Very challenging near the top of the mountain. The terrain was quite rocky.
One of the very best in town hiking and climbing areas in ANY city or area in the world. Everything from hiking up to full 5.14X climbs. I have completed many of them. You just need to be prepared for what you plan to do. The climbs on the "Praying Monk" you should have another competent climber with you and you should have good communication with you in case of fall.

I loved this hike even with the crowd. Such a fantastic workout! I was there on s cooler day, with overcast skies. I wouldn't recommend on a hot day.

A very technically challenging trail with majority of the hike I would consider rock scrambling. The views are stunning and well worth the effort. Allow yourself 2-3 hours to complete. I’d suggest hiking up echo canyon trail and down the cholla trail. Cholla trail is less rocky and more enjoyable to hike down. You will however need to Uber back to the echo trailhead or have a car parked at the bottom.

The hike provides exceptional views of the valley! It is considered one of the nation's top hiking destinations and attracts visitors from all over. There're two main trails that are considered to be pretty difficult, so one should proceed with caution.

My boyfriend trains strength and conditioning regularly and found this hike difficult but really fun. I haven’t been training over the last month and was deceased. But I also had a blast. This is a must if you’re in the city and have an active lifestyle. You’re expecting about 2 hours of hiking. Heavy incline and a lot of upper body work, climbing almost the whole way up. Come dressed appropriately and with a lot of water. Take your time, don’t give up. I would not suggest for children.

If youre an outdoor enthusiast you have to climb Camelback. Its not terribly hard, just make sure youre hydrated and bring extra water up with you. The altitude can make it a little hard to breathe also. Its not easy but it is a challenge!! Also wear shoes with grip on the bottom.

DO NOT go in this trail if you’re not expecting extreme heat, dehydration, and overall pain everywhere. Only recommend for extremely fit and athletic people who are absolute experts with strenuous hiking. Come with LOTS of water. My family ended up all running out even though we packed tons. The end view is NOT worth it whatsoever. So much pain for nothing at all. Helicopters and firefighters roam the area to help people who have been seriously injured. While i was there, 5 fire trucks came to rescue lost children/teens looking for shade that went missing/injured. For such a exhausting and excruciating hike there should be a nice view. There are plenty of hikes with beautiful and way better views in Arizona. Overall this hike is not worth it at all.

I've hiked it twice now. It's sooo much fun. Iconic mountain. For an experienced hiker/ athletic person it's not too difficult but please be careful if you aren't super experienced because you won't have great time. Great views. Steep grade. Awesomeness.
Wonderful hike. Cholla trail is pretty easy until the last 3-400 feet where it becomes challenging and steep in areas. Well worth the hike though! Lots of water and take breaks, slow and steady.
This is not an easy hike. Be prepared for a lot of bouldering! In the end, it's a really rewarding experience. I'd recommend getting there early. It's a popular place and parking is limited. Also, the trail gets busy, so the earlier you are up and down, the better the experience is without having to try and navigate rocks and people. The view is spectacular. Bring lots of water and some snacks!

Incredibly fun trail with a super rewarding breathtaking view of the Phoenix area at the finish line.

Kid and pet friendly trail but for the love of God, where some damn shoes that protect your feet, not sandals 🤦🏿‍♂️ The trail is very rocky and slippery in certain areas.

I highly recommend hiking sticks. This mountain will certainly test your knee's fortitude coming down 😂

Very popular hiking spot, certain spots on the trail become congested but it's not bad.
