This is a great place to walk around and see various animals and birds etc. It is operated by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and they have a visitor center, and they are very friendly. This was our second time here. The history is very unique in that this property used to be a secret listening post for the United States Army. All in all, it's a great spot to go for a walk.
A lovely small wildlife free of charge right outside of Hoodbridge. It is a haven for avifauna especially, like osprey and eagles, and you’re nearly guaranteed to see them when here, as well as many fowl particularly in wintertime. There is a new visitor’s centre there, but its hours are a bit odd. Minus one star since the signs were shambolic and many trails closed off due to eagles breeding (which is perfectly fine, just let me know ahead of time- they put the signs at the end of the trail instead of “trail closed ahead,” which for temporary signs isn’t difficult to procure). They also had a one-way trail that wasn’t marked as such on the maps, so fix your signs and maps and you’ll get that last star. Still, worth a visit. Cheers.
My favorite Woodbridge nature gem! Thanks to many years of conservation efforts there are so many animals here to see, from rabbits to turtles, osprey, eagles (mid spring), and turkeys! Exceptional refuge with plenty of trails and scenic views.
Very serene Park. First time for us to come here. Park is mostly frequented by birds (land and water) lovers. There was plenty of parking. Toilette were locked and seems like they were overflowing because you could smell them from outside.
A lot of water debris on the trail, but you can easily negotiate your way around it.
If you are looking for quietness and a large open water space, then you will enjoy it.
Some trails are closed due to the Eagles nesting (signage could be better in some places) but there are still plenty of places you might spot Eagles and other wildlife. Beautiful area, definitely worth a visit.
Really great place for all weather hiking and interacting with nature! Trails are wide and graveled (the size of a one lane road). No need to worry about muddy conditions. Lots of trail options and bathrooms are handy. Lots of wildlife to observe.
This place is under construction when I went there, there are a lot of rabbits and wild turkey, you may come across while walking through the road. You will have some beautiful bird watching places where you will get telescope free of cost. Overall, good place to hang around especially if you have kids, they will love it.
New Visitor Center, signage indicates Friday and Saturday hours, since 6.24.22. I found a new observation deck at the Turtle Pond. I saw improvement to the existing deck, and a improved restroom. As far as the nature, I saw small rabbits at every location, like I've never seen before. Lots of birds: eagles, redbirds, little sparrows, and robins. I took two steps off a trail to observe birds in some under brush and nearly stepped on a long black snake. Overall good day, on my return visit.

This is just a small stretch of greenery.
