The trails are VERY steep. This place is not for inexperienced hikers.

My first time coming here was to get baptized in the river and it was such an amazing experience! The King of Kings and Lord of Lords was def. present.

This is my second time here today and I’m giving a rating of 3 just because there’s broken trees and branches all over the place due to the storms recently but no one has came to remove them nor treat the plants.

Climbing the hill is a good workout. The top of the hill is a good spot for sunset photos.
Nice area. Sort of hard to distinguish where the trail is as there isn't much signage. Also the street parking is not where the GPS takes you to. Have to go a block over to greenview.
Classic Ann arbor park, everyone should visit the arb at least once in life. It has very well kept unpaved trails. It has a main field, a path along the river, and a prairie. Then it has trails through wooded areas. They have Shakespeare in the park here and a peony garden bloom.
Oh just lovely .

And theres a nice back drop of pines and seats.

If i had a date,
id park right there for a hour amongst the peonies and peoples.
The Arb Peony Garden is in full bloom this week. A must see for flower lovers. Very crowded on Sunday @11am but still worth seeing. (Less crowded during the week).

Great park with well maintained trails. Parking lot is small and fills up quickly on nice days.
Spring in the Woods. This little place saves my soul...
Very nice area with the beautiful big birds in their cages. First time coming to to the nature center I enjoy it. 😊👍🏾
Newly renovated playground at the elementary school is fantastic! The woods are great too-- beautiful place for a stroll in any season.
Very lovely nature area. There are a couple different loops you can walk, all in a forested area. I would go back again for sure. There are a couple private paths that lead off the main loop to private property, but the trail is well marked and there is a map at the trail head.
A good adventure spot for quick exercise route's, and there's robins!

A beautiful place to hike or go on a picnic, even “off season” when the peonies aren’t in bloom!
Great little set of trails. The trail is fantastic during all seasons. Watch for bugs in the tall grass during the warmer months. I've seen deer running around in here. Lots of variation in scenery and quick in and out. Was pretty thickly covered In snow yesterday.

Nice nature area tucked away along a glacial moraine. Oak hickory forest and prairie habitat. Fair number of mountain bikers here.
Beautiful place to hike in the middle of town
Reasonable nature area most popular for R/C cars. A decent number of trails, but some are right next to each other. I don't know if a map exists but definitely not all of the trails are on it. Some rolling hills, a small patch of prairie. Parking was unmarked when I went there, but don't try to park across the street and take your chances with four lanes of traffic!

A small but vital section of local woodland that gives me solace, peace, and saves my mental state that seeks wilderness for sanity. This little bit of nature fills my soul till I can escape to live as an old hag in the woods. Dogs like it too.
Beautiful park. I love peony season especially!!

Beautiful trails and very quiet. The access to the flower garden is nice. Lots of parking and it doesn't get that busy.

Had so much fun hiking this trail! It was quite mucky, but the sun was shining ☀️ I would have appreciated just a touch of signage at the intersection of the various trail loops... we got a little twisted around. A color coded system of markers would be very helpful!
This is one of the best nature areas in all of Ann Arbor!
Pleasant neighborhood Nature Center. Has a central shallow pond that supports a seasonal range of creatures. Excellent place for short walks to recharge the psyche and provide children a nature experience.

This is nice for the location. Good place for a brief hike through the woods. It doesn't quite feel like an "escape" per se as you are always within close proximity to either a major roadway or residential areas but it is a nice little park nonetheless.
Alway a nice place to hike the trails and take pictures in all seasons!! Definitely needs more parking!!!!!!

Adorable! However, we did not realize Dogs were prohibited until we arrived. I searched the County Website specifically to ensure we could take our dogs. Other reviews and pics allude to walking dogs... Maybe I missed a rules page somewhere. So I'm posting this to assist others looking for a place our furry friends can go too:) I'm not 100% certain that all County Preserve areas are No Dog zones but I've seen it at a few others as well.
This little forest reserve is a great neighborhood resource. Its not the biggest "woods" in Ann Arbor, but it provides a great place to take a walk. The terrain is varied, there are no paved paths, and park is completely natural. This is literally a nice plot of natural woods to walk around in, not a designed or curated city park. When you walk around you can experience actual solitude and feel like you are much further away from cars, people and houses than you actually are. It's peaceful and relaxing. For those who care, walking around the outer loop once is about 3000 steps.
Nice trail to explore or just sit by the river.
forest. paths. thats it. go in your backyard if you really want the experience

The hike down is a bit tricky and not for young or out of shape. Beautiful though and is against water. Can get busy....

