This place are trying to charge $30 to be able to use one hour whatever they have... what a joke... before whoever was able to pay $10 without being a member and be able to use racquetball court

The reason this place isn’t 3 stars is because the men’s sauna is spectacular. The sauna is above and beyond all other ymca saunas I’ve been to. The weights are acceptable but not great, there’s no pool, the people at the front are pretty useless but that’s par for the course at many YMCAs, at least they’re not as rude as the staff at Alexandria. Also they recently started doing towels which is awesome.

The hours are what you would expect for a smaller YMCA. If you can get into XSPORT when they have deals that’s probably better overall since it’s 24 hours. Lifetime is nice but not worth the money.
Tried to share with Greg about my rare daughter’s allergy. Wanted to tell him that a pool thermometer would be extremely helpful, as how she medicates for cold temperatures is titrated based on exposure. He couldn’t have been more rude, and clearly expressed that he had NO interest in what I was trying to communicate.

When we moved nearby I was initially excited to be close to the Y for all that it was supposed to offer. I’m honestly shocked anyone willingly pays money to use this facility because it’s so pitiful! In all seriousness it must be among the worst in the country in terms of the facility. Online this location is listed as having aquatics, so I was hoping I could at least get my littles some swim lessons. HAHAHA! What a joke! The pool is too small to even swim a lap and it is outdoors so can only be used in the summer. I don’t even know why the pool is listed as an amenity because you can’t work out in it. Such a shame.

I’m looking forward to them tearing this down and building a brand new facility. It’s disappointing that they’re using half of the current land for yet another apartment building in the neighborhood. They really should keep the entire property and build a large state-of-the art facility.

I used the small Y for my short stay in the area. The equipment and facility is pretty old and rundown. Not the nicest Y I've been, but have the necessary equipment to work out. The staff were nice and helpful.

The place is very conveniently located and is NEVER crowded. Equipment is clean and there's always enough weights. However, the facility and equipment is ancient and awkwardly arranged. Straight out of the 80s. They also don't have many machines present at most modern day gyms. Great if you only need the bare basics for your workout and don't mind the enclosed spaces.

Tried to sign up for a one month membership, and their "fine print" policies are screwing me over to paying for three months. Outdated equipment, rude staff, and antiquated computer system. For a place that promotes respect and honesty it is pretty ironic they make it impossible to cancel a membership. Do not join this gym there are plenty of better ones in the area
Really nice pool, crowded at times which it's easy to get over but really fun to be at.

I have been coming here with my son in-law and my daughter and their twin toddlers since we moved here 2 months ago. The atmosphere is great. They welcome newcomers like us and try to help in every way they could. It is very well equipped with a very nice swimming pools. They are lots of programs for members. We are all energized by the Y spirit. We just love it.
Best pool in Northern VA. Several pools for all ages and skill levels. Concessions second to none volleyball court. Membership has a waiting list so you better know somebody that already is

The pool itself is great, but making adults get out of the pool every hour for 15 minutes is absurd. No one gets 15 minute breaks every hour in real life. When there is 2 lifeguards, adults should be allowed in the pool during kid breaks. Some adults enjoy getting in when the kids are out of the pool.
This is a membership only community pool, and a very good one. Always clean and well managed, great attention paid to safety and order, separate lap pool and general swim area, diving well, kids and infant pools, volleyball court, picnic and barbecue grill area, snack bar: you could pretty much spend the summer here. Cheap it ain't, and the waiting list is long, but it is worth it!
Great pool and community for families! Swim, dive, play, relax and enjoy.
There are ghosts here, The bathrooms are about as good as the ones you'd expect in the old Veterans Stadium. the lifeguards can't do their job and it's a wine and cheese place
Great Community Pool, membership required. Excellent staff and facilities. Great swim and dive team programs for kids. Office hours 9-5, pool hours vary by day and season.

The YMCA is a little run down and old but I like it. I never have to wait for any machines! There is never too many people there. It's the cheapest gym in the area, that I am aware of. They have a pool, plenty of classes and the right gym machines and equipment. The people working here are really friendly. This place is laid back and people may not like it since the gym is a little old school compared to it's higher priced rivals. They provided towels for you when you walk in and there is a sauna in the changing rooms.
While its supposed to be one of the best pools in Virginia, it does not live up to expectations. The lifeguards are mean, and the bathrooms are gross.
