Sara and the Storie Collective team have been amazing to work with. To date we've worked on over five projects together, so we've seen the breadth of the work Storie Collective produces. As a General Contractor we really appreciate their process. From the detailed drawings and renders they produce, to the material selection process, it is streamlined and smooth for the client and GC. Their design aesthetic is sophisticated and clean with flourishes of intricate details. They are truly wonderful at listening to client's needs and desires and interpreting them into design form. They are the biggest advocates for their clients' and are a great partner for any GC firm. I couldn't recommend Storie Collective enough.

Sara and her team at Storie Collective have been BRILLIANT. We are currently seeing all of their work come to fruition and Sara has made the process so easy and exciting for us. Sara uses her design prowess, innovative ideas, and an uncannily intuitive ear for hearing her clients tastes and styles, and combines them to create spaces more beautiful than the owner could have imagined. It's MAGIC. Just like most couples, my husband and I don't always have the same taste and Sara has been fantastic at building compromise that we can both feel good about. We expanded our project quite a bit when we saw the exciting ideas Sara had for our space, so naturally our budget increased, but she and her team have been respectful of our limits throughout the entire process. I applied for a job with Masterpiece Staging as a Warehouse Worker with a local women owned business of HGTV fame in my neighborhood. The building is a warehouse filled with table,chairs,sofas,end table,table lights and paintings which is used to create beautiful interiors that helps to sell house through the DMV area.

Daryl Carter for more than a decade has been impacting interior designers nationally. When his first books The New Traditional was published the US was drowning in beige living rooms and red dining rooms. Mr. Carter liberated our senses and showed us how to keep our antique collections and make them new again through curating. It is impossible to talk about design and the last 15 years of style evolution with out discussing his body of work. Mr. Cater is a national treasure and DC is very-very lucky to have him. Why has he not been apart of the White House redesign yet? Big mystery to me.

My husband and I hired ZFD to make our newly builder renovated Capitol townhome reflect more of our personality and living style. We got off to a great start knowing that the initial consultation fee would be donated to a charity that ZFD supports. As we worked with Zoe and the team, we expanded the scope to include the entire house as we saw first hand their ability to make our home stylish while being very livable and comfortable. Zoe and her team were excellent with communicating what was possible and how it would look, even though we lived out of town during COVID. They combined Zoom calls with sending samples and used renderings to make sure we could visualize the end goal. They came up with ideas and solutions to make the house have storage and design features that we would not have conceived of on our own. The overall result is amazing and has far exceeded our expectations! An additional benefit to working with Zoe and her team is that she shared her love for the world of art with us by connecting us with professionals that helped us to develop our taste. It has been a wonderful gift that has added a great deal to our lives and our home. We couldn’t be happier with the experience of working with Zoe and her talented team!

Sara at StorieCollective is absolutely fantastic. My wife and I hired her to design and furnish several rooms of our new house, and we were extremely impressed by every aspect of her work. She started by coming out to our house and spending an hour getting a sense of the space and talking to us about our goals and tastes. Sara did a great job of listening attentively to our desires while also imparting her thoughts and expertise. She then worked quickly to create a design and propose furniture and art for each room. She created spaces that were simultaneously unique and cohesive. She proposed furniture and art that fit our taste perfectly and that we loved immediately, but they were not items we would have identified ourselves. That fact alone made hiring Sara worthwhile. But then after the furniture was selected, Sara also took care of all of the logistics, including negotiating over furniture delays and replacements (one desk arrived damaged, and Sara handled sending it back and getting a replacement). Sara was always attentive and responsive, but never overbearing. We plan to continue using Sara for the other rooms in our house. Simple put, she is excellent.

Skip Sroka and his wonderful team of associates were a pleasure to work with. They did a fabulous job in my kitchen, bathrooms, and bedroom

I engaged Sroka design in 2014 in anticipation of a move to a new home. Skip and Liz were great to work with and managed so many things - built-ins, tile, subcontracting, coordination, and follow up. I LOVE my house and every day I am grateful that I invested in using Sroka design as my house would never be so functional and pulled together as it is now. Highly recommend!

Skip and his team are the best! Amazing design skills (of course), PLUS a willingness to work with whatever we need (kid-friendly and dog-friendly fabrics? No problem!) Combine that with friendly service and a back-office support team that is responsive and timely. You can't go wrong!

really do not advise - this is a lost of your time ...

I booked a visit (and paid a not cheap fee ) to meet with Zoe Feldman Design... I took time to take the team through all the possible project and rooms in our house - ( one of them arrived late so I also had to take that person through rooms a second time) our plan is to first prioritize master bathroom or kitchen and then work later through other rooms ... There was room for many different timing and budget. At the end we agreed they will share a total budget estimate for us to understand scope/work. A week after meeting with the team I received a note mentioning our timing and budget is out of their scope and the note included their typical budget ( fitting exactly our budget and our timing was flexible )... so it totally seemed like a misunderstanding ... I sent since then 3 notes and tried to call 1 time ... never received any follow up and explanation on why our project did not fit the "scope" ... this is very unprofessional and I do not recommend loosing your time trying to work with this company.

Sroka Design provided excellent interior design services as part of a large new construction/renovation project and a subsequent freshen up of other spaces in our home. Their ability to understand our aesthetic preferences, stay within budget and create beautiful, comfortable and timeless spaces is amazing

We worked with StorieCollective for a remote design of the open concept living/dining area of our Capitol Hill home. Sara was fantastic to work with and we were so pleased with the ease of the design process as well as the result. Our space had its challenges but she developed an excellent floor plan that used the space in a smarter way than we would have come up with on our own. We were keeping a few existing pieces of furniture and the other design choices that Sara made worked well with what we already had. Sara was very easy to collaborate with and her choices for our home were spot on. I loved the ease of the clickable shopping list and the ability to reference both the space plan and design concept. I’m so happy that we worked with StorieCollective- our space is absolutely more functional, beautiful and well curated as a result.

Although we are 500 miles apart, Sara’s vision and help were transported seamlessly right to my new kitchen. She was always accessible. She answered questions, supplied opinions and was spot on with her advice and taste. I've engaged Andreas and FORMA Design for two separate endeavors, each one as gratifying as the next. The first project involved a grand, custom piece of artwork which remains to this day, the jaw dropping centerpiece of my home in DC. Andreas was by my side from the initial "chin scratching" of how to address my unique design challenge, through the dramatic installation, and subsequent celebration of a magnificent job, well done. On this confidence, my small renovation company later enlisted FORMA Design for the comprehensive interior design of a multi-unit, multi-million dollar condo project. Again, a spectacular outcome. Relocating and re-branding my practice has been a tremendous success. FORMA helped me define my goals and get the most out of the new office space I had purchased. When it came time for us to design a second location for our Pediatric Dental practice, we knew that we wanted it to be special. FORMA Design executed a sleek, sophisticated and inviting design for our space without compromising on the warmth that we wanted to convey. In many ways, the office design helped us to rebrand and update our image within the community. We always promoted ourselves as a boutique dental practice for children with the highest standards for care, and now we had the perfect office to back it up. Our office has been featured in many publications and has been used to host events such as continuing education seminars and professional mixers. Six years later and we still get the "Wow!" exclamations when people enter the office for the first time. The most important thing to us, however, is the way the space makes our patients feel. Terrible customer service. They operator is very difficult to deal with. Nobody answers their phone when you do finally get past the operator. They are not interested in sharing bid lists, which costs their customers money. Just an unpleasant organization.
