I took the TESOL program in Glenn College in 2024. At first, I was nervous because all the classes were in English. I gradually got adjusted to it as I went through Module 1 and Module 2.
I didn't know there was an English text subtitle next to the screen, I studied by listening to it repeatedly and writing it down in my notes until Module 6. I think my scores weren't good in the beginning. But I was proud of myself. Because thanks to that, listening seems to have improved a little bit. Above all, Teacher Allan explained with many examples, which were very helpful in understanding. When there was a difficult part, Teacher Allan's special jokes made students be able to continue taking the class without getting tired. By the time I got to the second half, I was used to the class and it was fun and thrilling. 'Yes. I can do it.' Above all, Teacher Allan called me once a week. I was thrilled as I waited for him to call. He explained them about things I didn't know. He was very kind, explained things in detail, and most of all, gave me a lot of encouragement. He also told me to never rush and have fun. Before taking this Tesol course, I always had been learning English as a student, but this time I thought a lot about how I would teach children, and I am grateful to learn how to teach from teacher Allan. "Thank you Teacher Allan." Even now, I still hope that Teacher Allan will call me one day. ^^
Finally, I received a TESOL Diploma from Glenn College. Thank you.

My college experience was top-notch! The teachers were stellar, especially Yonathan, who was a real MVP. The facilities were decent, but let's just say the desks weren't exactly tailored to my comfort - I guess they weren't expecting someone with my stellar stature! But hey, who needs a perfect desk when you've got an awesome learning environment, right?

My journey at VIC was inspiring and amazing. I had the opportunity to make incredible friends from all over the world and learn a lot about the management process. My teachers have always been very careful during teaching and all the learning I have had I will apply in my career.

My recent experience with the institution was highly unsatisfactory. The facilities are in state of disrepair, with several windows unable to be closed properly. Additionally, some instructors exhibit poor English proficiency, making comprehension challenging for students. The class composition often includes individuals who lack basic understanding of the English language, having enrolled in an English course prior. Furthermore, certain members of the staff demonstrate rudeness and lack of concern for the overall student experience, prioritizing punctual payment above all else. Regrettably, I cannot in good conscience recommend this attempt of institution.

I studied and got a Tesol certificate! The professor who gave me the lecture expressed the difficult words or nuances more easily, so it didn't feel difficult at all! Among the humor of the professor, the story of Batman and Superman movies is the most memorable. lol

Taking TESOL online course, I have figured out how we teach students effectively, and what we can do for students. Furthermore, Allan Teacher's teaching was so funny and passionate that I want to be a teacher like him someday. Highly recommend to take TESOL online class😁

I recommend this school because the programs they have are very good and accessible. The teachers speak and pronounce the words very well. If you have questions they always help you resolve them. My favorite teachers are Ana Maria and Yonathan, they are very fun and professional, they always answered all my questions and explained very well.

As a student who left this school, please take this comment into consideration if you are considering coming to this school. First of all, the reason why I left this school is the lack of seriousness of the school staff in their work. Secondly, the curriculum is seriously sloppy. cornerstone is a place that only focuses on taking students' money. Let's assume you come to school and you have a problem (related to school) you will not find anyone to help you. Let me tell you my own experience (the simplest one)
They charged me 10 dollars for my school student ID card, then when I asked for my card they asked me if I had paid for it. When I said I paid, they said they didn't know where my card was. It's interesting and disrespectful for them to act like I'm demanding something I haven't paid for. What's worse is that after I left school, the program director (Arthur) asked me if everything was okay, considering my absences, and when I told him I was leaving school, he didn't even reply instead of asking why. Imagine, you leave your country and come to another country to get education and you leave school because of poor quality education. Your school doesn't even ask you if you're having any problems. Another issue is that when I asked for my money back, they said they would keep 30 percent of my money and send the remaining amount. In the e-mail I received for the refund, they said that the amount to be paid to me was 4600 dollars, but later it was calculated incorrectly and a refund of 2500 dollars would be made. The interesting and ridiculous thing is that the student number in the e-mail in which they said they would send 2500 dollars did not belong to me. Even though I said this, they said that the student number was wrong and the second calculation was correct.
Long story short, if you are planning to study at this school, I recommend you to seriously evaluate and research other schools and also contact someone who has studied at that school before.

