cool sculpture
Schöne Skulptur des italienischen Künstlers Ugo Attardi, welche prominent in den Lower Barrakka Gardens platziert ist.
The statue of Aeneas was symbolically placed at the entrance to the port of Valletta. Made by the master Ugo Attardi (1923-2006), a Genoese artist at 360 degrees because he is a painter, sculptor, but also a graphic designer, designer and writer, it is a large bronze casting. More than two and a half meters high, it represents the mythical Virgilian figure of Aeneas with tense muscles and open arms. Aeneas, one of the great traveling heroes of the ancient epic. After his escape from the burning city of Troy, he traveled the Mediterranean from East to West before reaching Lazio. The statue donated by the Dante Alighieri Society - an Italian cultural institution present on the island for many years - is a tribute to Malta. Open to the European peoples and in particular to the Italian one. A relationship with Italy that is not only symbolic. This statue, in fact, has a twin copy of it located in Fiumicino, not far from Rome. .
