I would choose zero stars if it was a choice. Aetna denies claims, does not follow through on appeals in the time they say they will. You are unable to talk to anyone that can answer any real questions on the phone and are told they will only talk to the doctors. My Company will be moving on to a new insurance provider ASAP.

Working okay for me but I haven't had any complex procedures/care. Customer service is difficult though

If I could give this insurance 0 stars I would. They approve a procedure and call you the next day and deny it. They approved a ct scan for my abdomen and pelvis, but not for my chest? Even though my last scan it was all completely approved????!! This is the worst insurance and the WORST customer service. They’re fast to take your money, but are useless when it comes to actually helping you.

Awful insurance, tons of incorrect and out of date info on their website and reps actually try to not help you even when paying for the top tier plan provided by them.

Aetna insurance is horrible. I need surgery and they denied. Put in for emergency appeal. Was told my Dr. would hear back from them in 24hrs. They lied. I have given them everything they need. Still they will not contact my Dr. or myself. I live in chronic pain. Don't want pain pills i want to be fixed. You wonder why people get suicidal ,because the system failed you. Very disappointed customer.

Whenever I try and call to get ANOTHER EOB fixed, I always get someone with the thickest accent and can never get anything accomplished because I can not understand what they are saying and issues arise frequently with submitting my bills!

Aetna does not honor it's health insurance policies. I'm on an insulin pump that requires a specific CGM to enable the emergency shut off feature of the pump. As a result I had a low blood sugar of 23 in my sleep and had a stroke. The left side of my body is now numb. Their own health bulletin 0070 paragraph 11 states by name the pump and the required cgm. My doctor has reached out to them providing pre-auth information 3 times over the past few months. Aetna's requirements change each time I call. When I call, I'm on the phone with them for as long as 2.5 hours at a time, get passed around to 5 different departments and end up right back where I started. I've been assured it's resolved, yet it still gets denied when I call back after the mandatory 3-4 business days wait after the doctor provides the latest information they decide they need. Clearly this is an organizational problem, but at the end of the day my health is worse because I chose Aetna. When I had the opportunity to change insurances during open season two months ago, again I was assured it was covered. Yet they still do not resolve the issue and provide the required device. Now they are asking my doctor to send a diagnostic code, the doctor is asking what code they want, and Aetna won't provide the code they seek. Meanwhile I at any given time, my glucose could crash and cause another stroke. Horrible company, don't use, wouldn't give them one star if it were an option here.