I am very grateful to this school for opening the doors for me to be able to study, thanks to my teacher Yonathan Delgado who was very helpful, my first language is Spanish and I was not very confident, thanks to his motivation I did graduate and now I feel more fluent in the English language

the worst thing that can happen to you.
If you have the opportunity to study here, don't take it. From what I could experience and share with my class this school only serves as a bridge to study and get a work permit, if like me you have been saving and thinking that you finally found the right school to make your dream come true, better forget about that happening here, it is a fraud. Lousy "classes" and pseudo-professors. Don't spend your money.
REFUND MY $ 1,000 CAN, I don't care you apologies..

This is the best career college in Vancouver. I have been enrolled in the Digital Marketing Professional program in the evenings. I am very happy with the program. I would like to also thank my student advisor Tanja and my immigration advisor at VIC for helping me with everything.

It is definitely an institution that should be avoided. I studied here for 6 months and it was the funniest thing I've ever done in my life. First of all, it's not a school, it's not a university at all. It has no validity in Canada. just business premises. If you want to learn English, ESL courses may be useful. So if you miss your pre-kindergarten education. There is no difference... it may even have some shortcomings. employees are irresponsible. managers are rude. I realized the mistake I made and quit my education. I only studied for one semester. I received my diploma, which is not valid. Don't give your money here. Yes, it may be tempting when you want to come to Canada to study. but it won't help you.

Based on my experience with colleges around Vancouver, I could easily say that VIC is the greatest choice you can make. If you want to learn, here is the place. As I’m taking DMP program with teacher Silke, I can definitely see her effort and educational skills, not to mention the infrastructure that the studying environment provides. Besides that, the VIC management team is great at dealing with whatever problems and questions us students have. For an example, Alexandre, who is brazilian like me, helped me a lot with the familiarization process and work related stuff. Recommend 100% of the times.

During the course, it was up to me how much I wanted to do, but I studied diligently for 3-4 hours a day for 3-4 days a week and barely managed to complete it within the deadline. The course was tighter and more extensive than expected, but I was able to enjoy it to the end due to the instructor's wit and expertise. The only disappointing thing was that if I missed the weekly call, I wouldn't be able to receive any further communication that week. It would be great if they called back when they miss the first time. I'm looking forward to the next course as well.

I had a great time taking my teaching experience to a whole new level with the TESOL Advanced Online Diploma. It suited my circumstances and David’s guidance and prompt response to my queried made it so much more easier! Thank you VIC and special thanks to my tutor David Paton!

I like the staffs of the school, they're friendly and approachable! our teachers are fun, lots of activities for educational purposes. it's a stress-free environment and a very clean instituton.

I love all events at Arbutus Collage. They are always fun with their games to join and meet new people🥰

Go and Alex are my favorite teacher ❤️
They are good in teaching at class. 👏
They are good in teaching at class. 👏

The college is friendly, Richard is an excellent professor, he has adequate and practical knowledge; Alex is another teacher who with interactive classes you learn a lot. I love it.

Arbutus College is very good place to learn to much knowledge about Business Management, Marketing and make the perfect social network. My really appreciation to Richard, Tunde, Savita, and Alex, they are amazing teachers, their dynamic and realistic teaching are unique.

Program in here are the best . They provide all kind of accommodation to make the student welcome on the first day until the last day. I love all the teacher so well and they give the best education that I wish and ask for .

The co-op coordinator is the most helpful person here. She's always supporting us when we need help even if is not related to co-op. I highly recommend you guys to come here to study and enjoy the first Canada's impression.

STAY AWAY from this college!!
Please, do not go to this college. I got enrolled in August 2022 and I decided to cancel my program. The University was supposed to refund partially of the deposit as per our agreement and never did.
When I asked for the refund they told me they had sent the money to a payment method I did not choose, thus the money never appeared. I specifically asked to receive a check under my name and the college decided to use another payment method so the money got lost.
Unless the college proves me wrong, it is a scam.

I studied hospitality management with coop at Vancouver International College. I learned many skills and thankful to all the friendly staff and my teachers. I would like to also thank my student and immigration advisor Mr. Ilyas Kayran for all his help throughout my studies at VIC.

Before taking the TESOL class, I was nervous and worried so much. But after the first class from Allan, I became confident and relaxed. I can't thank you enough to him. To be honest, it was not as easy as I thought. It required lots of quizzes, tests, and final assignment which were quite tricky. For me, Allan's weekly call helped a lot. Through that call, I could ask some questions and Allan answered really carefully. Finally, I could finish all and got the certificate. Now, I am very rewarded and highly recommend to anyone who would like to take this course!

