On Tuesday 14 Nov 2023 we entered the Limietberg Nature Reserve at Tweede Tol in the Bainskloof Pass to do the Waterfall hike. The Staff was super friendly and helpful. The bathroom facilities were spotless. The trail was an absolute joy to hike and the reserve is just so beautiful. We loved swimming in the pools at the various waterfalls and could have stayed the whole day! What an absolute fantastic reserve and awesome Staff!

This place is awesome, beautiful, with the best waterfalls, the hiking trail is not bad at all. We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be going again soon.

Stunning hike with 2 lovely waterfalls.
Hike in a large group when going here. There were some unsavory characters here when we went..
Also, make sure to have a permit.
They can be bought online, and they fall under cape nature.
Despite that we were asked for our permits by the cape nature staff they basically just clean the parking area.
Inside like 50M away, it was filthy like people just dumped their rubbish all over the floor, and it never gets picked up.

Amazing waterfalls and hiking trail.

Must visit Gods beauty is seen the that place it wonderful ,safe love the waterfall

This was our very first family hike and it truly did not disappoint. The trail can be strenuous but the views along the way is absolutely beautiful. When we arrived at the first waterfall, my son immediately dipped in and enjoyed the water. Getting to the second waterfall was a bit scary as you have to pull yourself up using a chain. But it is totally worth making it all the way up!!!! Seeing a little bit of paradise was beyond words. I was quite emotional as last year at this time, I was learning to walk after spine surgery. The entire group swam in the mountain pool and the texture of the water was a soft feel on the skin. We had a good breaky and my kids jumped from a very high daunting cliff into the pool. We really didn't want to leave and just spent time looking at the waterfall. On our way back, there were moments of jumping into pools to cool off. Overall, this first hike was the benchmark for hikes to come. Next, we are off to Crystal Pools, can't wait!

Limietberg Nature Reserve is by far the best Nature Reserve I have been too thus far, there is only camping as an option of accommodation, there is a day visitors sectors which has braai facilities and ablution areas, there is also a natural pool in the day visitors section.
On the camping side of the reserve, there is a hiking path marked by yellow footprints which lead you to the two beautiful water falls were one can go for a refreshing dip in the crystal clear waters. The 1st water fall is indeed my favorite as it is small enough for a quick swim and very deep to enable you to dive in from a high elevation.
The second waterfall houses a much bigger pool and would require you to wear aqua shoes as the rocks are sharp and can easily hurt you.
I almost forgot mentioning the spectacular views of the Thomas Bains Mountain pass on your way to the reserve. This place will beg you to come visit again.
