It's a nice place to plan a day out, i have attended a wedding here , the venue was fabulous with a lake side view with all amenities , It can easily accommodate around 80 people , friendly staff who Guide, help & server, if you are a guest Don't forget to put your REG in the tablet at bar to avoid parking tickets , if you are a visitor in can pay at machine, toilets inside, for DJs and contractors if need to carry your stuff after 10am because no vehicle is allowed closed to the venue, plan your day and make it memorable with Nature.

Arguably the best place to start the Guild Wheel for anyone travelling to Preston. Cycle tools and pump in the Visitor Centre, alongside toilets and cafe. The whole route is clearly signed. Plus a playground for the kids when they get fed up ....

A stop off on our long journey home from Cumbria to the Midlands. A welcome break. A cafe serving nice food with great views. A lovely stroll around the reserve and a play area for our granddaughter.

Lovely place to take children, bit expensive to park, eat there and treat a couple of kids to the explore maps for example, recommend take a picnic and just explore, lots of picnic tables. Main pond needed a bit of a clean up when we visited, floating litter. Need a few benches around the play area though so tired grandparents can sit down!

Beautiful, serene, well looked after and well naintained paths that are also suitable for wheelchairs. £5 to park then everything else is free. Great facilities too. It was a perfect walk with deer and birdsong followed by lunch on the decking overlooking the lake
Beautifully looked after local lakes and easy walks. Plenty of wildlife to spot and a nice visitors centre. Definitely going back! 💖💖💖
Very peaceful, but short walk around. Nice for a quick stop off and leg stretch.

A very nice place to visit, the wildlife appeared to be taking a day off though, having said that at my age my walking range is a bit limited so will revisit. The catering is rudimentary in its offerings considering the modern kitchen and equipment available to staff.
Parking there was plenty room, one option £5 for all day but money goes to funding the reserve.
Went for the first time and absolutely loved it. I was in an electric wheelchair and it was OK.
We saw loads of wildlife and it's such a beautiful walk.
Lovely little walk around the lake! And another walk in the woods. Great to get out and stretch your legs.

Brilliant place to go walking and nature/bird spotting. (Several hides dotted around) paths are good and accessible, visitor centre is lovely too.
EDIT: Spring visit was fab, with so much bird & bug activity! Friendly little squirrel let up get fairly close for photos
Free parking. Pretty reserve. Circular path around central lake. Small paths down to lakeside. Paths even and able to be accessed by wheelchairs and prams. Nice gentle walk.
Wonderful area to talk for the most part. Some sketchy road crossings and through a golf course, but a nice walk none the less. Doesn't push you very hard, however that's what I expected.
Beautiful place for a walk accompanied by a dog if you wish. All of the dog owners we ran in to were very friendly and handled their dog well around our puppy. The place has notices with rules, dogs on leads for example. Well maintained and looked after.
Only problem was I tried to jump brook and slipped on stones on opposite side, feeling it today sore and aching all over.
Really great for dogs just keep dogs on lead on path with lots of cyclists.
Lovely woodlands walk just off waking street road in Brookfield.
Went to have a look, could do with some benches and seat,s, we took a picnic but nowhere to sit to enjoy the peace and quiet. The pond at the top of one of the stairs was a bit of a mess, full of surface weed and cans, no wildlife on it, a bit dissapointed, sat in car having our picnic, no map showing footpaths.
Great place for a stroll with or without a dog. Free car parking. A visitor centre with toilets but the centre and toilets aren't open every day. Plenty of Ducks and Squirrels. At time of posting we haven't to feed ducks, birds etc due bird flu. Children will love it.
Love this place so much natauar and so peaceful great wokes grat floating cafe fantastic play era for the kid's big and smaller
The tasting menu was as good as any meal I have had.
Really enjoyable evening.
Amazing place for a walk and see wildlife. The people who look after this place do valiant work. I have noticed the overgrowth that they have cut back and taken down dead trees and foliage. It has really made a difference to visibility. I would like to see all the ivy stripped off some of the trees which is strangling them. This is not a criticism btw. I am left wondering if there is a friends of Brickcroft organisation that volunteers could join to help with the constant workload that running this place must generate. Anyway great work, love walking in this place and would recommend to anyone wanting a quick stroll with the dog.
Nice place for a walk plenty of wild life if you look nature reserve at bottom lakes and cafe
I decided to explore this nature reserve after seeing it on Google Maps. It was a 50 minute walk to get there on a bright Friday morning and it was definitely worth it once getting there. The bird song was amazing and the paths were well laid out and useable. I met very little people whilst walking and those I did were families and dog walkers, all very polite and observing social distancing. There is a lovely babbling stream running through the nature reserve, and if you are lucky enough you will see squirrels scampering about. A really pleasant walk, explore the paths and enjoy your time there. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that I was disappointed to find no benches go sit on to enjoy the views and listen to the glorious bird song. Wear sturdy boots and remember to take your rubbish home .
Lovely apart from all the off Rd bikes, police should really clamp down on these idiots causing a nuisance
It's a good local dog walking place with a play area for the kids and a nice open space
Used to play here as a child 60yrs ago when land was undeveloped
This is the place where we used to go when we were kids, now it has proper pathways and views today for, this place is perfect for dog
Walks with the family.
Unexpected location for a nature reserve and a nice spot for a walk. It's also a great location if you're into photography as there is a bridge which crosses the M6 allowing for an unusual perspective.
It was raining and muddy, but the paths need fixing and the bushes need a trim but other than that it was lovely 😊
Great place to go for a walk with the family and it's good for the head very friendly