Glenn College's TESOL program taught me so much about teaching. Through the lessons, I realized why some things didn't work and some things did work in my past teaching jobs. I think I can utilize what I have learned through this program to become a better teacher now.
Regarding the program, I would like to say the lessons were well-organized and clear, and the quizzes, tests, and final assignment helped to reinforce everything that I had learned throughout the lessons. It's definitely perfect if you want to improve upon your teaching skills!
Thank you, Glenn College and Allan, for managing upon my progress and giving me aid when I needed help. I had a great time!

If you are looking for a place that you wanna get a TESOL certification/Diploma I highly recommend Glenn College. It has detailed lesson plans and divers activities so you can achieve more than you want. Plus, Allan, the main instructor, is very passionate at teaching the subject. He provides customised useful tips based on ur needs. I also recommend to get a TESOL Practicum Diploma as well to improve your practical teaching skills.

The people are very kind in this school. I highly recommend. Especially Jessica Co-op coordinator, she always so kind, patient and nice. They are really helpful, you can absolutely choose Vancouver International College

I didn’t mean to write this review but the only true comment left about this college is by a comment leaver named Jay. He wrote he has no idea about their ESL, I will tell you all the truth about their ESL program. They go and beg their students write awesome google reviews about their teachers and poorly managed college who is making money on trapping international students for their money and exploiting their own teachers. All their positive comments you read here are made up, fake and fabricated to boost their visibility on the Internet. Their ESL program is poor because of its manager someone called Abas an arrogant, unprofessional person who likes humiliating people and changes his colours ten times in order to survive on his job. He is from Iran and majority of his teachers were obviously from Iran when I was a student there, except for two Russian teachers ok, maybe not all, 90 percent from Iran. His Iranian teachers were speaking their languages in the campus among each other and how they were supposed to demand other students speak English only. I don’t know they have changed their monotonic and monethnic ESL teacher team yet or it’s still the same? I don’t know if they even changed their monethnic Japanese mostly student body as well? Only a couple of guys from Spain, Mexico, and a dominating student body of Japanese students, this is their market, making money on poor Japan, amazing humble, civilized, appreciative Japanese students were mislead with false co-op programs. Yes, we also didn’t have physical books, just links, they obviously saved money on us, but their dishonest manager Abas was my person be aware, dishonest, two-faced guy and a terrible teacher. Why he ever lasts? Because Canada is a myth, rule of law belongs to majority mafias like everywhere. Jay is right about anything else he wrote about their co-op programs, they don’t have any serious partners, that’s your trap, their hook to pay them money so that some private Korean or Chinese businessman gets even richer and buys even more 5 million dollar condos in Vancouver and contributes more to the gap of rich and poor that I shockingly observed in that country. Go to a public school, at least you can use that diploma to get a normal job in Canada if you are interested in this country, but don’t make this cheap businesses even richer. Yes, some comments say they print and sell diplomas and don’t care about anything else, it’s true. Do your research, don’t get trapped, every private business that is called a college is not a college. Maybe the only true thing in this comments was about their ESL teachers being hardworking, good guys, yes, my ESL teachers were coming out of their skins to please students you know why? Because they were all newcomers to Canada, trapped, exploited, their juices, squeezed in handling ridiculous teaching conditions in order not to lose their jobs and not to join the club of homeless guys who all surround their three campus buildings in downtown Vancouver when I was a student here. Do your research, that's it. I hate made up comments.

Amazing experience , the school is super close to the skytrain station so it has easy access. The teachers and the staff is kind and always willing to help and solve questions. You get to know people from around the world and improve your English a lot.

I felt the need for a TESOL certificate as I decided to work in an English kindergarten in Korea. I chose this program because of its good reviews and reliability, and it seems like the right choice. I could take classes while working, and the weekly calls from the teacher for check up made it much easier to complete the course.
Thank you for your help!
Thank you for your help!

This school is very fun. Professors(Richard, Alex) are all kind and generous, The best thing that I like about this school is national rate. There are not many Koreans so I can speak English more! Also there has a Korean manager Mia, she helps me to register this school. If I have some trouble, I can tell them freely always

I took the course of GBE. I had lots of opportunities to speak out in English like a presentation. In addition, I find lots of Japanese students in our class , so it is nice for Japanese who study abroad for the first time.
Still, about job hunting, you need to find almost BY YOURSELF. This course is good for students, but for business men or workers I guess it’ll be too basic.