Love the peaceful walking trails connecting Lakewood and Dolph Nature Areas which include First and Second Sister Lakes...the random benches shoreside and on the hill offer an unexpected respite amongst the trees.
Wholesome, hilly. Big enough you could get a little lost.
Interesting topography, great views, hidden location, well maintained trails for all levels
4 ice arenas for hockey and figure skating and family fun

Great winter skating. Volunteers maintain the rinks but it's always best to bring your own shovel to pitch in and make sure conditions are ideal.

This place is nice but NOTHING like the description and photos suggest. The photos are from Gallup Park. This place has narrow paths through butterfly habitat. It also goes up and down hill which may be tough for some.
Lovely path around lake. Saw turtles and wildflowers.
Very good trail for residents in north campus in the summer.
Omgosh this nature center is just the cutest. Well maintained paths around the Little lake with tons of benches to sit and watch the water or maybe fish. It connects to two different school yards which are enormous and integrates really well with the neighborhood houses. I absolutely loved seeing all of the kids outside playing or riding their bikes which doesn't happen as much in my neighborhood. The only downside is that there's a ton of buckthorn which makes me really sad 😞
I love this park! It's a beautiful oasis that makes you forget you're in the city. In the spring you can even see baby owls! Be warned though-- if it has rained anytime within the past few days this place will either have standing water and/or be all mud.

This is a nice short hiking trail. Easy to stop in and walk a mile or two. The trees are amazing and it is home to a basswood preserve so keep your eyes open for those beauties. There is enough change in grade to provide some challenge, but not so much as to prohibit walking with kids, strollers, pets or seniors.
Walking and enjoing nature fall coler chenging and breathing fresh ait.
The different walk path are very nice. They are relatively "wild" and it makes it for a more interesting time.

The pond is also an interesting place where you can watch so neat nature.
The trail is use by a lot's of dogs owner witch can make it challenging to find wildlife.

This would be a beautiful, deep woods place to hike, except there are many fetid ponds and swamps, breeding swarms of mosquitos. Bring bug spray.

I'll add that there is a small bike rack. Bikes aren't allowed in the park.
I like it, But can you clean it up? Their Always Duck poo, Yuck things in the water. I'm not going back, till' You Clean it up.
At The end of Island drive park, beautiful place hidden away from view.
Good park with a lot of trails.

Really quiet and peaceful place...
Great trails!
Such a nice spot to take a quiet walk and explore with my kids. Picnic tables available too.
This is a gem!!! There were a lot of dogs, but did not see any dog droppings. People were friendly, kids loved finding their own little secret places. There is a nice pond that looks like it could be used for ice skating.
Overgrown but fun to explore, especially in the winter. Great views and hill climbs.
Get back over the first Hill to station 1 and it starts to feel like woods and less like roadside. We we went on a warm January day, trail was quiet. At least three ponds that are probably teeming with life in the spring.
Beautiful nature center with a pond, lots of wildlife, well-groomed trails, and (surprisingly) low usage (I can often walk the perimeter without seeing anyone else). There's raspberries, but also a little bit of poison ivy, so stay on the trail if you can't tell the difference.
Amazingly beautiful hiking trails hidden in west Ann Arbor.

A few trails that can be hard to find from outside, but it's a nice place to go be alone for a bit.
It's a great place to ride bicycle
Beautiful! I had no idea this was here. Gorgeous woods, some open spaces all hidden away. If it was not for a Geocache. I may never have visited. The hills are rather challenging but the views are worth it. Consider connecting a visit to the old girl Scout camp, Bird Hills and Baron Pond nature areas. It will be a very nice hike.
Great park, very few people on the trails, and some nice elevation changes. best park for trail running in Ann Arbor. Make sure you have a GPS/phone, or an old fashion map of the park, because it will be very hard to find your way otherwise. The north entrance is not well marked, and possibly on a private property (medical office or something similar, never had any issue).

I go here often so I know my way around but I agree with others that it is hard to make your way around. It is bordered by Orkney Rd, the Catholic cemetery on Sunset, Huron View Blvd & N Main St. It's got some beautiful views across the river valley & if it weren't for the sound of traffic you would never know you're in Ann Arbor. I've seen fox, deer, a coyote (only once), opossum, raccoon & other creatures here. The Prairie on the south end of the park is amazing. Enjoy the park but leave your GPS on 😉

No longer exists as a park. Just an unoccupied piece of land.
Interesting Park with plenty of walk ways and seat along Huron river.

Very nice
Nice trails, no maintenance. Lot of rocks. An adventure for mountain bikers.
There are some rather extensive trails to be had for walking and it's all quite lovely. Keep a watch out for bikers of the mountain variety who also frequent trails.
