-branded bottle as a souvenir.

Had a quick visit during a business trip. Pretty campus with a nice, calm vibe.

Fantastic campus. Calmer vibes in comparison to ours (Aggie class of ‘20, whoop!)

My daughter attended Art Institute of Atlanta for Fashion Designer. She absolutely loved it at that school and made some great friends there that she really could connect with. She also had the chance to sell her fashion creations and made a decent amount of money on this site magnifiquebonjour.com for designers who are looking to for help with bills, food, tuition ect.. So it does not mess with your studies. Hope I blessed someone today. My daughter now is working in Manhattan ,New York fulfilling her dream thank you Art Institute of Atlanta for making my little girl happy and successful!

Met some great mentors of the school today (visited during the school break)! The experience coming back blew me away, I was treated heavily with respect and a huge welcoming! I have been a graduate since ‘13 and I owe all my success to this school and all the teachers who have pushed me to be my best - thank you all! I appreciate all the truth and leadership for success! 🏆✨💯 Subscribe to my YouTube channel for financial freedom hacks! (Nathalie Lazo) ❤️👍🏼

Beautiful campus. Very interesting self guided tour with engaging interactive commentary. Wide range of accommodations nearby and very friendly students.

Me and my step grandfather went to this college yesterday to sort out financial aid. We did not want to accept loans, so the plan was to take a class or two at first. A financial aid officer pretty much said that it'd be better to go to a community college due to the expenses or possibly dual enroll. Out of everyone we've met at that college, she was by far the most honest about the colleges' situation and stated that the quality of the Art Institutes have indeed declined throughout the years (she has been there for 20 years). We could tell she wasn't lying.
We found out that the enrollment counselor was listening to the entire conversation out side of the door, because when she came back into the room she was fuming, stating something like "we can't keep going back and forth with this". She lied about the state of the Institutes, which we could both see since she was blinking her eyes rapidly as if to avoid eye contact. She was also dancing around our question instead of being direct about the college closings. The woman even had the nerve to rush us out without saying goodbye or wishing us a good day. This was EXTREMELY off-putting to us both, and creepy of the enrollment counselor to eavesdrop on this. The other enrollment counselor I had before this was was disorganized and also had no idea what she was talking about. I also didn't quite like how she was speaking to us. It felt like she was talking to a kindergarten class; not an adult student and parent.
The enrollment counselors care more about their pockets than helping the students. I highly recommend NOT attending this college. It'll likely go out of business anyway. Please go to a community college or take a mentorship. You'll be seen as a joke if you attend here, and your credits might not transfer to other places if you choose to transfer. This may be way the transfer rate is as low as it is. It even has a low retention rate. Attendance has declined throughout the years for a very good reason.
On a side note, the security doesn't seem to be the best. We all know drugs are on every campus, but when students are clearly smoking weed and possibly consuming alcohol (me and my step grandfather have smelled strong vomit and weed both times that we've been to the college where the students hang out), this is a possible sign that nothing is regulated here, and it's a small campus; that's inexcusable. What would security do in more serious causes like weapon possession?
Anyway here are the pros and cons I've seen so far:
Pros:
-There are some professors from SCAD there.
-If you're passionate at what you do, then you have the potential to be successful. If you procrastinate, then definitely don't go here because from what I've heard there's not much room for absences and they can SEVERELY hurt your grades.
-The college on an aesthetic level looks nice, with each floor matching the theme of the specific program.
Cons:
-It's VERY expensive; even if you attend a quarter with one class (it's around $2,000+; this doesn't include books and the kit). You can get a quality education at a community college, which is MUCH cheaper!
-Credits might not transfer.
-Based on my experience, the enrollment counselors seem to be more interested in your money than your best interests.
-A good portion of the staff there seems unprofessional, with some helpful people mixed in.
-Security is questionable.
-A lot of students mention having LOADS of debt and say that the
college doesn't help them get jobs.
-Degrees here are said to be worthless, and considering the Institutes are likely not going to be around much longer, it might not be a good idea to invest here.

Great

My son study Media Arts and Animation here. They has other fields to study ss fashion, culinary. Great President Mr. Newton. I admire this College. I you are one want to study that is your place. No matter whats what's your age.

Lots of important services/resources, but it can be very crowded at times and would benefit from renovation/expansion to better serve the demand, especially around midday and lunchtime.

The Student Center looks nice, but the so-called "New York" pizza at Ray's is disgusting. The only reason you could possibly call it New York-style is due to its general shape. My son had a cheese slice, and the cheese had neither the taste nor the consistency of mozzarella (or any cheese, for that matter). I had a slice of Hawaiian. It suffered from the same cheese, but they added pineapple and ham that was like eating small patches of leather. One of the ham pieces was so tough that I honestly worried that there might be a piece of plastic melted on to it. I saw that there was no line at Ray's, but a big line at the taco place. I would suggest you try that place instead. I left five stars for the Student Center, but the pizza is a zero! Note: Service was good. I hope the staff finds work at a better pizzeria.

The center is nice for studying and social times. Plenty room to telax, gather information, buy tickets and more. Now they offer Notary services. Vending machine plentiful.

UPDATE: Staff seem more polite now and the post office hours are getting extended, which is nice. Only issue is that packages are taking FOREVER to get processed for some reason. Average wait time for a package to get processed is about 2 days.
The post offices closes randomly and frequently for holidays, both real and not, even when there are still classes. Staff are extremely rude and call my printed name "illegible". Have to just take my package and walk away or I'll have to rewrite my name three or four times.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. A good number of the instructors were excellent, and took serious pride in their work. Some were utter trash. The attendance policy was, at the time I worked here, a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen; no idea if that's been adjusted since I left. The admissions criteria has also hopefully been adjusted; when I was there, it was sufficient to have a barely detectable pulse. Kids who had zero business being in a college environment were pulled in just to make the numbers.

THIS IS A RANT...
Graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Game Art and Design. I used my GI Bill to pay for school. It was still an uphill battle the entire 4 years financially. They would lose or not do paperwork that needed to go to the VA which ended forcing me to pay out of pocket for my housing which is built into my GI Bill. There are a small percentage of professors that have any clue what they are talking about. On more than one occasion the students ended up teaching each other the class material because the Professor was, for instance, a 2D Animator teaching a 3D Materials and Lighting class and building shader networks. Absolutely clueless. Then the Decatur campus announced its closing and forced students, whose sole reason for attending that campus was based on location and programs offered, to attend the Dunwoody campus another 40 minutes away on the opposite side of Atlanta. The Decatur campus also has their students park in an adjacent parking garage in downtown Decatur that used to charge students $6 per day every day you had class. That has now changed to $15/day. So a student paying over $100,000 for 4 years of tuition must pay in addition to living expenses and housing, $15/day every day you have a class at the campus. Most quarters I had 4 days of class so if my math is right you can tack on another $12,000+ to that tuition just to attend class. Administrative faculty is clueless about the degree programs and show no interest in the students other than what their handlers tell them they must show. Overall, the worst college experience I could have expected. I graduated with the Academic Achievement Award (essentially Valedictorian for my program) and won Best in Show for Portfolio and still sadly my degree isn't worth the paper it's printed on. Go to a state school and save all that money for your first house.
Art Institute, I hope you get what you so justly deserve and shame on you.