Great experience, would definitely recommend the iBF program for people who want to discover Canada. In my personal case, GBC brought me the opportunity to meet wonderful people, develop my language abilities and grow as a worker.
Shout-out to cycle 97 and all of the teachers and staff, thank you so much!

I've three months studying in the English course (ESL) and I just want to say that teacher Tetiana is one of the best teachers.
She's dedicated and always encourages us to improve our English skills with different activities.
She's simply the best ✨

It was such a great choice to study in here.
I could understand the fundamentals of international business and based these to create various outcomes. Especially, I was able to experience a lot of valuable days while being an practicum.
Definitely, I believe I could improve my English speaking and my confidence was increased in this process.
Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to all the teachers of GBC.

I could learn a lot from this school. The teachers taught me about management and helped me write my resume. So, I could co-up in a good company and build up careers. Thank you to the teachers who always encouraged and praised me.

Actually, I’m not the person who leaves a review.
However, I know that If you guys read this review now, that means already hesitate to go to GBC or not.
So, I just want to help you decide easily. Because it was awesome.
Before that, you guys need to know that I’m not that special person.
In fact, GBC made the curriculum and timetable. So, I just followed. You know what? All of the class was interesting for me.
In my country, I never have gotten kind of that classes such as team activities, presentations, and so on.
Anyway, I cannot explain well about those classes well. If you guys try, then you can feel what I'm saying.
In the end, I could do an internship. Before the internship.
I did lots of personal interviews with GBC teachers. And I decided which part of the job I want to work.
I'm still keeping in touch with that intern company manager.
I don’t know if I can share this also here. I think GBC has a secret method to practice interviews for students.
After I came back to my country, I got a job directly before I graduated from university.
Now, I’m working for about 2 years in this area where I did a GBC internship.
And now~?
I got a job offer from the US.
So, I’ll go next year. How wonderful.
I know, leaving your own country is really hard.
But you guys should know,
Opportunity is given to those who try and are ready.
I hope you guys can decide well.
Wish you luck!

Teachers are so kind. They provided us opportunity to improve our practical communication skills for business. And it was helpful to prepare my job interview.

I learned a lot of things from GBC. For example, how to write resume in English, what attitude should I have when presenting, what is business manner, and so on.
And I could learn a lot of things about interview. I got a chance to practice as if I were having a real interview in front of the students. In addition, I got many opportunities to present during class. There was a shame about the presentation, but it disappeared !
Also, the teachers always worked hard with passion. This was very helpful in improving my English skills. It was really good experience. Thank you so much !

I was able to learn various business classes here. Teachers gave good guidance to all the students. They were people who always paid attention to students. Also, the internship activities conducted in connection with GBC became a meaningful experience for me. I got a good experience thanks to GBC.

Good program and good campus, I just checked out the student dormitory just 1 block away from the waterfront station.

I miss Cornerstone so much. This college is not only college, but it can call a second home for me. I feel so comfortable every time I come.
Staffs are so friendly and helpful especially Kayley. She’s wonderful.
I studied in the hospitality management program 6+6 in. I was able to study English free for 1 month and I got some scholarships too. I studied from January 2020, so I have a chance to study in college for months. After that, Canada was lockdown, so we couldn’t go to the college for a while. Then, Cornerstone allows a few students to come to the class and some of them study at home. I think it’s very awesome idea that other schools don’t have.
About my program, I could learn a lot in hospitality industry and the instructor especially Yahya and Shay are amazing. They’ve a lot of experience to share with us. We almost had a chance visit a hotel but because of the pandemic, so I had been cancelled. Anyway, in my program, I could learn many departments and responsibilities to work in a hospitality management.
The pros of Cornerstone is that you can start the course any month and you don’t need to concern about your ages because I saw various ages and different nationalities. This college has many workshops and activities to do such as writing resume, job interview workshops, or food training to get certificate to work. And they support us to find a job during co-op too. I found many cornerstones students get job offer after graduation. I hope l’ll be the one too. One of the most important is that there are Milo( golden dog, he’s so adorable !) that’s why I love here so much.
Oops, I remember when I was in the college, they provided some snacks for students too lol I like that.
Cons : I think in the ESL class, there are too many students, so we couldn’t have chance to speak so much. But I really like the way of the teacher teaching style( Abbas) ; he’s the best ESL teacher. We had fun and activities to improve all of my language skills.
If you are considering to pursue your career in the future, I would definitely recommend Cornerstone to gain your knowledge and experience in Canada. It’s not only a college but it’s a part of my family too.
