As a neighbour I’m glad UC Law is here. They have some legal clinics but also just keep this area cleaner and more well-run. Finally, with Newsome’s August 2024 initiative, the tenderloin is noticeably improving and such establishments can thrive again.

Great law school, had the best time there!

Worst school in terms of service for alums. Don‘t expect to get any meaningful help from the Career Office, you will be out on your own looking for a job/internship, you should consider this when choosing the right school for you.

I am a San Francisco Native, and just recently heard about The Hastings' Lawyer/Legal referral & clinic. The clinic is held one Friday a month. This has to be one of the GREATEST "hidden jewels" of a service that is given to the public!!
An absolute "God Send!!"

Id like to express how great ful I am as our children have succeeded in there academics at Hastings. It’s taught, not just them but us, a rofedsion and responsible way of life. And I’d like to add the city looks much better environment. No child should every experience poverty or have a poor way of life every adult should take care of there children and make them responsible successful people and this world will be a better place. Keep up the good work ! I thank you
We care about our country our city’s and every living thing. It’s been an honor to have our freedom our human rights and our lives live right

👍🏻

I heard good things about this college. Although i used the parking lot only i met some nice students that the college was good and you get student discounts with parking. I didn't ask anymore. But the area is a high traffic area remember that.

The irony can't be ignored when a school of law straddles the lawlessness of the Tenderloin and the Market Street/SoMA area.
The school at night time is a one stop circus and zoo like view of the lifestyle adopted by a seemingly endless supply of hard drug users from all over the country. As well as the "hondo" refugees from Honduras who sell them what they seek.
And let me tell you, they don't have to seek hard because it's all right there. One of if not the last great open air drug markets.
Relatively safe environment. Just look out for needles and don't leave anything valuable in your car.

Good

This is a popular law school in the San Francisco area that is very supportive of their student's education. The school has a two large floors dedicated to the law school with several large lecture/mock trial rooms, smaller lecture rooms, and two floors in the law library for students to study in quiet. GGU School of Law also has a ranking part-time law program that meets in the evenings. This school is located in the heart of San Francisco in the busy financial district amongst many courts, law firms, and businesses. Golden Gate University also is known for their business, tax, finance, public administration, and psychology degrees.

I had a fantastic experience at USF! I cultivated life long friendships, while also receiving a stellar legal education.
My favorite part about attending USF is the community. Even since I graduated I love seeing alumni and current students. Everyone is always happy to lend a helping hand if needed. There is a true sense of community at USF that transcends ones time as a law student.
I also received an outstanding legal education at USF. There was a wide range of classes each taught by a great Professor. The bar classes are practical and informative. The truly outstanding thing about USF is that it listens to its students and is always innovating based on student feedback.
Overall, USF is wonderful. The student body is diverse, intelligent, and friendly, and the Professors are engaged, dedicated, and supportive.

USF’s strong focus on social justice, close-knit sense of community, and emphasis on a practical skills-based legal education provided me with tools I now use to help my clients and their families recover in the face of serious wrongs.
The relationships I built persist to this day. The professors, once my teachers, remain mentors and friends who guide me along the difficult path of a first-year attorney. My friends and peers remain close, injecting a dose of camaraderie and civility into contentious litigation that might otherwise blur the line between adversary and enemy. The alumni network continues to be a source of support, providing me with the opportunity to learn from far more experienced and successful USF lawyers – one of whom offered me my current job upon my successful passage of the Bar Exam.
USF is a school with unquestionable character and as a result produces lawyers of the same caliber. If you want to go to law school because you have a passion for justice and are determined to change the world for the better, I urge you to choose USF. And with any luck, USF will choose you too.

Beautiful campus

Nice library in a very small one building university. Not open to general public

I adore my law school. Exemplary faculty; personable staff; a top-notch security team; lauded alumni history; and a student body unparalleled in diversity. Going to school is like visiting my family every day. The two academic buildings are closely situated directly across the street from each other. No struggling to race across campus in between classes here. Everything you need is within a 3 minute walk. (The school will be adding a new state-of-the-art building soon).
Hastings is a law school campus--no other courses are taught here. Students are steeped daily in the law, without competing for space or focus with other types of academia. Being in the heart of Civic Center, Hastings is moments away from City Hall and the Federal Courthouse. Students are regularly invited to be active in school decisions and to offer feedback. Hastings has myriad activities, panels, events, and groups to choose from in every selected legal field. The support faculty is incredible. There is someone to answer your questions and guide you, every step of the way.
I know it's normal to talk up your institution, but I truly wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Law school is inherently challenging. You should love where you are learning. I absolutely do.
Some of my personal favorite perks: bi-weekly meditation group, and a performing a-capella group, Legal Notes, of which I am a co-president to date (2L).
